The Goomba engine is a game engine developed by Morningwood Industries and given to Goomba Games for use on their Super Mario games starting with New Super Mario Bros. Fallen Overworld: Redux. The engine was developed to allow the games its developed on look like older titles in the Super Mario series and its primary feature would be the 2.5D platformer feel. The engine could also be modified to allow 3D video games and play like the Super Mario Galaxy games.

Following popular demand, Morningwood Industries developed and released the Goomba SDK, an open-source software used for creating games within the engine.

Free Use license[]

With the Goomba Software Development Kit, community developers are able to utilize the engine and create their own games within the engine. Modifications are also allowed on the engine as well, allowing total freedom over how developers utilize the Goomba engine.
