Google Stadia, known in development as Project Stream, is a cloud gaming service developed by Google. Accessible through any device that can access the web browser Google Chrome, Stadia allows users to stream games over the internet. Google proudly boasts their ability to do so with a 4k resolution and running at 60 frames per second provided the user have access to a high-speed internet connection. The service competes with the similar game streaming services offered by Microsoft and Sony, Project xCloud and PlayStation Now respectively.

The Google Stadia features connectivity with Google's video sharing website Youtube. In addition to including the ability to natively stream to the website from the Stadia service, it also includes a feature dubbed "state share" that allows players to share save states with others allowing friends or fans to pick up from the very same moment.

Unlike similar streaming services for television programs, such as Netflix, Stadia users do not need to pay a monthly fee for access to the platform, rather simply purchasing single titles as one would on traditional gaming consoles. A monthly fee subscription service does exist however, with a Pro tier subscription allowing for higher quality of streaming and granting the user a small collection of free titles accessible as they are subscribed to the service.
