Super Smash Bros. is a 2013 American action sci-fi fantasy film by Paramount Pictures. It is once again directed by Jon Faverau, with Michael Bay in charge of the action scenes only. All the voices from the previous movies reprise their roles, including Hugo Weaving as Bowser. In the film, a secret organization recruits Mario and Luigi, Samus, Link, Yoshi and Donkey Kong to form a team that must stop Bowser from enslaving the human race with an army of Space Pirates from Metroid (film). It will be released in theatres on September 3, 2013. It is the fifth installment of the Nintendo Cinematic Universe. Despite being the most action-paced NCU installment, it is not the last one.

What the Invasion would look like from helicopter view.

An organization named S.M.A.S.H., which stands for the Special Mission Agentcy of Super Heroes, gains some intellegence from their spies that Bowser will soon return. The S.M.A.S.H. leader, R.O.B., decides to call upon a group of characters that could help them. They get Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong . They get Mario to the real world using a portal to get him from the Mushroom Kingdom, another portal to get Link to modern times, and Samus Aran gets to Earth on her ship, and Donkey Kong is brought there from The DK Island.

Meanwhile, a group of Koopa Troopa soliders, including Kamek, fish Bowser out of the lava pit. Bowser is now nothing more than a skeleton. Kamek creates a spell that can bring the dead back to life. It works, and Bowser is back as Dry Bowser. Dry Bowser reveals his new plan to his soliders. They are going to planet Zebes, where an entire army of Space Pirates lives. They get to Zebes, where they find Space Pirates that have disbanded since the death of Mother Brain in the Metroid movie. Dry Bowser tries to convince the Pirates to join his army, but they refuse. Dry Bowser uses Kamek's mind control spell to manipulate the Space Pirates into joining him and wait for the portal to get them to Earth. They say yes under the spell, and the Koopas proceed to head back to Earth. Meanwhile, the team gets taken to a military base that is owned by S.M.A.S.H. John gets a report that Dry Bowser has found an army and they plan to invade Brooklyn, Mario and Luigi's former home. Mario is shocked and says they have to stop Bowser once and for all. S.M.A.S.H. tells them they found this object called the Smash Ball a little while back, and they're testing it. It has the ability to open a portal, which could be used to unleash a Space Pirate army. They also say Dry Bowser wants it. Bowser arrives on the S.M.A.S.H. military base. He basically takes out most of S.M.A.S.H. and escapes with the Smash Ball. Eventually, Dry Bowser makes it to Brooklyn and orders the Koopas to activate the Smash Ball that will send the Space Pirates to Earth, but Mario intervenes and tries to fight Bowser, but it's too late. The Koopas activate the Smash Ball, and an entire Space Pirate armada comes out of the portal and proceeds to attack Brookyln.

A battle scene in Brooklyn

As Brooklyn is under an absolute state of siege, Mario angrily attacks Dry Bowser for what he's doing, but is defeated, but Link, Samus, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Yoshi arrive in Brooklyn and rescue Mario. Link orders Donkey Kong and Samus to defeat kill as many of the Space Pirates as possible and try to get the citizens out of Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi fight Dry Bowser, and Link will get the survivors out of the city. Donkey Kong starts attacking the Space Pirate Ships, Yoshi will be on the ground fighting, while Samus uses her new rocket boots on her power suit to attack forces coming from the portal. Mario and Luigi battle Dry Bowser, while Link tries to fight his way to find survivors. Eventually, the remaining S.M.A.S.H. forces make it to the scene and try to help the team, but a newly-upgraded cyborg Ridley comes out the portal and attacks S.M.A.S.H., Samus, and Donkey Kong. Link uses a S.M.A.S.H. ship and arrives to the battle, and tries to help the Mario Bros. Samus goes to the Smash. Ball to destroy it, but Dry Bowser stops her and Dry Bowser and Samus fight. Mario, Luigi, and Link join in and Dry Bowser surpisingly can easily fight back against Samus, the Mario Bros., AND Link ALL at the same time. Donkey Kong then hijacks an alien ship and uses it to help his friends. He use the ship's cannons to destroy the Smash Ball, closing the portal. The remaining alien ships and Mecha-Ridley are destroyed by the S.M.A.S.H. forces, and Brooklyn in enormous ruins, and thousands are dead. But, thankfully, the attack is over, and the rest of the Earth is saved, and Dry Bowser is locked in the Federation Police Maximum Security Jail. After a massive battle, the team decides to take a break from saving the world, and the Earth remains at peace.

In a post credits scene, It is revealed that this whole time, Dry Bowser was working for a much stronger force. His name is Tabuu. Tabuu is upset that Dry Bowser failed him, and tells his minions the time has come, hinting at a possible sequel.
