Lady Singulon
LadySingulon
Information
Age Unknown, speculates to be as old as time
Species Rayon, a species of black hole deities
Abilities Dark magic, seemingly indestructible
Appearances Appears in Kirby and the Celestial War as the main antagonist

Appearance[]

Lady Singulon, despite being in the Kirby universe, has a humanoid figure. She looks like an anthropomorphic cross between a wolf and a lioness. Her fur is a very pale lavender, and she has a pair of ivory antlers resembling a deer’s. She wears a black formal coat with a grey shirt underneath, dark blue jeans, and a bright orange tie. Despite being animal-like, she has no physical tail, it being assumably replaced by her jacket’s coattails. Her four eyes have a solid black schlera with pupilless orange irises. Her dramatically different appearance alienates her from Kirby and the species on Popstar, making her a formidable antagonist.

Personality[]

Singulon is generally very formal, acting like the leader of a strong foreign country. She does; however, have a suppressed savage side, shown when Kirby and his allies stand between her and Popstar. Her main flaw is her wish for the universe to be stable and in control. However, in her eyes, this goal is obtained by her taking over the universe’s celestial bodies, ie planets, stars, comets, etc.

Role and Moveset[]

Singulon appears as the main antagonist in Kirby and the Celestial War. She sees Planet Popstar as an incredibly valuable gain, since it holds the six Guardians of Celeste and their shrines. By launching her forces, the Rayons, to conquer Popstar, she inevitably starts the Celestial War. She is fought in the boss stages in the first five worlds in the game, trying to stop Kirby, Dedede, Bandana Dee, Meta Knight, and Marx from obtaining the shrines of the Guardians. After the sixth world, once Kirby and co. obtain the Daylight Shrine, she attacks all five of them. Once defeated, and once Celeste is summoned by activating the six shrines, she reveals her true demonic form and attacks Kirby and co. When she is weakened (ie when defeated in the level), Kirby uses Celeste’s power to banish her and end her reign across the universe.

Normal Moveset[]

The following moves are encountered when you battle Singulon in the first six worlds.

Move Description
Swipe Singulon imbues her paw with dark energy and claws at the player. Leaves behind dark streaks in the air for a moment.
Dark Tackle Singulon dives at the player and slams down on all fours, sending a small wave of darkness out in front of her. If she makes contact with the player, she will grab them and slam them into the ground again. The waves can be inhaled if playing as Kirby, or countered with other attacks.
Ray Pulse Singulon retreats to one side of the arena and fires an arc of blue pulses in front of her. The pulses can be inhaled or countered, and also grants the Laser copy ability if playing as Kirby. After the attack, Singulon is briefly stunned, and shakes off her dizziness afterwards.
Rayon Attack When her health hits the halfway point, Singulon retreats and Rayons take her place. The player must defeat all the Rayons (similar to Meta Knight battles in earlier games) to force Singulon out again.

Final Moveset[]

The following moves are encountered when you battle Singulon in the seventh world.

Move Description
Slash A more powerful rendition of the Swipe attack, Singulon slashes the air and sends dark claws at the player. Can be easily dodged by jumping over it.
Arena Slam A more powerful rendition of the Dark Tackle, Singulon leaps offscreen, then slams down in the middle. Three shockwaves radiate outward afterwards, and must be avoided. Unlike its predecessor, the waves cannot be countered.
X-Ray Jet A more powerful rendition of the Ray Pulse, Singulon blasts two pulses from each side of the screen, followed by her jumping to the top middle of the screen and fires a large laser beam. If caught in the center of the blast, it is a one-hit KO. The two smaller blasts can be countered/inhaled and grants the Laser copy ability. She stands stunned in the middle afterwards.
Rayon Beam Singulon fires a bolt of darkness at the player which, if not countered/inhaled, spawns a random Rayon minion.
Sudden Slam Periodically, Singulon performs a swipe move to attempt to grab the player or a CPU. If the attack connects, she throws them at another player/CPU, damaging both of them.
Shadow Retreat Each time the player drains 1/4 of Singulon’s health, she phases into the ground and, after a brief reprive, explodes outwards from the center, similar to one of Marx’s moves. It is possible for Marx to damage her while in this state if he phases into the ground as well.
