Lava Reef Zone is a location in the Sonic series. It is the vicinity of a dormant volcano and in Sonic & Knuckles was the landing spot for the Death Egg. It also made an appearance in Sonic Adventure, in which we see the exterior of the volcano, albeit under the name
Sonic Heroes 2[]
Lava Reef Zone also makes an appearance in Sonic Heroes 2. Team Archaic plays this twice, once en route to Sandopolis, where they go to practice in peace and once again at the very end of the storyline, when the Egg Carrier fell into Red Mountain, and the team decide to see what happens when they used Naughty Nack's shrinking technology on the volcano; while the volcano shrinks, the Egg Carrier doesn't, and it causes the contents to spurt upwards. Team Eggman plays Lava Reef en route Sandopolis, as they want a Chaos Emerald for Chaos Emerl.
