Kirby Iron Fist is an upcoming 2D action-adventure game to be made by HAL Laboratory and distributed by Nintendo. It's U.S.A. release is set to be on November 30, 2023.

Synopsis

Shortly after Kirby and his robobot, Maria, defeat an opponent robobot named Harold, two metallic cyborg robobots bust their way into PCT’s arena complex.

These two cyborgs act passive and have a friendly demeanor at first, but about a week after Maria’s competition, the two cyborgs terrorize PCT’s local oil drilling sites.

The two cyborgs also terrorize Platinum City’s nuclear plant by causing its internal systems to malfunction, resulting in a nuclear meltdown which devastates Platinum City.

Kirby and his robobot, Maria, must follow the two cyborgs along a 5 region trip within a strange, even more technologically advanced nearby enemy city called Rusty Rapids, whose workers are manufacturing nuclear weapons to use against Platinum City. Rusty Rapids is a city that is despised by Platinum City, and Platinum City’s news reporters always talk about Rusty Rapids’ authoritarian regimes and bioweapons.

The majority of K:IF’s levels take place underground in Rusty Rapids’ laboratories, where such weapons, formulas, and even military combat robobots are being produced. Kirby and Maria must defeat many military combat robot bosses, deactivate and destroy many of RR’s nuclear weapons and bioweapons along the way.

Trivia

  • In one of this game’s cutscenes, it is revealed that Maria has a special solar panel that is hidden inside her right arm. She lifts the flap off of it, to show Kirby where her solar panel is located. It’s called a “Hidden Emergency Solar Panel”, or “HESP” for short.
  • Rusty Rapids’ weapon crafters happen to be haltworkers, with many of them wearing reading spectacles and lab coats. They also seem to be very social and talk to each other about their takeover plans, as seen in the cutscenes.
  • Rusty Rapids’ weapon crafters might have been HWC’s haltworkers that got drafted off to RR by Mr. Haltmann, as they seem to recognize and know about him very well. If that is not the case, then the RR weapon crafters heard about Mr. Haltmann on their news TVs inside their dormitories.
  • Most of this game’s levels are based on the laboratory levels from “Kirby: Planet Robobot”. However, most of K:IF’s laboratory levels’ designs and demeanor are more dark and grim, with more realistic lab elements like more realistic obstacles and enemies.
  • Rusty Rapids can be thought of as the KPR series’ equivalent of Pyongyang, North Korea. Thus, Platinum City can be thought of as the KPR series’ equivalent of Seoul, South Korea.
