Insane Escalation Title

Insane Escalation is an RPG/Beat-em-Up/Platforming Umbrella game made by Gear Games. It is released at May 21, 2024, and is a spiritual successor of Team All-Stars by the same company.

It was once a free-edit collaborative game, but upon an activity too minimal, the creator of the game, Samtendo09, had to start over from scratch and make it more unique for the final release.

Gameplay[]

The general gameplay switches between an X-COM-like gameplay during the Prepare and Move Phases, and combat similar to Kirby series' later games. To elaborate...

  • Prepare Phase: The characters can prepare at advance by healing itself or nearby allies, boosting their stats and installing traps, or Upgrading characters who got all three Super Slots filled. Next will be the Moving Phase, but the player can decide to declare the Battle Phase if there are nearby enemies.
  • Move Phase: The characters of both side will advance. The player (and sometimes the CPU) can decide to not make one of their characters to move at all. If any of the characters of opposing sides are nearby by a maximum radius of three squares, then the Battle Phase will begins.
  • Battle Phase: The fighters of both sides will duke it out in their own business which fight in a randomly generated stage. There are two ways to end the battle; by having all of the opponents knocked out, or in certain stages, running out of time. It will make a Cycle and proceed back to the Prepare Phase.

Each playable character have a set of directional regular attacks, and of six different which are either Strong Attacks, Support Moves and Status Moves. There are also Specials, which there are two for each Characters.

  • Strong Attacks: Stronger than regular attacks, but requires buildup by hitting enemies in order to use them again.
  • Support Moves: Give support to the player's allies, such as healing them, giving them stat boost or give them extra resistance against specific attacks.
  • Status Moves: Allows the player to strengthen up, weaken enemies, install traps or pass a status ailment.
  • Specials: The character's best arsonal, which they can only use when they have a Super Slot filled, and they can only fill a Super Slot by healing allies, hitting enemies and enduring attacks. They can also store up to three Super Slots.

The general goal is to keep at least one playable character alive without getting KO'd and defeating all enemies on the field, or simply defeating all bosses if there are any. There are various missions such as an Escort Mission, Capture the Area, and Survive the Waves, each of them having specific objectives the player(s) must follow to win the battlefield.

Although the player can only select eight characters to start with in the battlefield, there will be Reinforcement after two Cycles, which allows the player to bring four characters. During Reinforcement, Giants counts as two character slots, so it is advised to draw them when there are getting too many enemies. The Enemy Side can only do it during Boss Battles, and only fewer enemies than usual anyway.

Locked characters are randomly unlocked after a Boss Battle, or two when defeating a Super Boss. That said, they can also be unlocked earlier by Ranking Up a character of the same Class (for example, if Demoman, an Attacking Unit, is ranked up, then another Attacking Unit will be unlocked).

The Rank System allows the player to permanently power up the characters by Ranking Up. To do so, the player must gather enough Progress Orbs and spend them on a character. Not only their stats are increased, but their attacks also becomes better.

Upgrades, as this mechanic's name indicate, improves vastly the character, but only during the battle. Each character have one Upgrade, and the player can only activate it when all of the three Super Slots are filled, and select Upgrade during the Prepare Phase.

Modes[]

Story Mode[]

IE Story Mode

Story Mode is the mode where the player recruits more characeters and save the Insane Escalation universe from the rogues, composed of various villains of various franchises. The player can explore and fight in the Main Worlds and to a lesser extent, the Minor Worlds, while fighting various enemies and filling various objectives.

Each Major World have two or three regular bosses (some of them being Giant Bosses) and one Super Boss, while some Minor Worlds have just one or two bosses. Only the Final World have the Final Bosses, who are among the strongest or the trickiest bosses to face with.

The player can also visit the Origon Shop which includes temporary power-up, special items that unlock a new Minor World, and to buy more Power Orbs, and each of them requires Golds in order to purchase them.

Strafe Mode[]

IE Strafe Mode

Strafe Mode is an arcade-styled mode where you had to go through multiple levels by defeating various opponents, from weak enemies, computer-controlled characters to most regular bosses (and in harder difficulty, Super Bosses). There are four difficulty settings, the last one being unlockabled which requires Strafe Mode to be completed with ten different characters composition; EasyAverageHard and Insane.

The higher the difficulty, the more rewards the player can earn, but also the more advanced the enemies will be. Super Bosses will only appears in Hard and Insane difficulty.

The final boss is Dr. Wily, who controls one of his Wily Machines which are all difficult to fight, and each of the Machine's last phrase is always a Wily Capsule. However, another Final Boss will be confronted if you had reached 100% in Story Mode in Hard or Insane difficulty.

Characters[]

There are seven types of playable characters, instead of nine in Team All-Stars. Each of them are specialized in one battle mechanic or another, two of them being a bit more unique.

Attacking ClassTank ClassSpeedster ClassSupport Class (Insane Escalation)Special Unit ClassPokémon ClassGiant Class (Insane Escalation)

  • Offensive: Specialized in one-one-one combat and taking on multiple foes, the Offensive characters are ideal for frontal assault and give pressure into the enemies.
  • Tank: While generally slower than Attacking, Tanks have better Defense and HP while keeping high Attack to be able to gather pressure without much sweats.
  • Speedster: Speedsters are faster than average and are more specialized in ambush and picking a threatening enemies, but had to use hit-and-run tactic does to having lower Defense than even Offensive.
  • Supporter: Specialize on giving support to their allies and prefers to stay behind for their own safety. But that doesn't mean they cannot fight, and they can still provide support in a battle!
  • Special Unit: Unspecified characters that specialized in an unusual mechanic; it could be a different type of fighting style, or an unusual ability, or even calls minions of their own. They are also more varied in stats than others.
  • Pokémon: Pokémon are mechanically different from the above and below does to how they fight; while their attacks (called Moves) needs to cooldown a bit, they had different property which can turn the tide when making a combo or when used at the right time. There are actually six Pokémon, but one of them is classed as a Giant.
  • Giant: The strongest characters among the playable characters. Although their large size may restrict them access of tight paths, they can demolish almost anything in their path, and handles more HP than any other type of character.

The Characters in ??? are lucked and must be guessed right in order to be revealed and unlocked.

Default[]

These characters are available at the start of the game.

Character Description

Demoman Insane Escalation

Demoman

Tavish Finnegan Degroot, under the class name of Demoman, is a drunkard with a short fuse who specializes, and in the hand of skilled players, one of the most dangerous classes of Team Fortress 2. He actually turns out to be nice when not drunk... and you even wonder how can he be skilled despite drinking Scrumpey in the middle of the battlefield!

The Demoman can switch between aggressive combat and putting an explosive traps with Sticky Bombs, allowing him to play both offensively and defensively. He also have a wide array of melee combat, making him a threat in any category.

Donald Duck Insane Escalation

Donald Duck

For all the short temper Donald Duck as, he actually have a gold of heart, and still cares of his friends to various extents (unless you count his more mean-spirited roles in Mickey Mouse (2013)). While he is usually a duck with bad luck, when pushed too far... well, the modern Ducktales show and the Italian comic books will tell you why it is never a good idea.

While Donald is actually a jack-of-all-trades, he uses the Temper System that the bigger % it gets, the more Attack he gains. It goes up when Donald Duck get hurts, but resets once he get knocked out or when defeating enough enemies. Don't duck with Donal Duck!

Heavy Insane Escalation

Heavy Weapons Guy

Mikhail, also known as Misha, but even more known as his class name Heavy Weapons Guy, or simply Heavy for short, is an hulking powerhouse who carries various miniguns, especially his stock weapon Sasha. While dangerous and excited in the battlefield, he is actually stoic and educated outside of it. He actually do his mercenary duty to get money to help his family... and for shooting.

Heavy Weapons Guy is one of the non-Giant (ironic since he claims himself as giant) who got the highest HP, surpassed only by Hariyama. Heavy is both dangerous in both ranged and close combat does to his Miniguns, and his fists can push anyone away. He is ideal to raze off annoying baby (the baby not being literally) enemies.

Pete Insane Escalation

Pete

Pete goes by multiple names and alias; Peg-Leg Pete, Captain Pete, Drill Sergent Pete and even Genghis Khan himself at once! One thing is clear; he is always a bully and a greedy jerk, and while his menace is either just a rival to a serious threat, there is one shocking fact; he is actually the earliest reoccuring Disney character, predating even Micky Mouse himself by three years!

Pete may not be the fastest character, but behind all of his bumbling tendency, he is a composite of many of his dastardly roles, thus making him absurbly versatile; he can strike foes with his magic attacks from the Disney's Magical Quest SNES Trilogy games, for instance!

Scout Insane Escalation

Scout

Jeremy, who goes under the class name of Scout, is a bad-mouthed, quick-speaking deliquent who despite being seen as inexperienced and is arrogant, is actually a well executed glass cannon in Team Fortress 2 under the hand of the right players. In fact, even Snipers and sometimes the Pyros will have troubles dealing with skilled Scouts! There's more than one reason why there's usually two of them in 6v6 competitive battles.

As already explained, the Scout is a glass cannon; his Scattergun and his other primary weapons are actually powerful at close range, but he cannot take too much damage, making him a bit of opposite of the Heavy. He also uses other tools such as the Sandman, the Bonk! Atomic Punch and even the Flying Guillotine (this is actually a throwable meat cleaver).

Yoshi Insane Escalation

Yoshi

Best known for his adorableness and his role in Super Mario World, Yoshi is named after his species and is one of Mario's closest allies, always ready to give a helping hand when needed. He got a big appetite, and despite his cuteness, he eats his enemies and turn them on eggs!

Yoshi is one of the fastest characters, and his Flutter Jump help him to cross large gaps and avoid certain attacks. He can also swallow certain enemies and convert them into eggs so that he will throw them into another one. He can also jump on spiky and other "do-not-touch" enemies without harms, and can walk on spikes without troubles.

Medic Insane Escalation

Medic

Dr. Ludwig, also known by his class name Medic, who specializes on healing, and what he called "Doctor Assisted Homicide". He does kid with his specialties; his Mediguns of any kind and his Ubercharge can turn the tide when used right. His other weapons, when used right, are also dangerous.

While not best for taking on many enemies at once, the Medic can support and even revive his allies with his Medigun and when fully charged, the Ubercharge, be it temporary invulnerability, signifant damage boost, accelerated healing speed, or even "made-for-it" resilience against any type of attacks and ignores damage boost from these attacks! His Crusader's Crossbow and his Ubersaw are also deadly on one-on-one situations.

Flower Mii Insane Escalation

Flower Mii

The Flower Job from Miitopia is an oddball one, being specialized on... nothing much, but can fill any roles in case of emergency. They can heal allies, damage enemies with Bluster and Hurricane, and even inflict Anger on one of the Mii allies!

The Flower Mii is a defensive support, meaning that she should stay behind the battlefield to maintain her team members. She can heal her allies, revive fallen allies from a distance, heal off the negative status ailments, and even give the semi-helpful Anger ailment into an ally!

Vampire Mii Insane Escalation

Vampire Mii

The Vampire Job from Miitopia requires the Bat Charm for a Mii to become the immortal Vampire Mii. They can revive by themselves, breath poison, ice or flame, and send a tornado of bats, which can even penetrate the magic resistance of Fiends!

The Vampire Mii is fairly self-explanatory, and they can also bite the neck of an ally so that they can revive themselves after a battle. Unlike the Vampire Mii, the biten allies can only Auto-Revive once, so make sure to bite their neck again if they get knocked out.

Wario Insane Escalation

Wario

"Its-a me, Wario! Do you remember me, losers? I bet you do! But if not... It never hurts to present myself! You see, they called me a gross person, but I am Mario's biggest rival (outside of that clumsy Bowser!) since our first confrontment, and I am a dedicated treasure hunter and video game maker! Although Nintendo had kind of slack me behind recently... not so much with the other companies like Toroko and especially Gear Games!"

"I am not invincible in this game which is too bad, but I make up for that by having multiple transformation that most can help me to deal with my foes and solve some puzzles! My brute strength and my Shoulder Bash are also my biggest aces, so I must warn you; never underestimate the great Waa-rio!"

Swampert Insane Escalation

Swampert

Swampert is the fully evolved form of Mudkip, the Water-type starter introduced in Pokémon's Generation 3. While slow, it also the non-Mega Pokémon with the highest Base Stat Total (535) and having a base Attack of 110, which is a bit lot for a starter. It is well liked for good defensive type in the form of Water/Ground and good offense presence with good defenses and good enough attack.

In this game, Swampert is a more rounded despite slow speed on ground; while his close ranged attacks are powerful, his long ranged attacks aren't all that weak, making Swampert a very adaptable combattant. His swim speed is also fairly high. He can also Mega Evolve into Mega Swampert as his Upgrade, and swims even faster!

Hariyama Insane Escalation

Hariyama

Hariyama, like Swampert, is introduced in Pokémon's Generation 3, and the evolved form of Makuhita. While its low Defense and Special Defense and slowness make it seemingly bad despite its high HP, it can be a powerful fighter when used right. If you don't pick Torchic as your starter in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, then this will be your best Fighting-type along with Breloom when you know how to use them. Come on, try it.

Unlike in the Pokémon series, Hariyama is much more solid to make up being slower than Swampert, and have the highest HP of non-Giant characters, which, at the same time, makes up for lack of ranged attacks. And let's not get started with his Neon Evolution, Kyodaiyama, as an Upgrade...

Mothra Insane Escalation

Mothra

Mothra is one of the popular kaijus from the Godzilla franchise, and one of the few that flies constantly. Being born as a large sized larva, it becomes a surprisingly pretty moth and is one of the few well known females kaijus. She can flies at supersonic flight and shoot beams with her antenna. Mothra is also an immortal goddess, reviving like a phoenix by being reborn into a larva.

Like the Vampire Mii, Mothra can revive by herself, but she needs to stay a turn as a larva in order to become her famous moth form again. She is also easily the fastest Giant character, but also far from the most durable, compared to other Giants. She can also attacks with reflective "scales" and aerial attacks.

Lizzie Insane Escalation

Lizzie

Lizzie was once a woman who got experienced by chemical products from Scumlabs, which transform her into a dinosaur-like monster who goes into rampage. Like her fellow monsters, George the Gorilla and Raplh the Wolf, Lizzie the Lizard tend to destroy all things on her way and likes to devour (almost) every people on her ways.

Lizzie, like Mothra, is agile and powerful, but to make up for not being able to fly, she is a bit more durable and can even heal herself by devouring stunned enemies smaller than her. Avoid eating the elemental enemies that are still active, as they can actually harm her in various ways.

Unlockable Characters[]

The order of these characters is by order of reveal, and had to be recruited first.

Character Description

Tom Insane Escalation

Tom Cat

Tom Cat is a long-time nemesis of Jerry ever since their Golden Era. With Jerry not being on his back, Tom Cat assumes to have an enjoyable life... until he realizes that something is not right and that he had gotten in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Tom Cat is actually a well-rounded character, similarly to Donald, but he is more specialized to insets traps and contraptions that, while it had a chance to backfire if Tom is too nearby, it can greatly injures or even cripples the enemies! He can also adapt in any situation does to his well-rounded stats.

Venom Insane Escalation

Venom

Venom is one of Spider-Man's greatest foes, and one of the most iconic one at that. Unlike the other Spider-Man villains, Venom is more parallel to Spidey in term of Abilities, but stronger, more resilient and certainly far more brutal. He actually does sided with Spider-Man in some entries, especially if the far more evil Carnage is involved.

Venom's walking speed is slow, but his web-swinging speed accelerates him, which makes him a nightmare of a lightning bruiser. However, he become stunned, even when his attacks got Super Armor, by attacks with Fire or Sound attributes.

Leah Insane Escalation

Leah Needlenam

It is super easy to know that Leah Needlenam is the biggest traitor of a messed-up universe called Fantendoverse. Not above to kill everyone except those who she deeply cares, she is far from reliable but is not purely evil... well, she wasn't anymore.

While her attack is not strong, she makes up by passing toxic medicine to her enemies, which can slowly but surely knock them out. Giant Bosses have little effect and can shake it off, so don't let them catch her.

Flash Insane Escalation

Flash

One of the fastest superheroes of the DC Universe, Flash, while simplistic in look, remains iconic does to his vastly fast speed and able to make a combination of punches at intense speed. He is usually portrayed as calm and amical, but seems to support death penalty.

By far the fastest character of all, Flash can reach one zone to another, and his Quick Dodge allows him automatically avoid the first hit if his HP starts to run low. He can also make blazing fast combo, but his defense is far from durable compared to the Attackers.

Gargamel Insane Escalation

Gargamel

Gargamel and Azrael are the antagonists who are after the Smurfs since many years, but compared to the other villains, they are far from threatening... at least to anyone not a Smurf. And even so, Gargamel himself can resort into dangerous magic if pushed too far!

Gargamel is not a good physical fighter, but he does have powerful magic to make up for this, with many of them inflict various status ailments that not even other Support can inflict them, such as Struggle which involve an enemy attacking another one out of spite.

Infernape Insane Escalation

Infernape

The fully evolved form of Chimchar, the Fire-type 4th Gen Starter. Infernape is capable of learning multiple moves such as Flare Blitz, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot (from Chimchar) and Close Combat, making it adaptable in any fights.

Infernape is a fast attacker who is excellent on both close and long ranged combat. Unlike Hariyama, Infernape does not like to get hit and need to maneuver correctly to survive in the intense battlefield.

Bellossom Insane Escalation

Bellossom

Bellossom is a Grass-type Pokémon of the Oddish line. Unlike the other Pokémon of the family line, Bellossom lacks the Poison-type but is associated with the sun, with a supportive role with the Healer Ability.

Bellossom is surprisingly durable for a small Pokémon, and is able to heal herself or nearby allies out of their ailments with Healer. She can also drain HP of enemies with Giga Drain and Leech Seed.

Sandy Cheeks Insane Escalation

Sandy Cheeks

Sandy Cheeks is a Texan karate specialist who is also an expert in science and technology. While she is a very good friend with SpongeBob, this is rather debatable with the more airheaded Patrick.

Sandy is a fairly strong and fairly fast squirrel able to perform atheltic feats in order to overwhelm her foes. She can also use lasso and her technology perks to both help out her allies and to hinder her enemies.

Scrooge McDuck Insane Escalation

Scrooge McDuck

Scrooge McDuck may be a cheapskate (and even a true jerk at worst!), but he had a gold heart beneath that grumpiness. He is also adventurous, and unlike a crustaceous cheapskate, he begrudingly admits that he had to spend in order to continue his business. He also consider luck as pure coincidence.

He is well-rounded for an old-aged duck, but he can use his stick for various uses, such as bouncing around like a pogo and slapping projectiles and small obstacles back to enemies. He can also support them with his collectibles he had collected during his "retro-styled adventures".

King Dedede Insane Escalation

King Dedede

King Dedede may look likes your typical Nintendo villain considering he is the self-proclaimed King of Dreamland, but he is at least partially responsible and actually do his best to stop all menaces from invading Dreamland. Too bad that Kirby's misunderstoodness or brainwashing foes gets on his way so constantly...

His hammer may make him a powerhouse, but what make him stand out from other Tanks is that he is actually fast to make up for having no ranged attacks (outside of a few attacks as Masked Dedede, his Upgrade). He can also summon Kirby enemies such as Waddle Dee to give him a helping hand.

Obelix Insane Escalation

Obelix

Obelix is Asterix's best friend, and the deurotagonist of the latter's comic book adventures. Obelix is—eh... --- "big-boned" and is often seen with his buddy dog, Dogmatix. He also regulary works to carries standing stones, who according to everybody during the Caesar era, had no real uses... other than him throwing them like weapons.

Obelix is matched by (???) for being the strongest, and have good melee range when he uses a standing stone. He can also use Dogmatix to temporily immobolize even non-Giant Bosses, as the dog bites their poor behind!

Roger Rabbit Insane Escalation

Roger Rabbit

From a novel to a well-known cartoon-live-action movie, Who Framed Roger Rabbit stars an eccentric but friendly rabbit called Roger Rabbit. He is wacky and unlucky in his cartoons, but he remains nice and a-dork-able outside of those cartoons.

Roger Rabbit had high speed and reasonably high defense, which reflect the fact that he is a cartoon. Like the Vampire Mii, he can come back just fine after being K.O'd, and he can distract the enemies with his funny (or annoying) antics.

Wigglytuff Insane Escalation

Wigglytuff

Wigglytuff is the Evolution of Jigglypuff from Generation 1, and is a Normal/Fairy-type. Its eyes are always clean and will wash away any dirt, and it can inflate to float. Guildmaster Wigglytuff from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorer of Time/Darkness/Sky is the most well known portrayal of this Pokémon.

This Wigglytuff is more based of the well-known Mystery Dungeon portrayal; she may be slow, but she has a lot of HP, power and defenses, making comparable to Tanks. She can also jump multiple times, like the Super Smash Bros. Jigglypuff. Her Hyper Voice also makes an useful crowd control attack.

Death Egg Robot Insane Escalation

Death Egg Robot

One of the deadliest machines that Dr. Robotnik, now known as Dr. Eggman, had conveived. The old doctor had to atone now that the Balance Guardian caught him doing such reckless destruction in the light of Sonic Forces...

The Death Egg Robot is, by far, the strongest and resilient among Giants, making the machine a Tank among them. While slow on ground and air speed, and will sink in water, its various weapons, as well as some new parts, will help it to turn the tide.

Aqua Bomber Insane Escalation

Aqua Bomber

Not to be confused with the literal Aqua Bomber, this Aqua Bomber is one of the Bomberman Siblings, and does not take violence well. Especially if she ends up being the victim...

Aqua Bomber is a composite of herself and the gamestyle of White Bomberman's multiple appearances, making her an aggressive approach, which is ironic to her peaceful intention. Her attack is average when calm, but very high when angered.

Arthur Insane Escalation

Sir Arthur

Sir Arthur is the player character hero of the Ghosts and Goblins series, who while having slow speed and low jump, is able to survive (almost) everything as long as he got an armor. He becomes vulnerable when he is exposed with his goofy underpants. When he wears the golden armor or one of its variant, he becomes magically enhanced and can power-up his weapon.

Sir Arthur can use various weapons and shields he uses during his multiple adventures, and despite his low jump and low speed, he actually have two seperate HP bars; one for his armor, and one for himself. This means that as long as he has his armor, not even OHKO attacks can outright kill him.

Palkia Insane Escalation

Palkia

Palkia is a Water/Dragon Space Pokémon, who had conflicts with Dialga a few times, and is the mascot of Pokémon Pearl version. While generally overshadowed by the Diamond mascot rival, Palkia is no joke and unlike most mascot legendary since Generation 3, it got a Speed of 100, which is quite a lot.

This Palkia is both powerful in close ranged and long ranged combat, with Spatial Rend that deals much more damage when used on a target that is making an attack or charging a move. Like Swampert, she is also an excellent swimmer, and her large size is nothing too hinderful does to her wide range, even when compared to Mothra's.

Tera Inkling Insane Escalation

Tera Inkling

Art by WesternSkies (tbc)

The Inklings are humanoid squids that lives in Inkopolis, and often duke it out in Turf Wars with style. The Tera Inklings are introduced in Splatoon Splash-Out as the very powerful and gigantic form of Inklings after they consumed a Super Sushi.

The Tera Inkling have the best running speed among Giants, and while unable to get into her squid form, she can control her tentacles for more rapid close combat. She can also use Super Jump in order to reach one place or another, but reckless use will leave her vulnerable to ambush, while a good use will allows her for making her own ambush.

FrostMan Insane Escalation

Frost Man

Frost Man is an hulking, durable, super strong (in term of strength of course) ice Robot Master introduced in Mega Man 8. While not the brightest robot, his durability is only surpassed by Hard Man and easily rivalize Guts Man's strength, if not outright overpower the latter.

Frost Man, while unable to swim and get slow ground speed, have frightening air speed despite his weight and the best defense and strength among non-Giants (and even rivalize actual Giants!), and his Ice Wave can immobilize most enemies, and even some bosses! His close combat also have amazing range, which combining with his air speed, makes running away a risky solution.

Toadette Insane EscalationToadette

Archivist Toadette is the faithful partner of Captain Toad in the latter's adventures. While spunky and energetic, she does have more sense than Captain Toad and avoid troubles unless if she needs to, like if her friend is into a serious danger.

While quick and nimble, her jumps are poor, meaning that an arena with few platforms requires her Super Jump to travel through. Her Turnips can also stuns enemies and deals a multi-hits on larger bosses. She can also brings more items than others thanks to her backpack.

N. Brio Insane EscalationDr. Nitrus Brio

Doctor Nitrus Brio is one of the Crash Bandicoot series antagonistic doctors. He was a partner of Dr. Cortex in Crash Bandicoot 1, but they broke their partnership and N. Brio goes on his own, at least until Twinsanity. He is notable for his outrageous ego, prominently shown in Crash: Mind Over Mutants.

Dr. N Brio is made for crowdcontrol in two ways; his potions can make blobs that can slowly but surely distract the target before he can bombard them with his other, more explosive potions, or he can become temporily a powerful Tank by drinking his own potions and hulking out for a rampage.

Assist Characters[]

Assist Characters are assistants that can be summoned during either Prepare Phase, Move Phase or Battle Phase, depended on the Assist Character. They can only be summoned once per turn, but each character can handle a different Assist Character.

Enemies[]

The baddies of the game. There are more than 50 enemies (variation not included), more than 20 bosses and around ten Super Bosses.

Bosses[]

Bosses are tougher than enemies and trickier to defeat does to their higher HP, rougher attacks or other reasons. There are three type of bosses; normal bosses, Giant Bosses and Super Bosses. Bosses with an asterisk (*) means that this boss is optional to fight.

  • Normal Bosses will have no italic text unlike Giant Bosses, and are the more basic bosses. They only have three phases and can be thrown by anyone.
  • Giant Bosses are among the biggest bosses and have italic text in their name. They can only be thrown by Tanks and Giants, and are much more tougher to face than regular bosses. They also have much higher HP than average Bosses, like how Giant Characters have higher HP than average characters.
  • Super Bosses are faced as the last boss of each Main World and even in some Minor Worlds. They are by far the toughest bosses the players are going to face, and have four phases unlike the two above. They tend to be very tricky or super tough to defeat, and even skilled players must be prepared to face them.
  • Final Bosses, while there are only a few of them, are the toughest of the toughest, with five phases and a wide array of attacks. Defeating just one of them is a true accomplishment.

Super Bosses[]

Final Bosses[]

Worlds[]

Each World can be explored to fight enemies, find Golds, gather new Moves and other various activities with other players and NPCs. The Fight Zones can be fought again at any time with the Rematch Block.

Main Worlds[]

Although the Super Bosses does not match the origin location, the NPCs and common enemies does. The explanation behind this is that the conflict had already wagered, and a few amount of Super Bosses might noticed something is not right, even for them, once you defeat them.

Super Bosses: Master Hand & Crazy Hand

Hyrule (ALTTP)

SNES Hyrule

This is Hyrule during the era of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the first time we see more livid people and even had a counterpart called the Dark World. Hyrule had a more calm field while Dark World is more aggressive, which means you need to stay prepared when switchig the two worlds.

Super Boss: Magica De Spell

Kirby Pop Star

Pop Star

Pop Star had been attempted to be destroyed or conquered by multiple evil forces; the malevolent Nightmare, the tricky Marx, the abominable Dark Matter and their leader Zero, the selfish Queen Sectonia, the invading Haltmann Company and even the Wicked Star Exateno, but Kirby had stopped all of them. Similarly to Miitopia, it had more varied terrains, but there is emphasis on discovering secret paths.

Super Boss: Nebiroth

Inkopolis

Inkopolis

Home of (almost) all Inklings, it is splitted into Inkopolis Plaza and Inkopolis Square, which both had their own quirky shopkeepers, and the former is best known for the quirkier pop star duo, the Squid Sisters, and for the latter, the Off the Hook. The arenas are less varied in term of terrains, but does have different structure which requires a wise strategy, as the enemies can take advantage of this.

Super Boss: Dr. Facilier

Crocodile Isle DKC2

Crocodile Isle

Once accidentally destroyed by the Kongs, King K. Rool had managed to revive it after making a deal with Dr. Wily. This isle is indeed one of the homelands of all Kremlings, and it had among the most dangerous terrains, so proceed carefully. It is also full of treasures, so Wario might love this place when he knows where to find them!

Trivia[]

  • There are less playable characters than its spiritual prequel. Samtendo reveals that he aims for more quality than quantity and focuses on making each of them more unique.
  • Unlike Team All-Stars, only four Team Fortress 2 representatives are confirmed to be playable, which are Demoman, Heavy Weapons Guy, Scout and Medic. The rest of the nine classes are relegated into Assists.
  • The Boss tables are a combination of the boss character table from My Bleak Empire (by Bleak Moonlight (tbc)) and the boss table from Boss Battles (by Exotoro (tbc)), thus I give credit for both of the users for their respective tables.
