Donkey Kong 64 (1999)

Kosha is a small, olive green-skinned Kremling who debuts in Donkey Kong 64. It wears a metal Viking-esque helmet to protect it from attacks and yields a giant, spiked club. Its name is a pun on cosh, a small club.

Appearances in video games[]

Donkey Kong 64[]

In Donkey Kong 64, Kosha appears in Gloomy Galleon, Fungi Forest [during the night], Crystal Caves, and Creepy Castle. Two also patrol the Creepy Castle anteroom.

Kosha's helmet protects it from most of the Kongs' moves, including frontal attacks. It has trouble carrying around its giant club. If the active Kong approaches Kosha, it swings its weapon at him or her. The Kong loses two watermelon slices from his or her health bar if successfully hit. Kosha occasionally slams its weapon at the ground to attack; if it misses, it momentarily struggles to lift up its club. Sometimes the club accidentally hits Kosha's head. The active Kong also has an opportunity to toss an Orange Grenade at Kosha to defeat it. He or she can also perform his or her musical instrument move or shockwave attack to defeat Kosha. If it is defeated, it supplies two watermelon slices.

Kosha has a larger member of itself: Giant Kosha. Only one appears near the top of Crystal Caves. It frequently slams its club, in proportion to a normal Kosha's, harshly triggering a tremulous shower of stalactites. If Chunky places a boulder on its appropriate switch, a nearby ice block breaks open and reveals a Kong Pad for Tiny to transport to the Giant Kosha. She can defeat it via her shockwave attack or her Saxophone Slam. When she defeats the Kosha, Crystal Caves no longer has stalactite showers and can be explored in peace.
