The Kirby series is a major Nintendo series that focuses on a pink puffball named Kirby who is able to suck up enemies and gain their abilities. Kirby often clashes with King Dedede and Meta Knight, while getting help from friends, such as Knuckle Joe and Chilly. Kirby Super Star is sometimes considered to be a subseries. The Kirby series is a second party Nintendo series as the property is owned by HAL.


Canon Games

The Kirby Franchise has had a variety of Games across its lifetime and most tend to conform to a trend set in the second main Series Kirby Game, Kirby's Adventure for the NES. Most Kirby Games feature Kirby running through Dreamland or one of its neighbouring celestial bodies to undo the damage done by an individual, group of individuals or army.(AKA King Dedede)

There have been various Spin-Offs appearing in the Kirby Series although most appeared during the early years of the series two of the better known Spin-Offs; Kirby Air Ride and the Curse Games have been more recent.

In the Super Smash Bros. series

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Kirby properties are found in great amounts. In SSBR, Kirby and King Dedede are playable, while Frosty appears as an Assist Trophy. Meta Knight appears as a boss. In SSBF, Kirby, Storo, Spinni, Meta Knight, and Dedede are thus playable, with a Vegtable Valley and a black and white Kirby stage appear. In Super Smash Bros. Clash, Kirby, Spinni, King Dedede, and Meta Knight are confirmed characters, with a stage named Orange Ocean also confirmed. The Rock Star theme is also confirmed, it is confirmed to appear in a Kirby Stage, possibly Orange Ocean. In New Smash Bros Game (untitled), Kirby is a playable character. Dedede is ALSO a character in the game. One of the items is a Star Rod. There is a Dreamland stage, as well as a Castle Wall stage. One monster is a Knight. In SSB8, all the characters from Brawl appear, but it's unknown who will join next. Brandon decides to make Knuckle Joe, however, keeps on thinking about the special moves.

In Smash Tactics, Kirby has a team of his own. The hero is Kirby, the workers are Waddle Dees and buildings include the Shooting Star Shrine.

Kirby Super Star (1996) King Dedede's most loyal servant, but also a great ally of Kirby. Early on only distinguished from other Waddle Dees with his blue bandana, Bandana Waddle Dee is able to master the spear as of Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

Kirby's Dream Land (1992) Waddle Dees are generally Dedede's minions, but cute and harmless. When Kirby inhales one, he won't get a Copy Ability, however, he will get one when they just so happen to carry a Parasol.
Waddle Doo
Kirby's Dream Land (1992) Waddle Doos are a variant of Waddle Dee that have, in place of a tan face, a huge eyeballs they shoot beams with. Kirby gets the Beam Copy Ability from these guys.
Whispy Woods
Kirby's Dream Land (1992) A big tree with a face. He, or a variation, generally appears as the first boss in a Kirby game, generally attacking by shaking off apples from his branches or blowing gusts of wind.

Kirby's Dream Land (1992) This spiky, one-eyed cloud is a recurring boss in the Kirby franchise that attacks with bolts of lightning or summoning Waddle Doos. Sometimes appears in his Kracko Jr. form first.

Kirby's Adventure (1993) The Nightmare Wizard, better known as simply Nightmare, is a wicked character responsible for corrupting the Fountain of Dreams. He desired to spread nightmares across Dream Land, but is halted in the process when Dedede broke the Star Rod.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 (1995) The first three of Kirby's Animal Friends. Rick is an energetic hamster, Kine is a carefree sunfish and Coo is a helpful owl. Kirby can share his Copy Abilities with Rick, Kine and Coo when he rides them, in order to obtain alternate effects.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 (1995) A friendly, but absent-minded creature made of Dark Matter. Just like Kirby, he can lick up enemies and take their abilities. Kirby Star Allies, however, gave Gooey a new moveset based on his Copy Abilities.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 (1995) A recurring antagonist in early Kirby games, Dark Matter is a shadowy being that is able to possess and corrupt other characters. There's actually more beings of Dark Matter, produced by a creature known as Zero.

Kirby's Dream Land 3 (1997) The seemingly true master of Dark Matter, as it's able to produce more of them on a whim. Zero 2 from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is his resurrected form.

Kirby Super Star (1995) A large, metal bird that Kirby is tasked to defeat since she is ruining the crops of Dream Land. However, Kirby learned that Dyna Blade was just trying to feed her chicks.

Kirby Super Star (1995) A Chef can cook food. He is the mini-boss from Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra. Kawasaki can trow plates, and grab to the opponent with a large spoon when Kirby is fighting him. In the Minigame Quick Draw, If Kawasaki is fighting with Kirby by a Duel, if the "!!" sign was appeared, You need to defeat him berfore he is attacking you first.
Kirby Super Star (1995) A little jester that warns Kirby that the sun and moon are fighting, requesting him to ask Galactic Nova for help. However, his true intention was to gain control over Planet Popstar.
Galactic Nova
Kirby Super Star (1995) An all-mighty comet that is able to grant a wish when being summoned, which will happen when the fountains of the planets around Popstar are harnessed. Marx used it to gain power over Planet Popstar.
Nago, ChuChu and Pitch Kirby's Dream Land 3 (1997) Three more of Kirby's Animal Friends. Nago's a cat, ChuChu is an octopus and Pitch a tiny bird. Just like with Rick, Kine and Coo, Kirby can ride (or in Pitch's case, carry) them and share his Copy Abilities with them.

Kirby's Dream Land 3 (1997) Also Known as Ado, Adeleine is a friend of Kirby, able to make paintings and living drawings. In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, she will aid Kirby by drawing health items.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (2000) A small fairy from Ripple Star. When Dark Matter seized control over her queen's planet and shattered the Crystal in several shards, Ribbon crashes to Popstar, and meets Kirby, aiding him to gather all the shards.

Kirby: Right Back at Ya! (2001) Also know as Bun/ブン in Japanese. He appears in the Kirby Anime series, but, Tuff did not appears in Kirby games. Is Kirby's best friend, Tiff's brother and son of Sir Ebrum and Lady Like, and he lives with Tiff and his parents in Cappy Town.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (2004) An evil Meta Knight from the Mirror World, created by the Dimension Mirror when Meta Knight hurried to save the Mirror World. As of Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Dark Meta Knight's abilities are often paired with the mystical Dimension Mirror.
Dark Mind
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (2004) An evil deity that corrupted the Dimensional Mirror and the Mirror World within. Meta Knight went in an attempt to defeat him, but ended up defeated himself when the Dimensional Mirror made Dark Meta Knight.
Kirby Canvas Curse (2005) A powerful sorceress that wanted to turn Dream Land into a piece of artwork to rule over. Kirby has to stop her when he got possession over the Magical Paintbrush.

Kirby Squeak Squad (2007) The leader of the Squeak Squad, a group of treasure raiders, aiming for a treasure that grants him and his crew endless power. He ended up corrupted when he accidentally unsealed Dark Nebula.

Kirby Squeak Squad (2007) An all-powerful evil that was sealed inside a chest inside Dedede's castle. Meta Knight tried to protect it after steaking it from Daroach, but Daroach has regained the chest and ultimately became victim to Dark Nebula.
Galacta Knight
Kirby Super Star Ultra (2008) The greatest warrior in the galaxy, Meta Knight once desired to challenge him. He has since been sealed in another dimension, although he has been challenged a few times afterwards.

Kirby's Epic Yarn (2010) The young prince of Patch Land, who Kirby aids when the sorcerer Yin-Yarn unstitched Patch Land into five pieces. Both Fluff and Kirby (after being turned into a piece of yarn) have the ability to transform into various things and use a whip made out of yarn.
Kirby's Epic Yarn (2010) A mean sorcerer that split Patch land into five pieces, and wants to conquer Dream Land with his own woven minions. He turned Kirby into a string of yarn and teleported him to Patch Land after Kirby ate his Metamato.
Kirby Mass Attack (2011) The leader of the Skull Gang, whose desire is to coat Planet Popstar's light into an endless darkness. Recognizing Kirby as a threat, he split Kirby up in ten and eliminates nine of them.

Kirby and friends aid him by repairing his ship, Lor Starcutter, but Magolor ends up tricking Kirby by defeating Landia and getting Master Crown, in order to gain ultimate power. As of Kirby's Dream Collection, Magolor seems to be friends with Kirby again.

Kirby Triple Deluxe (2013) A spider-like creature and servant to Queen Sectonia, tasked to kidnap the hero of Dream Land, mistaking King Dedede as such. Realizing Sectonia has been corrupted and become a danger to Floralia, Taranza switched sides and aids Kirby in taking her down.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (2015) A fairy who, together with her friend Claycia, created the world of Seventopia. When Claycia has turned evil, Elline encounters Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee, who aid her in saving Seventopia from the corrupted Claycia.
