The Star gives you invincibility, allowing you to bowl over players and protect yourself from every single item. The effect lasts for 7.5 seconds. | 7th-12th |
![]() |
The Lightning item will zap everyone except you, slowing them down and making them drop their items. If you're in last place, you will grow back almost instantly. However, if you're in first place, you will be small for a long time. | 9th-12th |

- This is the only Koopa Kart game to have the Blue Spiny Shell Cup as a nitro cup. Starting from Koopa Kart DS, the Blue Spiny Shell Cup will be a retro cup.
- This is the last Koopa Kart game where Lakitu is a heavyweight, as he will become a middleweight.
- This is the only Koopa Kart game to not feature any new characters. It also introduces the least amount of items out of any Koopa Kart game, as there is only one new item in this game.
