Kab-ombs, known in Japanese as はなびボムへい Hanadbi Bomuhei ("Firework Bob-omb" in English), are a rare subspecies of Bob-omb, first appearing in New Super Mario Bros. in World 8-8. They can be defeated with a stomp, but they will chase the player character at high speeds if lit up (e.g. with a fireball or meteor), until exploding into fireworks after a few seconds.
They reappear in Mario Golf: World Tour as an item for the player to use, exploding in midair and causing the golf ball to drop straight down.
Kab-ombs can be distinguished from standard Bob-ombs with their green coloring at the bottom and their large lips (or nose in some depictions.)
