The Hunter-Type is a Pokémon Type that appears in some Pokémon Games. The Type is themed around Pokémon which are based on natural predators or equipment associated with hunting.
Hunter-Type is a high offense type, being effective against five other types including all three Starter-Types. It is however heavily balanced out by having numerous types that counter it including Ice, Psychic and Ghost which directly counter it, Normal-Type which resists it and Poison-Type which is also super-effective against it. Hunter-Type's primary role is as an Anti-Starter Type as well as an Anti-Fairy Type as its main matchups work around countering those types.
