VOLT Seed is the fourth installment in the VOLT series, developed by Fantasize Studios and Bomb Productions Games. It was first teased before Fantendo World '13, and officially unveiled in the short Garden campaign. It features many new gameplay elements including dashing and the Garden, and will be released in early 2015.

Story[]

The story of VOLT Seed goes back to Second Impact's style of chapters, due to not having to deal with 3 stories. The chapters can be found below, and the list will be updated as more are released.

Gameplay[]

Controls (using WII U Gamepad)[]

  • Left control stick: Move around
  • Right control stick: Move camera
  • A: Jump (tap)/ Double Jump (tap twice)
  • B: Dash (tap)/Possess nearest enemy (hold)
  • X/Y: Interact with object (with Volt)/Use ability (with Seedling)
  • Touchscreen: Shift through menus
  • L/R: Shift to/from Garden
  • ZL/ZR: Zoom in/out

Overview[]

Dropping the multiple characters of Trinity, VOLT Seed focuses on revamping Volt to match with his older age and to make the game more engaging. Now, Volt can double jump, and has a small electrical Dash which lets him move twice as far as he usually could in the span of 5 seconds. He can also use this Dash to damage enemies. The biggest gameplay addition, however, is the Garden. In terms of gameplay, entering the Garden changes the landscape of a level to be overgrown with plants, and highly decreases the threat of enemies. However, Volt is much more vulnerable while in the Garden, and if you can't escape at one of the designated spots, then the enemies will grow even stronger than before. Some puzzles will require use of the Garden, and it has been described as "a unique element that can make your experience much different".

Enemies[]

See the Enemies page for this info.

Worlds[]

There are 9 new worlds in VOLT Seed, and for the first time in the series there is not a rigid order- you can pick 8 of the 9 levels from the start, and go in whatever order you want, with the 9th world being unlocked after defeating all others. Mid-bosses have also been added, and are faced 3/4 into the world.
