King Boo is a retired character on Super Smash Stadium. He debuted two months into Season 26, alongside Luigi's Mansion, and saw 32 appearances in the three seasons he was active.
In his own universe[]
The apparent king of the Boos, despite not appearing until 13 (Japan)/11 (international) years after their debut, and despite other Boo leaders appearing in the intervening timeframe ("special" Big Boos in Super Mario World 1 and Super Mario 64, the Bigger Boo in Super Mario World 2). Whereas most other Boos fit Nintendo's typical (traditional Japanese?) depiction of ghosts as being pranksters and tricksters, King Boo is an outright sadistic sociopath who thinks only of destroying Mario, Luigi, and everything they stand for.
A few spinoff Mario games like to pair him with Petey Piranha, as if to portray Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion as two sides of the same coin. St. Clair Publications has also gone with this, as evidenced by Luigi's down special in SSS being changed from his "tornado" move in canon to the Poltergust, to match Mario using FLUDD for his down special in canon.
Attributes[]
As in the Mario Kart series, King Boo was billed as a heavyweight on SSS, despite the fact that he's a ghost and, therefore, should weigh next to nothing. However, he controlled much like a lightweight. He moved fast, jumped high, had a long reach, and his moves racked up the damage quickly, but his killing moves lacked the power to...well, kill. The fact that he hovered about two feet above the ground was also a liability more than it was an asset: while it made him immune to low attacks as well as the POW Block, it also gave him the worst traction in the game and made activating his Smashes difficult...many a contestant who played as him often choked away their victory because the game unintentionally registered their Smash as a tilt or a running attack.

None.
Moveset[]
Entrance: Character entrances didn't exist while King Boo was active.
Move Name | Description |
---|---|
Neutral Special:
Iceball |
King Boo spat out an iceball straight out in front of him, which did moderate damage to opponents. It also did moderate knockback, unless they froze, which had a 1% chance of happening for every 2% the opponent was at.
Killed at 165%. |
Side Special:
Boo Beatdown |
Six Boos split off of King Boo, damaging and possibly paralyzing opponents. King Boo shrank while this happened.
Killed at 115%. |
Up Special:
Warp |
A simple teleport. You used to steer him.
Could not kill. |
Down Special:
Phase Out |
King Boo made himself disappear for five seconds, during which he was immune to all attacks and could go through walls. Would become less effective if spammed; you had to wait 15 seconds to be able to use the move at full strength again.
Could not kill. |
Final Smash: | Final Smashes didn't exist while King Boo was active. |
