Koopalings: Twisted Soldiers is the sequel to the game Koopalings Koopaquest. It was created by Nintendo and was released on June 25, 2018. It was released on the Wii U, 3DS, and Nintendo Switch.

Characters (In order of unlocking)

Lemmy Koopa: Can bounce higher than the other Koopalings with his ball, and can shoot bouncy balls out of his wand. He is the second fastest of the Koopalings and the least strong.

Larry Koopa: Can shoot energy beams out of his wand that can activate mechanisims and hurt enemies. He is the third fastest Koopaling and 6th strongest.

Morton Koopa Jr: Can smash things with his magical hammer and can ground pound to stun enemies and release fireballs. He is the 6th fastest Koopaling and second strongest.

Iggy Koopa: Can shoot quick green fireballs from his wand, and can walk up certain walls. He is the fastest Koopaling and 4th strongest.

Roy Koopa: Can shoot normal energy beams, they do not bounce. Roy can also use his Bill Blaster to break things. He also can stun the ground and go underground then pop back up. He is the strongest Koopaling but the slowest Koopaling.

Wendy O. Koopa: Can skate on water and is most graceful in water. She can also shoot rings from her wand, multiple at a time. She is the third quickest and fifth strongest.

Ludwig Von Koopa: Can multiply himself and teleport. He can shoot many fireballs at once and can flutter jump. He is the third strongest and fourth quickest.

Plot

Oh no! The evil Mario has turned the entirety of Bowser´s army to his side--- including Bowser! Only the Koopalings remain. Fight your way to Peach´s castle, and turn the twisted soldiers back to your side!

Gameplay

Koopalings: Twisted Soldiers is a 2D platformer game, unlike the previous Koopalings Koopaquest, which was in 3D. There are 8 Worlds you must go through, each one with a different Koopaling to play as. However, in the 8th world, you play as Bowser Jr. Each world has a number of diffrent levels, a Dark Boom Boom fight or Kamek fight, and a boss.

Twisted Soldiers

In each world, there are Twisted Soldiers you can turn back to your side, and add to your team. However, this is optional. But there is another mode called RPG Battles mode, where you can use the Twisted Soldiers you brought to your team in battle. However, your team of un- Twisted Soldiers do nothing in the normal mode.

Bosses

Dark Boom: Can stretch his fists to punch the player , while safe his Dark Field. He can also generate Dark Fields around himself so the player cannot damage him. He is the miniboss of every world excep worlds 7 and 8. Every time you battle him, he gets bigger and stronger.

Doctor Mario: The World 1 boss. During the battle, he flies in a rocket chair and throws pills down at you. He can also get a giant X-Ray laser and make skeleton enemies attack you. To damage him, you must bounce the pills back up at Doctor Mario, since you are Lemmy. On his final stage, Doctor Mario get a giant needle gun and shoots homing needle missles at you.

Wario-Man: The World 2 boss. He flies up around the arena, which is WarioWare, INC. He summons random minigames that you have to complete, or else you will get damaged. After a set of minigames, Wario farts at you and does other weird attacks. As Larry, you need to hit him with an energy beam, making him fall. Then you can damage him. Things stay this way but in his third stage, Wario summons Ashley to attack you.

Brobot: The World 3 boss. Toad found it in the dump, then brought it back to life. It can shoot homing missles and can also shoot lasers. These attacks can break some of the arena, making the fight more difficult. After a while, BroBot jumps down onto the arena. It tries to do melee attacks, like punching, and also ground pounding. But as Morton, you need to smash the machine with your hammer to damage it. On the final stage, when Brobot jumps down, after doing the normal attacks, the Toad jumps out and eats a Mega Mushroom, and gets huge. You must hammer its feet to make it fall, then you can beat the boss.

Fierce: The World 4 boss. He is battle atop a canyon, and you are on the other side. He shoots fire and ice to try and damage you and freeze you for a bit. He also sends out dragons to try and swoop in to attack you. He can use Fire Punch, Ice Punch, a thing when where his mouth extends and tries to eat you call Chompity Chomp, Headbutt, where he takes his head off and throws it at you like a boomerang,Spintop, where he spins around, then crashes down, partially damaging the arena, and much, much more. To damage him, you must wait until he uses Spintop, when he will land on your side. Dodge the stun waves, then wait until he gets his hands stuck in the canyon. Then, you can hit him with your fireballs. This happens again, but in the third stage, he gets so angry that he turns into Fierce Unleashed and he slams the arena so much that it breaks, and you both land into a river down below. Then, the underwater final segment starts. Fierce tries to freeze the water, so you must watch out for all the attacks, and for the Twisted Cheeps and Cheep Chomps. To attack him, you must wait until Fierce freezes the whole river, then go on top of it. You can them attack him, but quickly, because Fierce is trying to break the ice.

Twisted King Boo: The World 5 boss. He can make the entire arena shift, and can multiply himself. He can also lick, spew fireballs, and shoot giant lasers from his gem. He can summon Twisted Boos to attack, and also break parts of the arena with only the thought of it. To damage him, you must wait until he swoops down to attack you. Then, as Roy, you must blast his gem with your Bill Blaster. On the third stage, he turns into Nightmare Bowser, like in the first Luigi´s Mansion.

Builder Luigi: The World 6 boss. He has many different attacks. He can use his hammer to create many different parts to attack Wendy. He can also change the style of the arena, turning it to Jungle, Castle, and more. His first main attack is sending out a giant Mr. Eraser in an attempt to erase you and the arena. You must shoot rings at it, and once you damage it enough, it will fall. Then you can throw it into the throne Builder Luigi sits in in the background, damaging him. In the second stage, his new main attack is the hand that moves everything around. The hand will move the arena or parts of the arena into different places, so you have to be light on your feet. While this is happening, Builder Luigi also throws down Twisted Koopas. You must throw their shells at the hand to make it stop. The final main attack is when Builder Luigi sets off the Reset Rocket. You must quickly shoot rings at the three windows on the rocket before it destroys the entire arena and you. after doing that, Builder Luigi comes out of his throne in fury, and starts running around very quickly. Shoot a ring at him and you will beat the boss.

Airship Monitor: The World 7 miniboss.

Twisted Bowser: The World 7 boss. You encounter him when you are about to enter World 8, when he stops you. The battle takes place on Twisted Bowser´s airship, and is the first battle in the game to take place on an airship. At the beginning, he is a normal size, and he takes multiple different forms. His first form is Meowser, when he can scratch, breathe fireballs, pounce, climb up walls, and all the other abilities Meowser has in 3D World. To beat that form, you must wait until the Dark Fields surrounding the Spike Mines go off, then you must make Meowser pounce at one of them. His second form is Wedding Bowser from Super Mario Odyssey. He can throw his punching hat, throw those block thingies, breathe fire (harder this time), stun the ground and make fire over it, make it rain moonstones, claw, and ground pound. To damage this form, you must steal his hat then wait until Wedding Bowser makes it rain moonstones. You then must punch one near Bowser. It will explode, and he will move on to the third form. The third form is Paper Bowser from the Paper Mario games. He can breathe fire, claw, send lightning with the Star Rod, become invincible with the Star Rod, summon paper enemies, punch, and fold. To beat this form, you must wait until Paper Bowser becomes invincible. He will be tired afterwards, then you must duplicate yourself and distract him, and he will charge slowly at one of the Ludwigs. While he does this, he drops the Star Rod. You need to take it to beat this form.

Twisted Giga Bowser: The second stage of the Twisted Bowser boss. After beating the three forms, you can proceed and get a checkpoint. However, after you get the checkpoint, you hear a rumbling sound, and you see a giant Twisted Giga Bowser emerge in the background. It roars, and a giant chase begins. You need to run through the airship, and it is similar to the NSMB Wii Bowser fight. Bowser will breathe fireballs, swipe from the background, attempt to punch you, and summon other airships to shoot cannons. The cannons can break the airship, making the fight even harder. All this while also going through tricky platforming sections of the airship. Once you reach the end, you need to board the airship Twisted Bowser summoned, defeat the Twisted Koopa on board, then shoot cannons at Twisted Bowser. You must do this many times, all while dodging the fireballs that could break your airship. Shoot him enough, and you´ll finally win the battle.

Princess Peach: The World 8 miniboss. At first, it looks like an easy fight, because it is just Dark Boom. But, right when the fight is about to begin, a giant robot hand swoops in and crushes Dark Boom. Then, the real battle begins against Peach in the scavenged Castle of Fury. The main attack of this boss is to create a black hole to attempt to suck Bowser Jr. in. The hole also shoots out mini UFOs that shoot giant lasers and send out a Shroobs to attack you. To get to the next part, you must make Peach aim the hands at the UFOs, destroying them. To damage the boss, you must wait until the Castle of Fury charges up its fists to try and totally destroy you. If you dodge the attack, the robot hands will get stuck in the arena, and you can walk onto the robot and destroy one of the Dark Field generators that surround the head of the castle. Besides the main attacks, the Castle of Fury has a wide selection of ways to damage you. It can smash its spikes at you, breathe giant fireballs, shoot giant rockets, swipe, send out a laser beam from the top of the castle, summon Twisted Soldiers to attack you, fly up and attempt to crush the arena, and much more. To damage the robot in the second stage, you must wait until it tries to eat you. Jump in, and take out another Dark Field generator while dodging twisted Mechas.

World 1: Peaceful Plains

W1-1 Bouncy Greens: A peaceful area where you are taught the basics of Lemmy´s abilities.

W1-2: Rocky Roads: An undeground level where pointy rocks can pop Lemmy´s ball.

W1-Boss Boom´s Moving Platforms: A level where you go up an elevator to Dark Boom. Be sure to get rid of the Twisted Bullies, or they´ll weigh you down!

W1-3 Puzzles and Balls: A puzzle level where you have to use Lemmy´s balls to activate mechanisims and what not.

World 1, Peaceful Plains

W1-4 Twisted Plants: A grassland where plants have overun everything. Watch out for thorns and Pirana Plants!

W1-Castle Dr.Mario´s Horrific Hospital: An abandoned old hospital sinking into

World 2: Popular Pop-Land

lava. Dr.Mario awaits at the end.

World 2: Popular Popland

W2-1 The Convention: A big convention place, where you must dodge all sorts of different types of media, and try to find the three keys to escape.

W2-2 Undrground Heroes: An underground autoscoroller where you must avoid superheroes flying towards you while also shooting power switches with your wand to continue.

W2-Boss The Twisted Press: A comic press taken over by lots of twisted soldiers and Dark Boom. Defeat Dark Boom to turn on the comic press and leave.

W2-3 When Anime Attacks: Just run man. Just run from the anime.

W2-4 The Forgotten Convention: After returning to the convention, you realise the whole place has been overuled. Make your way through the place to discover what happened.

W2-Castle: Wario´s Unpopular Place: Make your way through WarioWare INC and attempt to stop Wario from taking over Popland.

World 3: Mechakoopz, INC.

W3-1 Conveyor Beltway: A giant manufacturing area. Avoid being shipped into lava, attacked by Twisted Mechas, and most of all, the evil cardboard cyborg that waks throughout the level.

W3-2 Electrical Interference: An outside area with lots and lots of electricity. Fix some mechanisims with your strength and dodge thunder, lightning, and robots.

W3-Boss Boom´s Robotic Rampage: A gauntlet of robots and machines. Take them down and fight a new and improved Cyborg Boom!

W3-3 The Secret Weaponry: An area with lots of weapons. Discover the company´s secrets and escape unscathed.

W3-4 The Leader: Escape from the leader of Mechakoopz, INC: Mecha-Toad. Run throughout the area without being caught by Mecha-Toad.

W3-Boss Brobot Returns: An epic battle on top of the company against Mecha-Toad in Brobot. To get to them, climb the tower while dodging their attacks.

World 4: DryHigh Canyons

W4-1 Fire and Ice: Two worlds to travel to. Iggy must travel to these elemental worlds and finish the level by collecting the two keys.

W4-2 The Fire Factory: A factory where the company for some apparent reason makes lava. Go throughout it, and find the manager, the Big Bully.

W4-Boss Boom´s Colliding Airship: An airship where both fire and ice are in the same area. This could get crazy... Get to Boom and defeat him, on an ice or fire dragon. Your choice.

W4-3 Ice Incorporated: The exact opposite of the Fire Factory. However, this is an outside company in the North Pole, and you don´t want to end up like Captain America... Find a way to beat the manager, Chill Bully.

W4-4 Lava Run Run Run!: You better run, because lots of fire and lava is chasing you! Run up walls, dodge obstacles, and do whatever it takes to get out safely.

W4-Boss The Climb to the Canyons: Get to the top of the canyons, but watch out for the fire that can burn your vine and make you fall! Reach the castle and take down Fierce.

World 5: Floating Mansions

W5-1 Something´s Not Right: It´s a peaceful overworld area... or is it? Things are definitely wrong. Uncover the mystery with your big, stong hands.

W5-2 A Shark In The Depths Below: A level based on The Spectral Catch from LM3. Walk across the haunted pier and watch out for Captain Fishook! You may even have to dive into the water... But never mind that! Fight that scurvy scallywag and get out of there!

W5-Boss Boom´s Paranormal Conundrum: Boom has earned very odd powers! It might have something to do with E. Gadd... Go through his lab and steal a worthy weapon to defeat Boom without being caught by E. Gadd!

W5-3 Flying Through the Ghostly Blocks: Get in a flying machine and use your Bill Blaster to break blocks and keep away ghosts! Watch out for Boolossus...

W5-4 Climbing Up ScareScraper: Climb up ScareScraper and complete objectives on each floor. But beware, I don´t think Boolossus will take kindly for what you did last time...

W5-Boss A King´s Throne: Be prepared! Get through all of King Boo´s ghostly minions , then battle him yourself! Things are gonna get hot in here!

World 6: Freezing Block City

W6-1 All Themed Up: The themes of this level keep changing! Survive all the different environments and get to the end safely.

W6-2 The Block Barrage: A level where you must skate across the ice and dodge the incoming ? Blocks that are coming towards you. In the second half, giant blocks come that split into smaller ones.

W6-Boss Boom´s Mecha Suits: Boom´s powered himself to the max! Get through the freezing factory of suits, and put one on to stand a chance against the final Boom...

W6-3 Welcome to Lake Lamode: Go into the classic SMO location, but frozen, use your rings to break the ice and hopefully don´t freeze to death. Quickly enter the plaza to complete the level.

W-6-4 Super Sound Stadium: A battle with Soundfrog! He isn´t too happy with you. Win and you can escape!

W6-Boss: The World´s (Second) Best Builder: A face off against Builder Luigi! Get through his castle and fight Yamamura. Get to his throne room and face him off!

World 7: The Super Armada

W7-1 Steering the Airship: Take the wheel, as well as your ship, to battle! Control the airship, attack other ships, and maintain your crew!

W7-2 A Castle Forgotten: Bowser´s old flying castle from Paper Mario. It fell onto a very big airship, and it was barely able to support its weight. Navigate the castle and battle some paper enemies.

W7-Boss The Great Sky Battle: Hop from airship to airship and fight all the enemies, until you make it to the Airship Monitor´s ship! Defeat the ghost and continue.

W7-3 Going Too High: A UFO is creating a field stopping you from getting to the next area! Try and use your airship to get up to it! Explore the planets, and get to.... Gulliver! What are you doing here?! Battle him to turn off the generator.

W7-4 The Ship Split In Half: Is ghis game glitching? All the airships are litterally splitting apart! Solve the puzzle and get the ships back to normal.

W7-Boss Bowser´s Doubledecker Ship: Bowser´s got a nice ship! Go through all the floors, and fight Twisted Pom, Boom, and Soundfrog. Once you get to Bowser, the real battle begins!

World 8: Peach´s Castle

W8-1 Through the Frames: Travel through all of Princess Peach´s picture frames and end up in familiar places such as Bob-omb Battlefield and Thwomp´s Fortress.

W8-2 Tennis Aces: An abandoned tennis court. Battle many enemies in an odd match of tennis, and use the elevator to battle the champion: Waluigi!

W8-Boss The Castle Bot: A castle with abandoned UFOs scattered throughout the courtyard. When you come to the tower, you´ll find something you wished you had forgotten...

W8-4 Coloring Up: An elevator ride, however, you´re attacked by colored pencils, enemies, and more! A cameo fight with Colored Pencils from Paper Mario: TOK.

W8-5: A Shadowy Clone: Bowser Jr. comes face to face with Shadow Mario! Battle him and traverse through a familar Delfino Plaza.

W8-Boss: The Final Countdown: We´re finnally here! Traverse through the toughest castle of them all, and battle Mario. Free the Twisted Soldiers from the curse!

Amibo Compatibility

This game is compatible with Amibo! If you scan any Koopalings/Bowser Jr. Amibo, you can play as that character, no matter what world you´re in after you´ve completed the game. If you´re playing the game for the first time, you´ll instead get to play the first level of the world that Koopaling appears in. You´ll also get some coins and randomized power ups. Any Mario amibo: With any Mario amibo, a cutscene will play, and you´ll get a sneak peek of what Mario is doing, and a mini level. Depending on which Mario amibo you use, you´ll get different cutscenes and mini levels. If you use Builder Mario, you´ll get stuff from Freezing Block City, Smash Bros Mario, maybe something from a SSB, who knows? Toad/Princess Peach amibo: You´ll see what they´re building, and see some parts of Peach´s castle as a mini level. If you use Captain Toad, you´ll unlock the secret unused boss.

• The ¨Koopalings Koopaquest¨ game mentioned at the beginning is actually taken from a name suggestion from the Dr. Wily Youtube video, A KOOPALINGS GAME? What Would It Look Like?
• The ¨RPG Battles Mode" will probably be scrapped, but the idea came from Minion Quest: The Search For Bowser for the 3DS.
• The boss ¨Fierce¨ is a play on words of the words ¨fire¨ and ¨ice.¨
• The name ¨Popular Pop-Land¨ was partly inspired from Kirby´s home planet, Popstar.
• World 5 is heavily based on Luigi´s Mansion 3.
• Some abilities given to the Koopalings are taken from the NSMB series, if you haven´t noticed.
• Dr. Mario originally had different artwork, but then I decided to change it
