King K. Rool (also known as Kaptain K. Rool in Donkey Kong 2: Diddy Kong's Quest, Baron K. Roolenstein in Donkey Kong 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, and King Krusha K. Rool in Donkey Kong 64) is a new downloadable character introduced in Super Smash Bros. Calamity, bundled with the first DLC fighter pack along with Luffy, Rayman, Klonoa and Lilac.

Changes

Notice King K. Rool has been lifted from being a trophy character like he was in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. 3DS / Wii U, to a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Calamity.

Special attacks
Attack Name Description Damage
Neutral special Blunderbuss King K. Rool gets out a Blunderbuss, a cannon-like weapon he uses during his encounters in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest, under the alias "Kaptain K. Rool". Not charged, he fires a mist from the blunderbuss that poisons opponents, but deals no damage and takes a while for the mist to fire. Charged, King K. Rool shoots a cannonball forward that ignores gravity, which deals damage and knockback. Fully charged, King K. Rool fires a spiked cannonball that travels farther and faster, and is stronger. If a strong projectile hits the blunderbuss, it will explode, damaging King K. Rool. 0% (no charge)
9% (charged)
15% (fully charged)
6% (recoil)
Side special Krownerang King K. Rool tosses his crown forward, which stays in place after travelling a set distance, returning back to King K. Rool after staying in place for two seconds. This attack is an iconic attack from King K. Rool, originating from the first Donkey Kong Country game. 12% (clean)
7% (early)
5% (late/returning)
Up special HeliKopter Pack King K. Rool equips himself with a helicopter pack, which he uses during the events of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, under the alias of "Baron K. Roolenstein", flying upwards and can be controlled during the ascend. After travelling a certain distance, he will slowly float downwards, but it can be cancelled by pressing the down button/flicking the analog stick downwards. If attacked during the ascent or the descend with the pack still on him, the pack will malfunction and explode, damaging King K. Rool and leaving him helpless. 4% (rapidly; ascent)
5% (descend)
Down special Krushing Slam King K. Rool, if he is on the ground when the move is used, leaps upwards, and crashing back downwards in a belly-flop position, and buries grounded opponents and meteor smashing airborne opponents beneath him. 4% (leap)
12% (body slam)
Final Smash KAOS Summon King K. Rool summons KAOS, a large, rocket-propelled robot who starts firing eye lasers with his head while it floats around the arena, while the body extends a robotic arm with a punching glove to punch players. After fifteen seconds, KAOS leaves the battlefield. King K. Rool can still act during KAOS's time in the battlefield.
