Plot[]
Plot Summary[]
In this alternate world, Superheroes are very common, with every major city on the planet having at least 60 heroes in it. This is because of the Powerborn Gene, which a single newborn once every year is born with, that gives the person extraordinary powers. Some decide to use their powers for good. Other decide to use them for bad. Besides them, there are also plenty of heroes and villains that have gotten powers through different means, or even don't have any powers at all. Our adventures follow two Powerborns: Captain Turbo, a formerly retired Superhero who has decided to return to the limelight, and his son Graviteen, who just recently joined his fathers crusade. Together they fight evil and encounter various different villains.
Episode 1[]
Something strange is happening in New York City. New villains are popping up all over the place without explination, and they're making a real mess of the city. The heroes of New York are now up to their necks in evildoers, either being common crooks with minor powers or full blown supervillains with unreal abilities. Knowing that the city could be in serious danger if this keeps on continuing, Captain Turbo and Graviteen set out to find out who is giving these crooks powers, tracing it all back to one man: Malcom Stronghelm.
Episodes 2-6[]
Episodes 2-6 all follow various different heroes and their adventures:
- Gravity of Our Sins: Graviteen, thanks to a crystal and a heist that went badly, gains a new doppleganger who calls himseld Guilloteen.
- Heritage of the Past: Tatsuo sets out to destroy the curse plauging his family and set himself and them free, along with his partner Showbiz.
- Speeding Bullet: Encountering his old friend Hoodlum, Captain Turbo is wrapped up in a gang war between his old arch-nemesis and The Kaijuza Leader.
- Holding out for a Friend: Tired of being called a loser, Drinktank teams up with Lead Lad to defeat a magical artist creating clones of other heroes.
- Phantom Detective: Melissa, a detective, and Felicia, a ghost, try to find the latter's killer, teaming up with Graviteen along the way.
Episode 7[]
In the game's finale, this time the entire planet is at risk. An alien known as Mon-Ki crashes onto Earth to warn them of an alien invasion, lead by a guy named Warvexxl. Preparing to take on the invasion, the heroes and the villains decide to make a temporary truce, except for Prometheus, who decides to aid the invaders. With time ticking down, who knows if our heroes will be enough to take down these threats...
Gameplay[]
The game is a 3D Arena Brawler where 2 characters battle each other head-to-head in a 1v1 battle. The arenas are small but spacious, with destructible environments and intractable items. Depending on who you are playing as, you can throw or jump off of objects to get the advantage.
The game's main mechanic sets it apart from most 3D Brawlers. Instead of health, hitting the opponent has them drop 2 or more orbs, red or blue depending on which player you are. The main goal of the game is to collect these orbs, and add them to your score. The player at the end of the match with the highest score wins. The best way to get orbs is to pummel them out of the opponents, but you can also get them from smashing objects in the stage or by performing long combo strings. A combo string of 10 hits or more will reward you with 10 extra orbs. Note that if you have orbs knocked out of yourself, if you are quick enough you can pick them back up.
Another mechanic is the Power Finale. This is a super move that deals a ton of damage and will automatically give you 20 orbs if you hit the opponent with it. You gain the Power Finale by building up a super meter by performing combo strings on the opponent. The higher the string is, the more the meter will fill up. Once the meter is full, you can unleash the Power Finale. However, the catch is you can only perform the Power Finale once per match. Once you use it, you can't use it again until the fight is over. So use this attack wisely and try not to miss!
There are other ways you can play the game if you want to shake it up:
- Basic Mode: The mechanic listed above where the player who collects the most orbs at the end wins.
- Rings Mode: Both fighters have 150 orbs at the beginning of the match. If you get hit too much and run out of orbs, you lose the match.
- Potato Mode: There is a single orb both players must attempt to hold on to. The one holding onto the orb at the end of the match is the winner.
- Old School Mode: Instead of collecting orbs, both players have a regular health bar and fight for 3 rounds. Deplete the health bar by attacking the opponent to win.
