Super Smash Bros. Salvo (working title) is a Super Smash Bros. game produced by Hammy Games Inc. It has the biggest roster of any game in the series so far, with over 100 characters. It was made specifically for the purpouse of adding in unexpected characters, putting twists on commonly requested characters and ultimately making every character unique despite there being so many. We are open to suggestions in the comments.

New Game Modes[]
Tag-Team Smash[]
In Tag Team Smash, you will engage in a regular Smash battle, with a twist. At the start, you will choose 2 to 4 characters, depending on the rules you decide on. In battle, you can switch between these characters via a taunt, making these battles very unpredictable.
Roulette Smash[]
In this mode, you don’t choose your characters! Of course, certain rulesets will allow you to choose who you start the fight as. When you are defeated, you will respawn as a randomly selected character from the roster. Really, it’s all up to luck!
Smash Tower[]
In Smash Tower, you are tasked with climbing a large tower. Seems easy enough, right? No, you saw this twist coming. Each floor will present you with a new challenge. Though most floors house short fights, some require you to complete a Target Smash or otherwise. As you get higher in the tower, battles will become longer and more challenging. Every fifth floor will present you with a tougher battle, and every tenth with a boss. Regardless of which it is, the outcome is the same. If you defeat this challenger, you will be given three options: forfeit with your gathered spoils, continue with a extra stock, or continue with no benefits, leading to greater prizes.
Task Board[]
Think of the Task Board as a mini-Events mode. Each day will present you with a handful of challenges to complete. These may range from beating an opponent under certain circumstances, or to fulfill certain conditions in your regular play. These Tasks will reward you with bonuses such as Trophies or Gold. Task Board mode is compatible with Event Creator.
Event Creator[]
In Super Smash Bros. Salvo, you can create your own Events with the Event Creator! You can select fighters, teams, time limits, items, the stage and pretty much any other ruleset. Furthermore, you can upload these Events to the Task Board for players across the world to play and give feedback.
Boss Smash[]
In this new mode, one player takes the role of a boss and all of their devastating abilities against the other players, who take the role of regular fighters. The team of regular fighters must defeat the boss player to win.
Fabled Smash[]
Returning from Super Smash Bros. Conquest, Fabled Smash is a regular Smash battle that is constantly altering itself. Assist Trophies and Pokéballs may work against you, stages can swap, controls can be reversed, you may swap characters with another player, Smash Run enemies could appear... The possibilities are endless in a Fabled Smash!
Soccer Smash[]
Soccer Smash can only be played on larger stages with a horizontal focus, most of the time symmetrical. Best played in teams, a soccer ball will spawn in the center of the stage. Your goal is to use your attacks to launch the soccer ball into the enemy goals to score points. At the end of the match, whoever scored the most goals wins. While you can launch enemies off the stage, it shouldn’t be your main focus, but it will buy you some time. Overall, we hope this can be an enjoyable and fun mode, despite how simple it is.
Capture The Flag[]
Like with Soccer Smash, Capture The Flag can only be played on stages with a horizontal focus. The players are split into two teams, each with their own base at either side of the stage. On each base is a colour-coded Special Flag which must be captured from the enemy base and brought back to your own.
Default Characters[]
Super Mario | |||
Mario |
Mr. Video Game himself, it'd be a shame not to include Mario! Mario plays much like in the previous games, being a balanced character with a good jump. He gains a new special move in this installment and some of his smash attacks now make use of his hammer. | Standard - Fireball | |
---|---|---|---|
Peach |
Peach is the graceful and loved princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. While she's often kidnapped by the evil Koopa King, Bowser, she can definitely hold her own - she's even gone on an adventure of her own! In Super Smash Bros., Peach is a lightweight who can definitely deliver some heavy blows. She can glide in midair and counter attacks with her neutral special move. Who said girls can't fight? | Standard - Toad | |
Captain Toad Newcomer! |
An explorer famed across the Mushroom Kingdom, Captain Toad treks in! He comes armed with his trusty pickaxe, as well as a backpack filled to the brim with treasures. He may look nimble, but his bag is actually his downfall! It’s very heavy and weighs our hero down, but this problem can be solved easily. Certain moves will let Captain Toad throw items from his backpack, lightening the load and making the captain quicker, but easier to launch. If your percentage is high, it might be in your best interests to catch projectiles with Captain Toad’s down special. He comes with a Captain Toadette alternate costume. | Standard - ??? | |
Ballyhoo & Big Top Newcomers! |
The much-loved hosts of the Star Carnival, Ballyhoo & Big Top bring the party! The eccentric duo consists of the ever-enthusiastic MC Ballyhoo and his slightly creepy hat, Big Top. They are not your typical duo, since one member of the duo can’t attack by himself at all! MC Ballyhoo is the leader of the operation, but none of it would be possible without his trusty partner. Truly an inseparable duo, one cannot be launched without the other! Taking after the Mario Party series which they originated from, Ballyhoo and Big Top are intended to be a fun pair of fighters whose moveset focuses on controlling the stage and pure luck. Their attacks use items from Mario Party minigames, especially their debut game, Mario Party 8. | Standard - ??? | |
Paper Mario Newcomer! |
Paper Mario flattens the competition! Paper Mario is the paper version of Mario. Despite his 2-dimensional roots, Paper Mario is still keen on the whole princess-saving business! In battle, Paper Mario is a lightweight who can deliver heavy blows. His attacks mainly involve the use of stickers and his hammer. Some of his Smash Attacks require you to input button commands similarly to in his debut games. Depending on how you execute these, some splash words will appear, such as "Nice!" and "Stylish!". | Standard - Koops | |
The Legend of Zelda | |||
Link |
The bearer of the Triforce of Courage and the Hero who is reincarnated when Hyrule needs him most. Link wields the Master Sword and a wide array of items in battle. He's slow, like in previous games, but powerful. | Standard - Hero's Bow | |
Zelda |
Zelda is the princess of Hyrule and bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom. Like in previous installments, she is a magic user who is better at a distance. However, she now comes armed with a rapier in a few of her standard attacks, boosting her melee game. | Standard - Nayru's Love | |
Lana Newcomer! |
Lana, also known as the White Witch, is a bearer of the Triforce of Power. She uses a variety of weapons in battle, mainly relying on the magical aspects of her tome. While her Book of Sorcery has electric and mirror magic, her Deku Spear can act as a melee weapon or, like her Summoning Gate, create allies. She also uses Cia's staff and has an alternate costume of Cia. | Standard - Deku Scrub | |
Agitha Newcomer! |
Agitha bugs out! Agitha is the self-proclaimed princess of insects, but really she’s just a girl with a distinct fascination with bugs, especially of the golden variety! Agitha is a slow and floaty character who uses her parasol and various kinds of insects in her moveset. These range from tiny golden butterflies to giant green beetles, you should definitely watch yourself around this little girl! Giant golden butterfly wings can sprout from her back, allowing heavy Smash Attacks and excellent recovery. | Standard - ??? | |
Midna Newcomer! |
Midna is the eponymous Twilight Princess, cursed to take the form of an imp. Midna is a slow, floaty character who can be launched easily. However, all these things change when she dashes. Her dash summons her trusty steed, Wolf Link. When riding Wolf Link, Midna’s speed is increased drastically and attacks will not launch her as far. However, Wolf Link will disappear through a Twilight Portal as soon as Midna stops running. When it comes to combat, Midna is very tricky. She utilises her ability to teleport, control over Twilight and her hand-like hair to forge a unique, never-before-seen moveset. | Standard - ??? | |
Ravio Newcomer! |
Ravio is a perky merchant donning a bunny-like hood who sets up shop inside Link’s house without permission. He sounds like a jerk, but he sells items essential to Link’s adventure. In Smash, he uses these items to attack. The Tornado Rod can be used to gain extra altitude, Sand Rod for creating pillars of sand and more! All of them have the adorable bunny ears indicating that they are under Ravio’s possession. As well as these weapons, Ravio wears a bracelet which allows him to become a painting. Above Ravio’s damage percentage is a Magic Meter. All of Ravio’s Special and Smash Attacks use up some of the Magic Meter, and once it’s empty, you’ll have to wait for it to regenerate over time. | Standard - ??? | |
Splatoon | |||
Inkling Newcomer! |
Inklings are the dominant species of Inkopolis, who love to get messy in Turf Wars. Here, they're tricky characters. They fight with ink-themed weapons such as the Inkbrush or Splattershot. Their attacks will cover the stage in ink, which they can swim in as a squid to recover ink. Inklings do not have palette swaps, instead they can switch gender and change their clothing. The colour of their hair and ink is chosen randomly, unless you are in a team battle. | Standard - Splat Charger | |
Pokémon | |||
Pikachu |
The Electric Mouse Pokémon has been a fighter since the first installment, and now is no different. Pikachu is a quick character who attacks with electric-themed abilities. As well as being one of the fastest characters in the game, Pikachu has great recovery. Pikachu's palette swaps have it wearing costumes, the Cosplay Pikachu outfits among them. | Standard - Thunder Jolt | |
Grovyle & Celebi Newcomers! |
Two refugees from a destroyed future - that sounds pretty dark considering they're from a Pokémon game. Grovyle & Celebi are a team, but don't function exactly like it. Both attack when given the command, but can be separated. Grovyle runs faster than Celebi and is stronger, but they are stronger together than apart. In addition, their up special requires Celebi and theit down needs Grovyle. In their standard attacks, they make use of items from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. | Standard - Magical Leaf | |
Vespiquen Newcomer! |
Vespiquen is a Pokémon originating from Pokémon Diamond & Pearl versions! She's a dual Bug-Flying type, and an exclusively female evolution of Combee. Being tied slowest flying type with Togetic, she's a slow character. However, she's unique in that she's slow and light, with decent attack power. Her primary method of attack utilizes her loyal servants, little bees. She can also attack with her claws and has a good jump. The bees will go into formations like fists, pincers, etc., though they can be killed, leaving Vespiquen much weaker. Bees are more vulnerable during attacks, but will regenerate over time. | Standard - Heal Order | |
Lopunny Newcomer! |
Lopunny bounces into action! The Rabbit Pokémon is a speedy fighter with an exceptional jump! Her focus is on relentless speedy punches and kicks, but can stop at any time and automatically distance herself from her foe. Lopunny can be launched easily, but can recover quickly thanks to her excellent air game. As well as her powerful fists and feet, a few of Lopunny’s attacks use her ears. | Standard - ??? | |
Mawile Newcomer! |
The Steel/Fairy type Pokémon, Mawile makes a snappy entrance! Mawile is not two-faced, but two mouthed. Her ponytail mouth acts as another mean of attacking - in fact, it’s Mawile’s main method of offense! As a Fairy type, Mawile can be easily tossed around, but her Steel typing gives her good defense against powerful attacks and give her some pretty strong attacks herself. Mawile’s moveset makes heavy use of her second chomper, which can deal heavy damage and above average knockback. As a downside, it has small range for the most part and Mawile is untrained with her other limbs, though she is capable of making a speedy getaway. ...Talk about a mouthful. | Standard - ??? | |
Kirby | |||
Kirby |
Kirby's the name you should know! Nobody really knows what Kirby is. He's a pink puffball who frequently saves Dreamland from peril and can absorb the abilities of his foes. He's among the lightest characters in the game and boasts good speed too, as well as his jumping abilities being great. By using his neutral special, Kirby can steal an opponent's moves. | Standard - Inhale | |
Waddle Dee Newcomer! |
King Dedede's loyal minion, Waddle Dee gets to the point! With a bandanna-bearing alternate costume, this little guy definitely isn't like most other Waddle Dees! He wields a spear, parasol, and who knows what else! He's even able to summon his fellow followers of Dedede to assist him! | Standard - Spear Throw | |
Yarn Kirby Newcomer! |
When Kirby entered Patch Land, he took on a softer design, if that’s possible. Yarn Kirby unravels! His size and speed are the same as his organic counterpart, but the similarities end there. Yarn Kirby can jump higher than his original but lacks the amount of jumps. However, most of his attacks have tethering abilities. When it comes to attacking, Yarn Kirby utilizes his many transformations - be it via a Metamortex or not - and a yarn whip. This whip is the main focus of his weak, combo and aerial attacks and has excellent range. Prince Fluff comes as an alternate costume. | Standard - ??? | |
Sir Kibble Newcomer! |
Sir Kibble makes the cut! Sir Kibble is a common enemy who, when inhaled by Kirby, gives the Cutter ability. In Smash, Sir KIbble is a speedster who makes use of a boomerang-like blade referred to as a Cutter. Once thrown, it will fly for a short distance before returning to Sir Kibble, spinning and slashing all the while. Even after throwing his Cutter, Sir Kibble is capable of attacking with a slightly smaller version. This means Sir Kibble is very combo-focused and is excellent at juggling opponents. | Standard - ??? | |
Daroach Newcomer! |
Daroach is one of Kirby’s greatest enemies. In his first game, he started out by taking Kirby’s cake. By the end, he summoned Dark Nebula, an entity composed of pure darkness. As you might imagine, he’s a formidable foe on the battlefield. He hovers slightly above the ground most of the time, making him very quick and great in the air thanks to his excellent jump and aerials. He wields an ancient artefact known as the Triple Star in battle. The Triple Star is capable of shooting three stars that come back around, but is pretty strong in itself. | Standard - Triple Star | |
Kid Icarus | |||
Pit |
Pit is the loyal servant of Lady Palutena, goddess of light. Despite being an angel, he's not able to fly without help from his goddess! How lame is that? Pit is a pretty balanced character with multiple jumps. He wields a vast array of weapons, making him pretty unpredictable. He is able to use a special taunt, Palutena's Guidance, on his home stage, in which he converses with the gods about his current foe. | Standard - Palutena's Arrow | |
Palutena |
Palutena alights! The benevolent goddess of Skyworld comes back for another round. Though she remains relatively untouched from the previous game, Palutena is a projectile-focused character. That isn't to say she can't take on a foe from close quarters though. In her attacks, shje mostl utilises light or her wings. | Standard - Autoreticle | |
Viridi Newcomer! |
Viridi is the goddess of nature who takes on a youthful appearance. Her attacks revolve around her staff and the summoning of the Forces of Nature to fight alongside her. She is a slow character, but her heavy staff makes up for where her speed lets her down. You don't really need speed that much either, when you've got so many projectiles. | Standard - ??? | |
Drawn to Life | |||
Drawn Hero Newcomer! |
Drawn Hero creates victory! While his stats are nothing to write home about - they are very similar to that of Toon Link’s - Drawn Hero’s true potential lies in his Creator mechanic. He wields several weapons in battle, ranging from a sword to a gun that shoots acorns, but none of them would exist without the help of the Creator. When not in use, Drawn Hero will remain weaponless. However, when Drawn Hero decides to go on the offensive and attack, the Creator will provide him with the weapon he desires. So, as Drawn Hero swings his sword, the Creator will draw it and colour it. This means his weapons are most powerful when fully coloured and drawn. | Standard - ??? | |
Fantasy Life | |||
Fantasy Hero Newcomer! |
Fantasy Hero livens up! Fantasy Hero is the avatar character from the 3DS title, Fantasy Life. As such, alternate costumes for the Fantasy Hero include gender swaps and varying skin and hair colours. In Smash, Fantasy Hero is balanced in terms of stats but has a rather unpredictable moveset. Fantasy Hero utilises elements from the possible Lives from their debut game, though focuses on the Paladin life. | Standard - ??? | |
Wonderful 101 | |||
Wonder Red Newcomer! |
Wonder Red is a Wonderful One, and the leader of the Wonderful 101! He weighs in similarly to Mario and focuses on dishing out KOs with his Vulcan Knuckles. He does have access to other Wonderful One weapons, but uses them mostly in his special moves. His moves revolve around his ability to charge nearly every attack similarly to a Smash attack, in the form of a Unite Morph! | Standard - ??? | |
Nintendogs | |||
Nintendog & Trainer Newcomer! |
Nintendog & Trainer are more bite than bark! That’s not to say the adorable dog doesn’t bark a lot, though. Nintendog is part of a very exclusive club, being one of the few quadrupedal characters in Super Smash Bros. Quite a feat! Nintendog does not attack, but its trainer doesn’t either. The trainer simply directs Nintendog with a stylus and Nintendog just follows it, like a cat with a laser pointer. This adorable lil’ guy wouldn’t intentionally hurt you! Speaking of cats, Nintencats are available as alternate costumes, as well as other breeds of dog. | Standard - ??? | |
Others | |||
eShopper Newcomer! |
eShopper checks in! eShopper is the face of the Nintendo eShop, who always has a smile on his face to brighten up your day, even when your game won’t download. eShopper plays similarly to the likes of Kirby, Villager and Pac-Man; he is a floaty character who can be launched far, but has good air game. Due to him being a bag, eShopper is a very light character; one of the lightest! This has advantages, as he is very floaty and can open up as a parachute to slow his already steady fall. His attacks make use of his straps as whips or ropes. eShopper can also throw download cubes a short distance, so he is similar to Mega Man in that some of his standard attacks involve projectiles. In addition, a minority of his attacks contain references to other DS or 3DS applications - such as his Side Smash involving a speech bubble from Nintendo DSi Sound.eShopper’s days of keeping that smug smile while we scream in agony at our cancelled downloads are no more! eShopper comes with a special mechanic involving capitalism and microtransactions! How awesome is that!? Above eShopper’s icon and damage percentage is his Balance. The more hits you land, shield or dodge, the more money you get in your Balance. Your Balance is important, since that’s what you’ll need to buy your Special moves. | Standard - Download Bomb | |
Boy & His Blob Newcomers! |
When Blobonia is in peril, a Blob travels to Earth in search of a brave soul to save his planet. The Blob encounters a young Boy who helps him dethrone an evil intergalactic emperor. In Smash, Boy & His Blob act as a duo. Boy can be launched much farther than Blob can, but no matter who gets launched, the other will follow. After all, Boy needs Blob to fight and Blob needs Boy to traverse the battlefield! With their combined ingenuity and Blob’s appetite for jellybeans, taking down opponents should be a breeze! | Standard - ??? | |
Mallo Newcomer! |
Mallo pushes in! The main playable character of Pushmo and Pullblox is our adorable hero, Mallo! Mallo is a slow powerhouse, but not in the typical sense. Mallo is constantly pushing and pulling a heavy block, just smaller than himself, around. With enough hits, the block will break, leaving Mallo helpless, but drastically boosting his agility. This slows him down a lot, but it also acts as his main method of attacking. Mallo can throw or push his block at opponents, as well as sprouting a few more blocks. | Standard - ??? | |
Super Smash Bros. | |||
Mii Brawler |
One of the many Mii Fighters and the first of the original three. Mii Brawlers do not use weapons; they prefer hand-to-hand combat. As such, they are very melee-focused but do have one or two projectile attacks. | Standard - Shot Put | |
Mii Gunner |
One of the many Mii Fighters and the second of the original three. Mii Gunners come armed with an arm cannon capable of shooting all kinds of projectiles. They prefer to keep their distance with energy projectiles and missiles. | Standard - Charge Blast | |
Mii Swordfighter |
One of the many Mii Figters and the last of the original three. Mii Swordfighters come ready with a blade and several mystical projectiles to work with. Acting as a balance between Gunners and Brawlers, Mii Swordfighters are skilled in every area of combat. | Standard - Gale Strike | |
Mii Athlete Newcomer! |
Mii Athlete is a Mii that loves to take part in sporting activities.These Mii Fighters use sport-themed attacks like tennis, karting and archery. They are recognized by the fact that they are always holding a sports utensil, be it a bowling ball, an oar or even a frisbee, as well as their short-sleeved shirts. | Standard - ??? | |
Mii Partier Newcomer! |
Mii Partier is a Mii Fighter who loves to, well, party! This Mii Fighter uses moves inspired by games such as Wii Party, Nintendo Land and Tomodachi Life. They are identifiable by their waistcoats and wacky items. | Standard - ??? | |
Mii Archer Newcomer! |
Mii Archer is a Mii with a sharp eye and great aim. They are identifiable by the fact that they hold a bow in hand and a quiver of arrows on their back. This Mii Fighter wields a vast array of arrow types, ranging from explosive to grappling arrows. Most of their attack can be charged and they are much better at long-range fighting. | Standard - ??? |
Unlockable Characters[]
Super Mario | |||
Luigi |
Mario's scaredy-cat brother, Luigi joins the battle once again! While he may not be as courageous as his older brother, Luigi has gone on some adventures of his own and now uses some elements of those! Now wielding his Poltergust and with the ability to create Luiginary Clones, nothing can stop the Green Thunder! | Standard - Poltergust Suck | |
---|---|---|---|
Pink Gold Peach Newcomer! |
Pink Gold Peach is a racing legend in the Mushroom Kingdom, looks like she's trying a new sport - fighting! Peach's metallic clone stays in her kart at all times, giving her incredible speed. This also makes her an extremely dangerous opponent, using both her kart and items from Mario Kart 8 to attack. | Standard - Super Horn | |
Construction Mario Newcomer! |
In terms of stats, Construction Mario and Mario are very alike. Our hard-hat wearing counterpart is slower, with a lower jump, but is a more technical character. Unlike his counterpart in the plumbing industry, this Mario centers around stage control. By summoning pixellated enemies and objects from his Tool Palette, he can really turn the tide of battle! A lot of his special attacks even summon actual platforms, staying true to the building nature of Mario Maker, from which all of his moves originate. As opposed to having three variations to his attacks, Construction Mario has a full alternate moveset which can be switched around. | Standard - Goomba | |
Chargin' Chuck Newcomer! |
Chargin’ Chuck charges into battle! Chargin’ Chucks are enemies whose primary attack method consists of charging toward Mario and co. headfirst. In Smash, Chargin’ Chuck is a heavyweight who is quick on his feet. His attacks revolve around a thing called football. Chuck can throw footballs across the battlefield, kick enemies and tackle them to a pulp! Way to go, Chuck! Super Mario World featured a wide variety of Chargin’ Chuck subspecies, which he takes abilities from too! Chargin’ Chuck can dig underground as a Diggin’ Chuck, crush enemies between his hands as a Clappin’ Chuck or pitch baseballs as a Confused Chuck. A helmetless variation is available. | Standard - Football Chuck | |
Boo Newcomer! |
From the haunted houses of the Mushroom Kingdom comes an unexpected fighter, Boo! Boo is small and floaty. Though not being very fast, Boo is exceptionally good at dodging attacks and thanks to floating a bit above the ground constantly, some attacks such as certain down tilts will not hit him. In the Super Mario games, Boos would stop in their tracks if you faced them. From that, Boo is much stronger when attacking from behind the enemy in this game. Through the use of his down special, Boo can increase his size to become a Boohemoth, increasing his power but reducing maneuverability. | Standard - Haunting | |
Tippi Newcomer! |
Tippi flips in! Tippi was once a poor girl stuck wandering between dimensions, until Merlon took her under his wing and turned her into a butterfly-like Pixl named Tippi. She accompanies Mario in his quest to gather the Pure Hearts and defeat Count Bleck and wields the ability to gather information on enemies and objects and to uncover invisible objects. In Smash, Tippi is an extreme lightweight. She attacks by splitting into four triangles and using her fellow Pixls in her customizable special attacks. Tippi can use a Smash Taunt in the form of Tattle. | Standard - Boomer | |
The Legend of Zelda | |||
Great Fairy Newcomer! |
Great Fairy is a slow but light character with great power. She has excellent jumping abilities, being a fairy and what not. Her attacks have great ending lag to make up for her speed and sheer size. She can summon her fairies to assist her in battle or use her Great Fairy Sword as her primary means of combat, as well as being armed with a variety of powered up weapons! | Standard - Bomb Drop | |
Linkle Newcomer! |
Linkle is, despite her looks, very different from her brother! Cousin? Genderswap? ...Link. Where Link is more power-focused, Linkle prefers to attack from a distance. That’s not to say she’s a bad close-quarters fighter, though! Linkle is very skilful with her feet and is an excellent kicker! What Link lacks in speed, Linkle makes up for tenfold. She’s a speedy sharpshooter who can strike when you least expect it! | Standard - Crossbow | |
Hilda Newcomer! |
Hilda is the princess of Lorule, and an antagonist of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Stat-wise, she's very similar to her Hyrulean counterpart, Zelda. However, their attacks vary greatly. Hilda wields a staff with the Lorulean Triforce emblem on it. Using her staff, Hilda can attack with dark magic that can be charged. As well as this, the staff works as a good melee weapon. Hilda can also summon paintings to trap enemies in or to reflect attacks. | Standard - ??? | |
Triforce Heroes Newcomers! |
Triforce Heroes team up! Trios have never been seen before in Smash, until now! Triforce Heroes are a team of three colour-coded Links, and let me be the first to say that they are rocking those colours! They come from the fashion-forward land of Hytopia, where the power of a good fashion sense is so important that you can’t make it through a dungeon without the right outfit! In Smash, the Triforce Heroes stick together at all time and attack simultaneously, but their attacks are completely unpredictable! Each Link uses a different weapon, allowing them to attack in three directions at once. The green Link uses a sword and acts very similarly to Toon Link, the blue Link uses a bow styled after that of Toon Link’s and the red Link has fiery gauntlets - a weapon our Toon Link lacks. Who would’ve thought “Link” could be said so many times in one sentence? Their alternate costumes feature outfits from The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes. | Standard - ??? | |
Ruto Newcomer! |
Ruto makes a splash! The sometimes rebellious princess of the Zora Kingdom comes armed with a Zora Scale. With this mystical item, Princess Ruto can control water. This means that she can create bubbles, streams of water or waves! A meter above Ruto’s damage percentage will fill up as she attacks. This meter is known as the Wave Meter and Ruto’s neutral special relies on it. Her neutral special involves a wave being summoned, but the size is dependant on how full the Wave Meter is. Ruto’s movements involve water-like physics. She does not walk, but swims. This means she is easy to launch, but falls very slowly and can slow her descent. | Standard - ??? | |
Twili Midna Newcomer! |
When Midna’s curse is finally broken, she takes on her true form; Twili Midna! In this form, Midna is much taller than most of the cast; she towers above Rosalina! Like Rosalina, Twili Midna is slow and likes to keep a distance between herself and her foes. Twili Midna is much more of a mage character than her imp form. She makes heavy use of her Twilight magic and controlling the battlefield from afar. In addition, Twili Midna uses weapons such as the Dominion Rod in battle. | Standard - ??? | |
Pokémon | |||
Aegislash Newcomer! |
Aegislash cuts in! Bringing swordfighters to a whole new level is the Royal Sword Pokémon, Aegislash. It hovers above the ground slightly all the time, making it an odd mix of lightness and defensiveness. Though slow, Aegislash makes up for that in power. Through the use of its down special, Aegislash can change stance, becoming more defensive in exchange for attack speed and power. This is especially useful, since lots of Aegislash's attacks leave it vulnerable for a time. | Standard - Swords Dance | |
Ambipom Newcomer! |
Ambipom lends a helping hand! Ambipom is certainly a unique fighter, what with his two hand-like tails. These tails are his main method of fighting, meaning he can deliver powerful and long-ranged blows. Of course, he can be slow due to his feet not being as powerful as his tails, but who needs speed when you’ve got two giant fists? He has actual hands for a reason, too. Ambipom can attack with these, but they're pretty weak. After all, they're probably not used that much. All of Ambipom's special attacks and the vast majority of his regular and Smash attacks revolve around his fist tails. | Standard - Double Hit | |
Darkrai Newcomer! |
Darkrai emerges from the shadows! Darkrai is said to bring nightmares and, along with Cresselia, makes up the Lunar Duo. In battle, Darkrai is speedy and evasive. It is best to stay tactical when playing as Darkrai, as it isn’t the best attacker. When it does attack, it comes in the form of claw swipes and dark energy. Darkrai’s main focus is on sending foes to sleep and then eating their dreams via its special moves. | Standard - ??? | |
Splatoon | |||
Squid Sisters Newcomers! |
The Squid Sisters face the music! They are a team character, but less so like the Ice Climbers and more of an advanced Duck Hunt. They fight together and you can switch the lead singer at any time via taunts, changing how some attacks function. Marie uses a Charger - a range focused ink-shooting weapon - while Callie wields a Roller - a melee weapon made for bulldozing foes. As well as their weapons, the Squid Sisters use the power of song to fight. They can attack by striking poses or dancing, like Wii Fit Trainer in a sense. These attacks are the same regardless of who is the lead dancer. By using a taunt on Bluefin Depot, they will be able to communicate with Agents 1 and 2 of the Squidbeak Splatoon and Cap'n Cuttlefish. | Standard - ??? | |
Octoling Newcomer! |
Octoling is a semi-clone of Inkling. They have the exact same stats as their squid-kid counterparts, but have a different arsenal of weapons at their disposal, though not many at that. Their moveset focuses on obstacles used in Octo Valley, as well as the spreading of ink. While they do sometimes use Octoshots, they much prefer the obstacles from their home. These include, but are not limited to, Sponges, Inkrails, Gushers and Spreaders. | Standard - ??? | |
DJ Octavio Newcomer! |
Enter the Octobot King, DJ Octavio! Octavio fights dirty; he's in a giant mech! It's going to take some serious skill to take down Octavio, what with his size, weight and sheer power. His size is his downfall, as he is an easy target and rather slow. Most of his attacks can be countered by hitting them back, a tactic which must be used to your advantage if you want to defeat him, staying true to his Boss nature. | Standard - Octorpedo | |
Kirby | |||
Queen Sectonia Newcomer! |
Queen Sectonia graces the battlefield! Queen Sectonia is a large character who moves with amazing grace for somebody of her stature. Though she falls rather quickly, her air game is excellent thanks to her wings. There is no time to bask in her beauty though, as she is a very powerful fighter. In her hands she holds two giant staves capable of creating lightning, summoning minions and so much more! As well as being excellent ranged weapons, they can make for some devastating melee attacks. Her minions - Antrs - wield either fire, ice or electric magic in their clubs. Queen Sectonia is also capable of summoning blossoms and jewels in battle, though these are included only in a minority of her attacks. | Standard - ??? | |
Spinni Newcomer! |
Spinni sneaks in! He is a part of Daroach's crew, the Squeak Squad. Armed with great speed and ninja-like abilities, overpowering your opponent with relentless attacks and combos is essential to Spinni's moveset. As one of the fastest characters in the game, Spinni is much better on the ground than in the air, much the opposite of his boss. His moveset makes use of his various ninja tools such as ninja stars and claws. Spinni also commands a small army of Squeakers in battle. Nobody really knows where they go when not in use. His cape? Probably. | Standard - Squeaker Command | |
Robobot Kirby Newcomer! |
Robobot Kirby suits up! Here in Smash, Robobot Kirby plays very differently from his unarmoured counterpart. In a way, it’s similar to the two Samus’s. Robobot Kirby is slow and very heavy, but makes up for it with brute strength. This means Robobot Kirby qualifies as a tank, both literally and figuratively! Unlike most tanks, Robobot Kirby has great range. He uses his giant robot fists to punch foes from a distance, as well as some Robobot modes not used in his special attacks. Use your laser blades to slice enemies (Sword Mode), shoot a golden boomerang (Cutter Mode), send out explosive robots (Bomb Mode) and more! Alternate colours are designed after Robobot modes. | Standard - Beam Mode | |

Badge Bunny Newcomer! |
The Badge Bunny, often referred to as the Arcade Rabbit, is the main man behind the Nintendo Badge Arcade, an application in which you use a grappling hand to pick up badges used to customize your home screen. When in battle, Badge Bunny uses these badges as a means of offense, rather than decorative items. Badges can be thrown, used as a shield and anything else the Badge Bunny can think of! Some badges, such as Majora’s Moon, have special effects, but the badges are randomly chosen. Some larger badges might be better for defending from attacks, while smaller ones might be more suited to being used as projectiles. Badge Bunny’s next badge in line will always be displayed above his damage percentage, allowing you to plan your attacks accordingly. In addition, Badge Bunny is not afraid to use a grappling hook in battle. | Standard - ??? | |
Ellie & Chomp Newcomers! |
The saviours of the Monster World, Ellie & Chomp make a new tale! They've defeated the Kid Kings, but how will they fare against the Nintendo all-stars? Ellie & Chomp are a duo who work similarly to Rosalina & Luma, but have completely different attacks - both in comparison to Rosalina and their partner. Where Chomp uses fireballs, Ellie shoots from her Band Blaster. Using a special move will cause Chomp to change form before attacking. This means that it is most effective to use a move if you are already in said form. | Standard - ??? | |
Shantae | |||
Shantae Newcomer! |
Shantae dances into battle! Shantae is the half-genie, all-hero who protects Scuttle Town from the evil pirate, Risky Boots. Armed with transformation powers and a sword, she’s all-dangerous! In battle, Shantae uses a sword and her hair as her primary methods of attacking. However, her Smash Attacks and Specials make use of her unique ability to transform into different animal forms to shake things up. Are you going to charge through enemies as an elephant, ambush foes as a monkey or simply dance through the danger in your humanoid form? | Standard - ??? | |
Rayman | |||
Rayman Newcomer! |
Rayman stretches in! This limbless wonder is the Glade of Dreams’ very own hero! Rayman’s lack of limbs gives him incredible reach, so much so that he may be considered a projectile fighter! Over the years, he has learnt many tricks. He can even fly using his hair! Is that awesome or what? Using this, he can slow his falling speed significantly. | Standard - ??? |
Default Stages[]
Super Smash Bros. | |||
Final Destination |
A platform floating between dimensions, supposedly. Nobody really knows what Final Destination is. All that is known is that it has some sort of connection with Omega Stages, and that Master Hand and Crazy Hand are fought here. This stage is completely hazardless and consists of a sole platform. | ||
---|---|---|---|
Battlefield |
Another simple stage, Battlefield dances on the border between competitive and casual play. Though there is plenty of room on the main platform to duke it out, you may choose to use the three suspended platforms to your advantage. As you fight, the stage goes through a day-to-night cycle which looks breathtaking. | ||
Super Mario | |||
World 1-1 |
World 1-1 is a sidescrolling stage based on 2D Mario platformers such as New Super Mario Bros. Hop through obstacles such as Goombas, Koopa Troopas, etc. and over pipes, brick blocks and such. All the while, fighting your enemies. It’s a race to the end, because whoever reaches the flagpole first gets an extra point or stock, like the Special Flag item. | ||
Splatoon | |||
Saltspray Rig |
Saltspray Rig is slightly bigger than the average stage. Think Luigi’s Mansion and a half. It takes place in the back area of the rig, where crates are stacked upon each other. The ground cannot be seen, so you must hop from crate to crate. On either side of the screen lies a small grated platform. Occasionally, a crane will lift a platform from side to side above the fighters. | ||
Pokémon | |||
Meeting Place |
Meeting Place is the central hub of the Poképark; an area which joins all the Zones together. The battle takes place in the towering treehouse as you climb. Pokémon will cheer you on from the sidelines while you visit the many floors. Once you reach the top, you must climb back down. The bottom of the stage takes place just outside the treehouse, so it is possible to walk off the stage. | ||
Route 210 |
Route 210 is an average sized stage. It takes place in Route 210 of Sinnoh, a route clouded in fog over a canyon. The stage takes place on one of the bike platforms, with a few suspended overhead. The stage is exceptionally foggy, so there are lots of places to hide, including the tall grass on the left side of the stage. |
