Kirby: Sumo Arena is a multiplayer fighting game made by Nintendo and Hal Laboratory. It got released in June 1, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.
Story Mode
This game takes place in an alternative dimension where Kirby is a young Japanese puffball who lives in eastern Hokkaido. Who is always dressed up in his hammer outfit at all times. His mom is a tatami mat craftswoman and painter, and his dad is a fisherman and newspaper editor. One day, the local town newspaper, Yesso Weekly Special, advertises an almost defunct local sumo wrestling arena, which Kirby chooses to attend once a week.
Along the way, Kirby must fight against many different opponents
Kirby’s father publishes a new headline about Kirby’s sumo battle (in Yesso Weekly Special) each time the player wins a boss fight in Story Mode.
Kirby’s mother rewards him with 1 collectible painting each time he defeats a level in Story Mode.
