KillGames 2 is an upcoming 3D arena fighting game developed and published by Lazy Studios. The game is a sequel to the original KillGames, focusing on a massive war between four factions. The game will release at an unknown date for the Nintendo Switch, XBOX One, Playstation 4 and PC.

Plot

Months have passed after the collapse of the 25th KillGames and the death of its CEO, Adam. Unable to find a way to satiate their bloodlust, almost the entirety of Neo York City fell into an era of chaos. Countless gangs take over parts of the city, buildings were being destroyed and countless people were being slaughtered. Hoping to find a way to control the chaos, the Anti-KillGames Association (A.K.A.), using data collected from the KillGames, created Project Euthany, a bio-weapon that could potentially be used to bring the world back to peace.

However, they were sorely mistaken.

This careless decision would later come back to them, as Project Euthany would somehow gain a mind of its own, a mind full of vengeance. Vengeance for the life that she has seemingly lost. Killing almost everyone in the AKA, she took over the organization. Hoping to create a world in which no one is able to even cause pain to each other, she declared a war, hoping to take over the world and create her vision of a deathless society.

From this declaration, three factions emerged, the Resistance who wish to prevent this takeover, the Marauders who want to keep the world in this chaotic state, and the Rogues with their own agenda.

Gameplay

KillGames 2 expands on the gameplay of the original KillGames. Though the overall gameplay is similar to the original, several changes have been made to make the game more strategy-focused, with many new additions to add risk-and-reward to combat.

Gameplay Mechanics

KillGames 2 differs from other fighting games in that, instead of having a round system, each player instead has two health bars, a Normal Health Bar and a True Health Bar. When you take damage from attacks, you lose Normal Health. Once all of your Normal Health has been reduced to zero, you will be KOed. However, losing all your Normal Health doesn't mean you're Dead. That is determined by your True Health. Every time your Normal Health runs out, you will lose True Health. If you don't lose all of your True Health, you respawn will all of your Normal Health restored. If all of your True Health runs out, you die.

The amount of True Health you lose is determined by the current Rating. People are watching your fight and want to see some pretty gruesome stuff. Everytime you deal or take damage, your rating will go up. More powerful and risky attacks will further increase the ratings you get. Once a player dies, the amount of rating determines how much True Health you lose. Then, the rating drops.

Alongside your Health, each character also has a Rage Meter. Your Rage Meter will fill up as you deal and take damage, going up to different levels, with the maximum being 9 Levels. Your Rage can be spent to perform powerful Rage Attacks, or be used in Death Struggles. Your Rage will carry over when you are KOed.

Basics

Players have access to three different basic attacks:

  • Light Attacks: Light Attacks are the fastest of your moves, but are the weakest overall. Often they will be the ones that you will use for combos.
  • Heavy Attacks: Heavy Attacks are slow, but compensate for their slowness with great damage, and special abilities like launching, anti-airs, or the ability to go through certain attacks.
  • Special Attacks: Special Attacks are moves will unique properties. Often these will include things like projectiles, or attacks that work in tandem with a character's gimmick.

By holding a direction, either forward, back, or side, you will perform a different attack.

The player can also Jump to gain extra height or jump toward an airborne enemy, Grab enemies through shields to Pummel them for extra damage, or Throw them into a hazard, and Block to nullify oncoming damage. If you block for too long or take too much damage, it will cause a Shield Break, making it unavailable for a time.

Finishers & Hazards

When a character has low enough health, their health bar will begin glowing red and their character will look visibly exhausted. During this, the player can initiate a Finisher. To initiate one, the player either needs to hit the enemy with a specific attack, or launch the enemy into a hazard. During this, the victim will be brutally murdered in a gory fashion, often involving dismemberment, decapitation, evisceration, ripping out vital organs, skin or entire skeletons, etc. Trust me, they can get pretty intense. Certain finishers will leave the enemy in a Helpless state. Normally these finishers don't give out much of a bonus, but by combining these with other finishers you can multiply the rating to increased heights.

Gameplay Changes

Edge System

One of the largest additions to KillGames 2 is the Edge System, which determines how certain moves interact with eachother when done at the same time. There are three types of attacks:

  • Upper Attacks: Good against Side Attacks but weak against Low Attacks.
  • Side Attacks: Good against Low Attacks but weak against Upper Attacks.
  • Low Attacks: Good against Upper Attacks but weak against Side Attacks.

In weaker attacks, these normally only affect damage. So if you hit an enemy with an upper attack, while they are doing a side attack, your attack will do increased damage. However, in more powerful attacks, doing the same will cause the enemy to stagger. If both are the same time, both attacks will bounce off each other. This system was added to emphasize risky play.

Death Struggles

Once an enemy is KOed, they gain the ability to perform a Death Struggle when they respawn. Upon landing the move, each player can wager their Rage Meter in order to beat out the enemy. The player who spends more Rage will win out, causing damage, gaining a stat boost, and performing a finisher if the enemy's health is low. However, if you use less Rage and win, the stat boost in will increase and last longer. This, once again, rewards risky play, as you have to choose whether to gain a certain win, or gain a stat boost that can potentially win you a game.

Friendships

When an enemy is at low health, the player, instead of finishing them, can perform a Friendship once per match, by pressing all three of attack buttons at once. This unique ability has the player do some kind of nice and friendly action, restoring half of the enemy's health and increasing the rating. Performing this is quite risky, but can earn you a victory if you are willing to get by a potential loss.

Other Changes

  • Double Jumping has been added, allowing you to redirect your aerial movement or get up to higher areas.
  • Each character is now given a unique gimmick or status effect to grant each of them unique abilities.
  • Different throws have been removed. Players can now only throw enemies forward.
  • Dodging has been replaced with Dashing.

Techniques

  • Target: Tapping the right stick allows players to target different enemies, making it easier to focus your attacks on a certain player.
  • Dash: Double tap a direction to quickly dash in that direction. This can be used to quickly dodge attacks or get close to an enemy. Players can dash in the air, though can only do so once.
  • Parry: Activating or ending a block at the time an enemy attacks allows you to perform a Parry. This technique is useful for when the enemy is just barraging you with attacks, as the Parry will stun the enemy for a short time. However, performing this is risky, as it will leave you vulnerable.
  • Grab: Press the light and heavy attack buttons at the same time to perform a Grab. This attack goes through blocks, and allows you to either a Pumel or a Throw.
  • Pummel: Press the Light Attack button while grabbing enemies to perform a Pummel, dealing some damage.
  • Throw: Press the Heavy Attack button while grabbing enemies to perform a Throw, to throw an enemy in a certain direction, potentially into an item or a deadly hazard.

Modes

Story

Story Mode is a single-player mode where you follow the adventures of various characters during the Neo York City Faction War.

Unlike the original KillGames' story mode, KillGames 2's story features a branching story mode, with each chapter following a different character. As players play through the story, more chapters are unlocked, and the player can complete them in any order. The mode features multiple cutscenes, alongside various missions.

Arcade

Arcade Mode is a single-player mode where players fight in a series of 8 matches, each with randomly selected characters that are each harder than the last. At the end of Arcade Mode, the player fights against Euthany as a final boss. Upon winning, the player gets a unique ending, alongside a costume.

The mode features four difficulties, Easy, Medium, Hard and Survival, with Easy being the easiest and Hard being the hardest. Survival is different, in that rather than 10 matches, it's an endless stream of matches where the goal is to survive as long as possible. Your health will carry over from fight to fight, but depending on how high your ratings get, you can get some of your health restored.

Versus

Versus Mode allows the player to play in a match offline, against up to three other players or CPUs (which you can choose the difficulty of). Players are also free to choose the stage and the rules, like the time of the match, hazards, items, etc.

The Resistance is a group that focuses on trying to preserve freedom. They wanna stop the A.K.A. from taking over, and stopping the violence being commited around Neo York City.

Redge

The champion of the KillGames, Redge once again serves as KillGames 2's protagonist, alongside Storm. Born from a human and demon parent, after winning the KillGames, adopting Yuki and killing his mother, Soul, not much really changed. Desperate for something to do, when Storm breaks into the apartment and learns of the AKA's plans, he decides to do something good for the world for once.

Redge wields the Cauterizer, a chainsaw-sword hybrid fueled by the fires of Hell.

Playstyle
Redge is a well-rounded character with an aggressive playstyle. His moveset emphasizes pressure, and controlling the fight with his quick attacks.
Unique Trait
Feral Flame: When Redge's health reaches Finisher state, Redge will begin glowing orange, and he gains a temporary boost in damage and power.

StormKillGames2(transparent)

Storm

Storm returns as one of KillGames 2's protagonist, alongside Redge. A former member of the AKA she competed in the KillGames in order to use the prize to stop it. One of the survivors of Euthany's attack, she decided to betray the AKA, as she believed that preventing death isn't justified by basically enslaving the world. She wants to stop the AKA, but her being hunted down and labelled a criminal by the organization is going to make that a difficult task.

Storm wields twin Plasma Cutters attached to her wrists. She can also project shields and launch blades of energy.

Playstyle
Storm is the game's beginner friendly jack-of-all-trades. Her attacks, while not dealing much damage on their own, come out fast and possess pretty good range. Unlike Redge, her attack style is a bit more cautious.
Unique Trait
Stun: Storm's special attacks inflict the Stun status effect, giving the enemy a cyan glow. When an enemy is stunned, the next attack performed on them will deal increased damage, and increase the attack's hitstun, allowing for a combo opportunity.

Break

Wielding a spiked baseball bat, Break spends his life trying to take down every last mutant in existence. He does this to avenge his family, who were killed by a group of rabid mutants years ago. Even after Maligna's death and the banning of mutagens, even he knew that mutants would not be gone anytime soon. When he learned of a secret mutagen ring being held by Diablo, he seeks to finally take him down.

Break wields a Spiked Bat, a fairy simple weapon consisting of a bat with some sharp objects embedded in it.

Playstyle
Break is a defensive bait-and-punish styled character. Possessing okay speed, his bat provides him with good damage, a wide arc, and consistent knockback. He's generally suited towards getting in and capitalizing on enemy mistakes.
Unique Trait
Wind-Up: Break is the only character who can move while charging an attack. Though his movement is slowed, he can perform a single jump, or a dash, in order to maneuver his way into the perfect hit.

Rider of Justice RX Break swings his bat at the enemy, briefly staggering them before walking away. As the enemy regains their footing, they watch as Break on a black chopper drive straight toward them. From there, Break proceeds to repeatedly drive by them and hit them with his bat, breaking their bones and eventually knocking their jaw out. Break then revs up, using his bat to pierce through the gas tank and spew gasoline. Break then gets off the chopper, as it drives straight towards the foe. Before it can hit the enemy however, Break pulls out and activates a lighter, before dropping it on the ground. The lighter ignites the gasoline spewing out of the chopper, and travels across a trail of it before reaching the tank and creating a powerful explosion, blowing up the chopper and the player. Yuki

A young girl created as a next step in human evolution, Yuki was born with powerful ice powers. Originally adopted by Adam to participate in the KillGames, she has since been living with Redge and Lane after they found her in the tournament. Learning of the AKA's plan to take over the world, she wishes to protect her friends and help them thwart the AKA's plans.

Yuki wields the ability to manipulate Ice, using it to form various weapons or freeze enemies. Her main weapons are four Icicles which she floats across the air to stab foes.

Playstyle
Yuki is a well-rounded offensive fighter, relying primarily on pressure and set-ups. She uses her special attacks and freezing powers to open up her enemies to her most powerful attacks. Though she has good movement speed, her most powerful moves are very slow, and will require Yuki to plan ahead in order to create damaging combos.
Unique Trait
Freeze: Yuki's special attacks inflict the Freeze status effect, slowing down the enemy's movement, lowering their jump height, reducing them to only one jump, and taking away their ability to dash. This can be used to open up a foe to a powerful attack. Hitting a foe with any move immediately removes the Freeze effect.

A semi-famous rockstar around Neo York City, Lane is also a powerful occultist. She has a obsession with demons, almost always carrying a grimoire wherever she goes and making contracts with every Avatar of Hell to gain incredible power. She is unsatisfied with how people see demons as, wishing to change their perspective and show how demons can be good people, by using their powers to take down the AKA.

Playstyle
Lane is a character all about set ups and powerful magic attacks. Playing as her requires some planning, and knowing about enemy position, but when played correctly she can control the entire battlefield with her spells.
Unique Trait
Acolyte Orbs: Lane can place up to 3 Acolyte Orbs on the battlefield. When Lane during an attack or her spells come into contact with an orb, the orb will be absorbed and enhance the attack's power. Stringing together multiple orbs can be used to create immensely powerful attacks.

Misery

A mysterious ninja assassin, Misery traveled around the world, searching for people the kill. Her sword is possessed by Ashura, a powerful demon that was sealed inside the sword long ago. Originally cursed to feed Ashura blood, the two seemed to have made up after the events of the original KillGames, and fight alongside each other. Misery hopes to pay for her past actions, and fight for the side of good.

Playstyle
One of the fastest characters in the game, Misery is all about rushdown, getting up close to the enemy and attack with relatively weak, but extremely fast attacks. She is held back by her low health, which can easily be depleted if she isn't careful.
Unique Trait
Ninja Mobility: Misery has one of the fastest dashes in the game, and the blinding speed of it leaves her immune to damage for a short time. This can allow her to dodge powerful hits, get closer to the enemy, or generally disorient them. Misery can also cling to walls.

A former slave, Castle lived every day of her life in constant torture. However, this would end up only making her stronger. With help from a tiny race of people known as the Legion, she managed to escape, curbstomping everything in their path. After escaping, she thanked them by building a miniature tower (which she uses as a weapon), and travels the world to take down the oppressive group that enslaved her to begin with.

Castle wields the Blade of Babel, a massive sword that is also used as a home for her miniature army.

Playstyle
Castle is all about dealing big and powerful hits. She and her moves are rather slow, but can deal large amounts of damage, and cover a large size due to her weapon's size. Proper use of the Legion can allow you to open up your foes to your bigger hits.

Legion Summon X Castle points forwards, and can select one of three Legions to attack the enemy. Each Legion has a unique way of attacking. Hold the button to increase the number of Legions to summon.
  • Spearmen: Pressing side summons a band of spearmen to run across the ground and deal damage to the enemy. Generally not suited towards damage, but they can harass the enemy and open them up for attacks. They are a lingering attack, and can be brought back by pressing the special attack button.
  • Archers: Pressing forward summons archers that appear on the blade, firing off a storm of arrows into the air. The arrows will then rain down near the enemy. They have a delay after firing, and can be used to open up foes or continue a combo. If you are hit while or a short time after they fire, some of the archers may get killed.

Euthany

Design as the ultimate weapon, Euthany serves as KillGames 2's new antagonist. Created out of dead bodies and containing data from past KillGames contestants, she was created as a way to control the chaos in Neo York City. However, the data given to her caused her to gain memories of her past, causing her to go berzerk and take control of the AKA. She hopes to create a world where no one is allowed to kill each other, and is willing to create that world in any way she can.

Euthany wields Apocalyptica, four massive blades that she can freely control due to her psychic powers.

Playstyle
Euthany is a zoning character with a focus on resource management and set-ups. Her gimmick grants her the ability to mix-up enemies, tripping them up with many sudden special attacks. Euthany needs to set these up however, and performing them cause her to deal less damage for a time.
Unique Trait
Sword Setting: With the use of her Neutral Special, Euthany can ready up to three of her swords. The swords will float above her, and by using her Side Special, she can command them to do one of various attacks. The more swords she uses, the more effective the specials become. However, once the attack is over, any used up swords will be gone for a time, reducing the damage of Euthany's other attacks until they come back.

Newton

A high-ranking member of the AKA, Newton is a renowned robotics scientist and Storm's (former) partner. The one responsible for starting Project Euthany, Newton wanted to find any sort of way he can bring back his friend, Ein, who died in the past as a competitor of the KillGames. Now with his creation turning against him and being forced to against his partner in a faction war, he has to find some kind of way to appease the both of them without any death being involved.

Newton wields ARMA, a robot made in Ein's image. She's armed with dual energy spears.

Playstyle
Newton is a puppet character, fighting alongside his robot ARMA. Utilizing the two well, players can control large amounts of space, or create long and damaging combos. However, by himself, Newton isn't very strong, and can be taken out fairly quickly.
Unique Trait
ARMA: ARMA will follow and attack in tandem with Newton. She's also the one responsible for performing heavy attacks and certain specials, so if they are seperated, Newton can perform attacks on his own. Zmei

The Zmeis were a combat robot designed by the AKA in order of prevent creatures like demons and mutants from threatening humanity. After the first Zmei's death during the 25th KillGames, its data was collected and the mission was deemed a success. However, when Euthany took over, rather than using them to protect, she decided that they would be the perfect soldiers in her worldwide takeover.

Zmei wields the Buster Breakers, his powerful claws which he can form together into a high-speed drill.

Playstyle
A dangerous heavyweight character, Zmei's powerful attacks and variety of projectiles can make him deadly for those who don't know how to deal with him. However, if players wish to effectively use him, they must learn how to manage his overheat meter, and make decisions to sacrifice your safety for big damage.
Unique Trait
Thrusters & Heat: By holding the jump button, Zmei can use his thrusters, granting him great air mobility at the cost of being unable to attack while using them. When Zmei uses his thrusters or an attack, his Heat meter goes up, and will go down if Zmei doesn't attack. Once it fills, will go into Overheat Mode. While in Overheat mode, Zmei will begin letting off steam, he loses his ability to use his thrusters, and his movement speed is increased slightly. While in Overheat, using a Heavy Attack or a Special Attack increases its damage, but if Zmei uses one, he will be left unable to use his heavies or specials until the Overheat Meter reaches zero. The higher Zmei's heat is when you use the attack, the more damage it will deal.

A vicious cyborg, Alcatraz ever since their creation was considered a failed experiment. Though they possessed incredible strength, it was too much to handle and the AKA was force to restrain it less it kill everyone in the facility. When Euthany took over, she decided to let Alcatraz join her ranks. Alcatraz, while working for her, secretly hates her for being superior in every way to them, and eventually wish to take over the AKA for themselves.

Alcatraz wields the Spiral Slicers, large propellers which they can spin at high speed to not only cut enemies, but gain aerial height.

Playstyle
Alcatraz is a tricky fighter who's all about mix-ups. Their flight ability allows them to grants them free aerial mobility, which grants Alcatraz a unique way of approaching a foe or avoiding their attacks. However, they lack defense.
Unique Trait
Flight: Hold the jump button and Alcatraz will use the propeller on their back to fly. Only lasts for a limited time, but the time will reset upon hitting the ground. You can cancel the flight at any time by letting go of the jump button.

A cyborg former war general, Adam was once the owner of one of the most popular sports in Neo York City, the KillGames. He created the KillGames in order to find people that can kill as much as he did in his past. After his death and the KillGames' collapse, his body was retrieved by the AKA. With his body almost entirely mechanized and his memory being wiped, he now works as an agent for the organization with one job, to seek out and eliminate Storm.

Adam wields Mjolnir Ultima, a device that grants his attacks electrical properties, and grants him the ability to summon lightning.

Playstyle
Adam a powerful, pressure-focused character. With elements of both rushdown and grapple, once he gets a combo going, it's going to be hard for him to stop. His largest downsides are his lack of long-ranged abilities, and his slow speed.
Unique Trait
Charge: When Adam deals damage to enemies, a meter near his health will fill up. He can then spend it to perform powerful follow-up attacks to his heavies and specials, by inputting the same command after the first. Each charged variant of an attack takes half of the meter to use.

The leader of a notorious gang known as the Wastelanders, Shine, despite her cute appearance, is secretly a vicious and cunning leader and murderer. She prefers doing her own thing, not aligning herself with either the Resistance or the AKA, but will fight if it means gaining some cool parts.

Izuna

A rogue member of the Wastelanders, Izuna was one of the gang's most skilled hunters. She hates the idea of technology taking over, believing that the modernization will remove any challenge in killing. Because of this objection, her leader, Shine, tortured her and forcefully transformed her into a cyborg. Escaping, she seeked to kill her former leader, destroy the AKA, snd bring the world back to a more primitive, and challenging state.

Izuna wields Amaterasu, her bow, alongside a bunch of trick arrows with special effects.

Playstyle
Izuna is a very range-focused character with a myriad of tricky projectiles to keep her foes at a long distance. She struggles as close-ranged attack, so it's best that players avoid their enemies as much as possible.
Unique Trait
Bow Expertise: With the use of her Side Special, Izuna can apply one of three effects to her arrows, granting her next heavy or special attack an added effect depending on the arrow. She can choose between three types: Explosion, which adds extra damage, Frost, which allows Izuna to freeze enemies, and Electric, which have unique curving abilities. Khanmyr

The leader of a dangerous cult, Khanmyr devoutly worships an ancient, long-forgotten god of death named Anubis. Wishing to serve this god in any way, he shaped his appearence to resemble him, and is constantly looking for people to sacrifice to him. Coming across Neo York City and its faction war, Khanmyr seeks to find as many as he can, and quench his god's thirst of pain and suffering.

Khanmyr wields Osiris and Horus, two hook blades with serrated edges. He can control the bandages wrapped around his body to wrap foes and extend his reach.

Playstyle
Khanmyr serves as the game's resident zoner. The long range of his attacks allows him to apply pressure from any distance. However, his low health, followed by his lack of knockback moves, make him vulnerable at close-range.

Playstyle
Bombshell is an aggressive fighter who relies on creating traps with her many-different bombs, and mixing them together to create powerful chain reactions. She has low health, but good speed.
Unique Trait
Chain Reaction: When one of Bombshell's attacks hits a bomb, it will cause it to immediately blow up and deal extra damage. Stringing multiple attacks together allows you to further increase the damage of attacks, mixing together multiple bombs in order to further increase your damage.

A sly and scummy cowboy, Colt has one goal in life and that is to obtain as much money as possible. Not much is known about his past, but he currently works as a bounty hunter, killing people for money. Rather than fighting with any sort of honor and dignity, he'd rather take the easy way out and kill people with tons of guns. He doesn't align himself with anyone unless they pay him well.

Colt wields a variety of Guns, which he seems to pull out of nowhere. His primary weapons are dual revolvers, a sawed-off shotgun, a double-barreled shotgun, a bolt-action semi-auto rifle, and a Tommy gun.

Playstyle
Colt is a versatile fighter who can switch to various weapons to take out enemies from any distance. He has little melee options, alongside low defense, but his variety of weaponry can help keep your enemies at bay.
Unique Trait
Quickdraw: Colt can use his special attacks to equip various weapons. These limit Colt to only being able to do a few actions, but they're useful for certain situations. With the exception of the Dynamite, you can quickly unequip weapons by Shielding.

Diablo

Once a famous pro wrestler, Diablo fell into using mutagens when the sport fell out of style, competing in the KillGmaes. With his biggest supplier, Maligna, dead, Diablo seeked to try and find a way to create his own mutagens. Now owning a massive underground mutagen ring, he seeks to mutate as many people as possible, and unleash them all upon the world to see how long it will last until everyone is dead.

Diablo wields Mutagens injected into his body, greatly increasing his muscle mass and power.

Playstyle
Diablo serves as the game's resident grappler. His large size and massive health pool allows him to tank through damage and deal it as well. However, he has slow speed, (even his dash doesn't grant him much distance), and he lack a long-ranged option. However, if you can get in close, he's a force to be reckoned with.

A mysterious "dimension-travelling trophy hunter", as he calls himself, Mr. Slag is an unusually cheerful and gentlemanly person despite his deadly nature. He enjoys travelling across various universes, and assassinating important figures for sport. He doesn't seem to care about the war going on, and is just wandering around trying to find people to kill and acting like an utter bafoon.

Mr. Slag wields the Rainmaker, a umbrella lined with blades, which he wields similar to a rapier.

Saevara

The physical embodiment of nature's cruelty, Saevara is an ancient being who has been around since the planet's birth. Put into a weakened state due to the introduction of advanced weaponry, she has hated humanity ever since its civilization. She believes that humans have become "too soft" even in a time of constant war and bloodshed. She hopes to bring the world back to an even more savage state, and take her rightful place and the true ruler of the planet.

Saevara wields Gaia's Jaws, the ability to control plant life. Her right hand is a flytrap with tongues to pull in enemies, and her left hand is equipped with sharp claws that can summon spiked roots.

Playstyle
By herself, Saevara is rather slow and possesses only mediocre damage. Her main playstyle is covering the stage in Grass, which she can use to enhance her abilities and heal damage. With good planning, Saevara can dominate the battlefield with powerful attacks and moves with a wide-area of effect.
Unique Trait
Botanist: Wherever Saevara walks or attacks, she creates grass on the ground. As long as she is in the grass, her health will slowly regenerate and she gains a small speed boost. She can also interact with the grass using her specials. The grass will slowly wilt as time goes on if Saevara goes too far from it, and it can be destroyed immediately if an enemy attacks within it.

Weevil

After the banning of mutagens throughout Neo York City, the government did the most responsible thing and dumped them into the ocean. This caused the mutagens to leak into new parts of the world, eventually getting in the hands of a harlequin beetle named Weevil. The mutagens granted him human-like intelligence, the ability to control bugs, and a thirst for blood. Fighting alongside a mysterious woman named Lili, who is highly infected with mutagens and bug DNA to transform her into a writhing insectoid mess, he plans using her and his army of insects to turn the world into his resplendent buffet.

Weevil wields the Pokey Stick, a small branch which he uses more a way to command Lili and his army of insects.

Playstyle
Weevil is a primarily rushdown-focused fighter, who's main focus is overwhelming his foe with his bug army. These bugs can not only be used for extra damage, but can also be used to enhance Weevil's attacks. Lili possesses good speed and damage, though her health is rather low compared to other characters.

Swarm King: Weevil has the unique ability to summon various mutant insects to attack his foes. Each insect has various effects, and Weevil can control them through his special attacks.
  • Mantis: Mantises are close-ranged fighters. They possess the most health, they slash at enemies with their pincers, and can be used to limit the enemy's space. They are also the slowest of the insects.
  • Mosquito: Mosquitos are aerial fighters. The fastest of the enemies, they are great anti-air attackers, and can be used to limit fighters to the ground. They possess the low health.

Reapazoid

Murder is one of the fastest way to get yourself a one-way ticket to the bowels of Hell. However, not even constant torture was able to cause Reapazoid to go insane. During his stay, he learned of a powerful ability, the ability to steal souls to enhance his own power. He slaughtered thousands of Hell's forces, absorbing them into his own body. Eventually gaining the power to escape back into the human realm, he wishes to satiate his bloodlust, and continue his killing spree from beyond the grave.

Reapazoid wields the Harbinger, a scythe which has been used to kill thousands of people.

Playstyle
Reapazoid can be incredibly hard to play as due to, initially, being fairly weak. His attacks are slow and his movement speed isn't much better. But with his Fear mechanic, skilled players who are able to build it up will realize Reapazoid is an incredibly devastating rushdown character.
Unique Trait
Fear: When Reapazoid deals damage, lands grabs and uses his specials, his fear meter will slowly increase. As fear builds up, Reapazoid becomes faster, and his attacks will deal even more hits. Fear builds up in levels: starting at Calm, becoming Frightened upon reaching 33%, then becoming Paranoid upon reaching 66%, before finally reaching Insane upon filling up the entire meter. If Reapazoid dies, the meter goes down to a previous level.

Souligna

Once the Avatar of Lust, Soul's death not only removed her from her powerful status, but left her in the darkest pit of Hell to rot for all eternity. However, alongside Maligna, an insane mutagen scientist, the two fused together in order to gain enough power to escape from their infernal hellhole. Making it back to the human world, they seek only one thing, vengeance against the ones who killed them: Redge and Storm.

Souligna wields Bloodletter, a whip constructed out of the blood of thousands of men.

Playstyle
Souligna is a versatile but very technical character. Her trait allows her to completely switch her movesets, swapping between a defensive zoner in Demon mode, and a heavy-hitting rushdown in Mutant mode. However, Souligna is vulnerable once the opponent can get a combo off of her, and in Mutant mode, has extremely low defense.
Unique Trait
Demon Mode & Mutant Mode: Souligna can switch between two different playstyles by pressing her Side Special. Demon Mode has reduced movement but a moveset focused on defense and projectiles. Mutant Mode is an aggressive but risky moveset to use due to reduced defense, but makes up for it with blinding speed and truckloads of damage.

Geiger&crimson(transparent)

Geiger & Crimson

A duo of news reporters, Geiger and Crimson are the ones responsible reporting the events going on in Neo York City. Though from what they see, they only decide to do this as an excuse to watch people kill each other. Geiger, the small white puffball, is shown to be very excitable and somewhat childish, and is seemingly oblivious of the massive amounts of pain he is seeing. Crimson, the fallen angel, is the more chill and casual of the two, and though she enjoys watching people kill eachother, she acts as if she's seen these thousands of times before.

Stages

KillGames 2 features 18 stages. Unlike in the original, some stages are associated with multiple characters rather than just one.

10th Circle of Hell

This massive arena in the middle of Hell is often where the most powerful demons are said to duke it out. The stage is surrounded by lava, and columns of souls tied to pillars, eternally burning and screaming in agony. The thrones of the six Avatars of Hell can be seen in the background of the stage, where each of them will be sitting and watching the fight (cheering if someone dies). However, if Lane is being played, Lucifer will be gone (since he assists her in fights).

AKA Headquarters 

A massive futuristic building, this place acts as the main headquarters for the Anti-KillGames Association. The stage is similar to the Underground Laboratory stage from the last game, taking place in a large futuristic room with tons of death traps like laser fences and sawblades.

Abandoned Prison

A mysterious medieval-style castle located on the outskirts of Neo York City, theories go that the place is either haunted, or just constructed to attract tourists. The arena is fairly large, consisting of two circular floors with a staircase in the middle. Various torture instruments are found all across the stage, which can be used to finish off your enemies.

Anubis Temple

A temple constructed deep in the Wastelands, the area is constructed as a gathering area for Khanmyr's cult, and where sacrifices to Anubis are held. The stage itself is fairy small, consisting of a large hallway leading to the sacrifice area. A large statue of Anubis with a large knive-like device is located, which can be used to finish off foes. The area also features two hallways to the side. On the other side of the stage is a large cliff, leading to a dark abyss which players can throw others into.

Burning Dojo

A traditional Japanese-styled dojo, as a result of the riots the building is burning as we speak! And we're not getting off because: 1. It looks cool. And: 2. The fire can be very useful for killing people. The stage itself takes place outside on top of the roof, and players can knock their opponents off the roof into the bamboo spikes below.

Casinoland

The biggest entertainment destination in Neo York City, Casinoland is basically what you would get if you decided to mix Las Vegas and a Six Flags park. The stage takes place in the area's massive courtyard, surrounded by neon lights. A roller coaster can be seen from above, surrounding the courtyard. Watch out for the Slot of Misfortune, which will randomly open up to judge the fate of anyone through into it!

Central Station

Neo York City's largest train station, it acts as the only transportation to any of the 2-3 other civilized places in Neo America. However, because of the riots, the place has been converted into a death arena. All trips are cancelled, except for those getting a one-way ticket to Hell when they get obliterated by an oncoming train.

Dimensional Rift

Welcome to the rifts of dimensions, home to the randomly appearing portals of various universes and timelines! Players fight atop a large meteor that is constantly flying through a wormhole. At times, pieces of the meteor will break apart from each other, creating gaps players will need to jump over. Random portals will appear throughout the fight, and players can knock their enemies into them to send them into a different finisher.

Forgotten Arena

Once a massive stadium where thousands of fans would watch people kill eachother, after the KillGames ended the entire thing is left abandoned. The arena itself is still intact, acting as a basic arena without any obstacles. The KillDrones flying around are somehow still active, and will gladly eviscerate anyone who comes near it.

Mutant Inc.

A secret underground factory owned by Diablo where mutagens are developed and tested, Mutant Incorporated is a chaotic stage. Rather simple in its design, the stage is littered with pits filled with dangerous mutagens. The stage is also filled with conveyor belts, moving players who step on it, potentially into a pit of mutagen. Barrels of mutagen can also appear in the stage, which can be used as throwable weapons.

Neo York City Square

Welcome to the heart of Neo York City! Or at least what remains of it. After the constant slaughtering and battles, Neo York City Square has basically been reduced to a massive deathmatch arena. And that's what it is! It's square in shape, surrounded by spikes, and littered with cars for the player to stand on. Yeah that's pretty much it.

Tangled Jungle

As a result of Saevara's arrival, in her wake she left a massive infested jungle in the outskirts of Neo York City. It is a rather spacious arena, circular in shape, and littered with trees. These trees can be destroyed to provide extra fighting space, damaging and possibly crushing anyone in their way. Carnivorous plants can also be found, biting down on anyone that gets near them, so watch out!

Wasteland Slums

Disconnected from society, the Wasteland Slums is desertous, run-down town that serves as the home of the Wastelanders. Filled with trash and small homes, the stage is densely packed, which makes all the more easy to be hit by a spiked fence or slices to pieces by a randomly appearing sawblade. The center is fairly open, though a crusher will make sure that deaths will be piling up easy when players arer there.

Wreckage Ocean

An abandoned port on the outskirts of Neo York City, the Wreckage Ocean features tons of shipwrecked boats. The stage is fairly open and has a lot of uneven ground, with players fight on top of the ships and other rubble in the water. Don't fall into the water, otherwise the mutant sharks will quickly chow down on you.

Items

Throughout a match, sometimes an item will dropped onto the stage via a drone. These items can be used to support yourself by providing buffs, or hinder enemies through other means of attack and debuffs. Utilizing these items can grant you a boost in rating.

Fire Bomb An orange explosive ball, when thrown it releases a firey explosion that engulfs anyone nearby. If the enemy is at low health, the explosion will light the enemy on fire, leaving them in a helpless state.
HP Juice A lemon-lime soda well known for its sugary taste, the actual tons of sugar put into the drink will restore up to 25% of your health if your drink it uninterrupted.
Ice Bomb A blue explosive ball, when thrown it releases an icy explosion that freezes anyone nearby. You can finish off your enemy if you freeze them at low health.
Power Shield An energy barrier, when picked up it creates a shield around you, reducing oncoming damage and allowing you to power through weaker attacks.
Rage Soda An orange soda, it's so good that people are known to become addicted to it (possibly because of the cocaine and crystal meth that are placed into the drink as well). Drinking it will grant you up to three bars of Rage if your drink it uninterrupted.
Shock Trap A proximity mine that sticks to surfaces, when an enemy comes near it activates, damaging them and putting them in a Stun state. If the enemy is at low health, the blast will electrocute the enemy, leaving them in a helpless state.

Bamboo Spikes Yeah those bamboo spikes are still there somehow despite the fire.They litter the bottom of the dojo, and anyone who is thrown out will get violently impaled!

Burning Drums An oil drum that is currently on fire. When an enemy is at low health, place them or launch them into them to scorch them alive! Watch as they struggle to escape as they slowly burn to death!

Carnivorous Plants Large mutated plants, they start off as large bulbs. If a player gets near one while they have low health, the plant will awaken, biting down on the player, flailing them around, before eating them.

Crushers These massive crushers will occasionally raise up before coming back down to crush anyone in their path, leaving them behind as a red stain on the ground.

Death Sharks These great white sharks have been mutated with the most powerful mutagens there is, and now they're hungry for any bit of human flesh they can get. Get an enemy into the water and they will take care of the rest!

Dragon Statues Pretty normal-looking dragon statues at first, throw your enemies into their jaws and they'll will activate, chomping down on them and crushing them!

Dumpsters You gotta throw that human trash away at some point, and these dumpsters are the perfect place to do it! Throw or place an enemy into it, and the blades on the lid will easily chop the enemy in half.

Fans A massive fan that shreds anything placed into it! Throw an enemy into them and watch as they get eviscerated by the fan's giant blades.

Grinders A grinder that will crush anything placed into it. Throw the enemy into it and watch as their bones slowly break as they are crushed into a red paste!

Guillotines These massive blades will occasionally fall from the cieling to chop anyone in their way. Watch for bloodstains on the floor, as they will indicate where a guillotine (though that will be pretty hard once people start dying).

KillDrones Robots designed for the KillGames, they're somehow still alive even after all this time, continuing that job as killers of those who enter out-of-bounds areas. When anybody is launched into these areas (marked with red lines), a KillDrone will fly into their path and eviscerate them with their jet engines until they are a fine red mist!

Laser Fences A fence constructed out of thin beams of light, these melt through anything that come into contact with them. When an enemy is at low health, place them or launch them into these fences to cut them to pieces.

Lava Molten magma, oceans filled with the stuff are located all across Hell. Falling into the stuff will cause the unfortunate victim to burn up and eventually be reduced to a skeleton, falling into the abyss below.

Mutagen Barrels Explosive barrels filled with mutagen, if damaged they blow up and cause powerful damage. If you get caught in the explosion at low health, it will cause you to dissolve into a skeleton.

Sacrifice Machine A massive machine constructed in the likeness of Anubis, it's equipped with a large, drill-like blade. Players who are placed, or launched onto the altar will be stabbed by the machine. Then, the blade will spin, slowly pulling out their vital organs.

Sawblade A massive sawblade that cuts through anything in its way, including human flesh!  Throw an enemy into them and watch as they are violently eviscerated by these spinning blades.

Spiked Cars These abandoned cars have been converted into makeshift iron maidens! Their trunks are filled to the brim with spikes, and you can place or launch your enemies into them to give them a painful and heart-piercing (along with any other organs) death!

Spiked Fences The simplest of hazards, these are chain-link fences with spikes and other sharp things attached to them. When an enemy is at low health, place them or launch them onto these spiked fences to make sure their as good as dead!

Slot of Misfortune One of the most elaborate hazards, throw the enemy into the machine and stop the wheel to determine which way they will die. From crushing, to burning, to dismemberment, test your luck to see which one you'll get!

Torture Pillars Massive flaming pillars that litter Hell, the Torture Pillars are where unfortunate souls are placed to burn and be tortured for all of eternity. Launch a player into them, and the trapped souls will grab onto them and begin violently tearing them apart and eating their flesh.
  • 10th Circle of Hell
Tree A tall mutated tree, they can be knocked over with attacks. If they land on an enemy, you can violently crush them into tiny pieces.
  • Tangled Jungle
Trains A mode of transportation by day, in the KillGames, they are used as battering rams of pure death. Watch out for when the tracks are glowing, because a train will come in and absolutely obliterate anything standing it their path!

General

  • Some early versions of KillGames had a focus on a battle against various factions. Though these were scrapped in the first, they were brought back in the second game when the focus was put away from the KillGames themselves.
