Koopa Kart Live is an installment in the Koopa Kart series released for the Nintendo Switch in 2022. Unlike Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, it does not require a physical kart with a camera attached to the back of it, and it livestreams real life locations other than the player's home. Like most Koopa Kart games, there are twelve racers on each track in this game.
Koopa Kart Live plays similarly to previous installments, except the gimmick is virtual reality. As such, the tracks in this game are based on real life locations.
Strikes all opponents with Lightning, shrinking them and making them lose their items. Racers who are already small will grow back to normal. Everyone simultaneously grows back after 15 seconds. Mega and Mini Mushroom drivers will revert to normal size.
Shrinks any racer that runs into it. If a player drives into it while they're small, they will revert to normal. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense.
Targets the nearest racer ahead of the user and flips them over. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense. Loses its homing ability when thrown backward.
Targets the racer in 1st place and dives onto it, tossing them upwards with an explosion. Flies much lower to the ground on its way to the leader, allowing it to hit other players in its path. It will then take flight once it passes the 2nd place racer.
Turns the user invisible and allows them to steal a random item and drive through walls. If an item cannot be found, it will give the player a Triple Mushroom.
Imitates an Item Box, except the question mark is upside down. From a distance, it has a normal question mark, only turning upside down upon approaching. Flips over anyone who hits it. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense.
Acts like a Red Shell, except it freezes the racer it hits. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense. Does not lose its homing ability when thrown backward.
When thrown or dropped, starts a countdown before exploding, tossing any kart within its blast radius into the air. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense, though it will explode on impact.
When placed on the track, defends the racer from every item except for Lightning and Blue Spiny Shells. Once hit, it will split into three smaller Bananas.
Acts like a Red Shell, except it traps the racer it hits in the ground. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense. Does not lose its homing ability when thrown backward.
Squirts ink on all racers ahead of the user, obstructing their vision. The effect eventually wears off, but can be removed with a speed boost. The amount of ink on the screen depends on the player's position.
Hovers above the receiver and strikes them with lightning after ten seconds. The user will shrink and move slowly. However, if the user is already small, that racer will grow back to normal. Prior to this, the player has higher speed and acceleration while not losing speed when driving off-road, and may pass the cloud to another racer by bumping into them.
Makes you temporarily big and allows you to flatten opponents by running them over. Increases your speed and off-road. Getting struck by Lightning while big will return you to normal, and you can be hit by racers wielding Stars and Bullet Bills.
Appears above the kart as a hidden timer, causing all opponents ahead of the user to spin out and lose their items as long as they're on the ground. This item can be avoided if any racer are airborne while the third strike goes off.
Allows you to throw fireballs, spinning out nearby racers. Up to three fireballs can be on the screen at a time. Disappears once ten fireballs are thrown.
Hovers above the receiver and strikes any racer that tries to steal it without an invincibility item with lightning. Can strike up to three racers before it disappears. While the cloud is active, the user receives a boost in speed, acceleration, and handling while not losing speed while going off-road.
Acts like the Mega Mushroom, except it protects you from every item and increases you handling, drift, and mini-turbo in addition to speed and off-road.
Acts like a Green Shell, except it explodes on the racer it hits, tossing them into the air. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense, though it will explode on impact.
The Bubble encases the racer in a bubble and allows them to float for a short period of time. However, the racer won't be able to hurt other racers, and the bubble will pop if they get hit by an item, a certain amount of time passes by, they pass a certain amount of racers, or get into 1st place.
The humongous Dry Bowser Shell will plow through anyone in its path, knocking them over and making them lose their items. It can target up to five opponents before breaking.
Acts like a Red Shell, except it targets up to three opponents before exploding on the last racer, tossing them into the air. Can be held behind the kart as a means of defense, blocking up to three items before exploding. Does not lose its homing ability when thrown backward.
Allows you to throw ice balls, spinning out nearby racers. Up to three ice balls can be on the screen at a time. Disappears once ten ice balls are thrown.
Makes you temporarily small and allows you to move faster, jump higher, and drive on water. Getting struck by Lightning or a Lightning Cloud while small will return you to normal.
When thrown, hovers above the racer it hits, raining on them for ten seconds and decreasing their handling. The user may pass the cloud to another racer by bumping into them.
When thrown, hovers above the racer it hits, freezing them for five seconds and temporarily reducing their traction. The user may pass the cloud to another racer by bumping into them.
Allows you to throw superballs, flipping over other racers. Only two superballs can be on the screen at a time. Disappears once ten superballs are thrown.
