Green Hill Zone is a major location in the Sonic series.
Appearances
Gradient Hue
In Gradient Hue, Green Hill Zone is a tier 1 world. In this world, Gradient explores but is soon surrounded by Egg Pawns. After defeating them, Sonic the Hedgehog shows up and brings Gradient to Station Square. Gradient is able to recruit any two of these people for this world:
After getting into Eggman's base and defeating him and his Shadow Motobug, a wormhole opens back up into the Battle Frontier, and Sonic releases a Halfcharm. Gradient decides to put this together with another Halfcharm to open more wormholes.
Sonic Heroes 2
In Sonic Heroes 2, the Green Hill Zone is the central location of the map. It is the location for Sonic of Team Sonic. The Green Hill Zone has four deviants in this game.
Mecha Green Hill Zone
In Sonic Heroes 2, part of Green Hill Zone has been roboticized; this is due to the trail of destruction caused by the new (then) Dr. Kintobor as he moved out of his underground laboratory. This roboticization has never been fully fixed, but to this day offers access to the old laboratory which, in numerous storylines, contains powerups (Team Sonic's storyline contains four pairs of "Light Shoes" which enable travel across paths of rings, for example).
Resort Island
West Green Hill Zone, alongside parts of Aqua Lake Zone, can be used by Team Babylon as a racecourse, an opportunity which is taken up when Team Babylon race Team Sonic.
Emerald Hill Zone
Emerald Hill Zone is a deviant of Green Hill Zone. Because it is surrounded by laboratories and other artifices, it makes a superb getaway for Shadow of Team Sonic.
Half of Emerald Hill Zone was mauled by Eggman into the mechapolis Chemical Plant Zone.
Great Turquoise Zone
Great Turquoise is another Green Hill deviant. Because of it being accessible only by one location, it is ideal for Silver of Team Sonic.
Sonic Time
Green Hill Zone is the third stage in Sonic Time, but is re-named "Green Hills". This is where Vello the Porcupine and Sonic the Hedgehog are living.
