Ivysaur is one of the few returning characters in Super Smash Bros. Calamity, returning from Super Smash Bros. Brawl (albeit no longer with Pokémon Trainer, just like Squirtle in this game and Charizard in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U).

As stated above, Ivysaur is no longer with Pokémon Trainer.
Ivysaur's moveset has been changed, mostly its Pokémon Change move has been removed as, stated above twice, Pokémon Trainer is no longer with Ivysaur.
Ivysaur can now tether recover with its grab.

Side special | Bullet Seed / Take Down | On the ground, Ivysaur will do Bullet Seed, which involves in it fires seeds forward with its bulb. If ir makes contact with an opponent, they will be launched far, but it doesn't deal much damage, and also take some recoil. |
