Viva la Rose Warriors (intended to mean "Long Live the Rose Warriors"), originally known under the codename of VIVA, is an umbrella action role-playing game and the first instalment in the rebooted Rose Warriors series. The game combines a variety of different franchises and places them in a large scale story. Though not directly connected to the ⌭Saga, Viva la Rose Warriors does establish some pivotal elements that will appear in later entries to the Bola Parasola.
Viva la Rose Warriors is an action role-playing game. Players can create teams of up to four characters - their head character, and three NPC party members that act in conjunction with the player- though can switch which character they control in the midst of battle. Players can traverse the hub world of Mezameru, an abandoned and dilapidated city left in ruin and overrun by those who have found themselves without a homeworld. Battles are fought within the overworld, allowing for a fluid transition between exploration and fighting. Players can customize a character's skillset, by equipping up to four special moves that they can use at one time. Special moves, as well as three of the four default abilities, must recharge once used; which replaces the SP system several other RPGs have.
Every character and enemy's basic attacks are of one of six different elements, and every enemy and character has their own elemental strengths and weaknesses to such elements. Attacking an enemy's weakness can stagger them, temporarily lowering their defences for a short time. Characters may also resist or take no damage from certain elements. Once a character's weakness or resistance has been discovered (or, in the case of playable characters, once they join the Rose Warriors), it will appear on their profile, which can be viewed both in and out of battle. CPU party members will also reveal the effectiveness of attacks that they use on opponents.

In battle, every playable character can also have up to four abilities, or special attacks, equipped to them at a time, which also have their own elemental attribute and are assigned as "Standard" abilities (which are primarily melee-based attacks or physical weapons used as projectiles) or "Special" abilities (which are primarily magical in nature, or utilize a character's innate abilities). All characters learn 15 different abilities throughout the game, with them gaining one new one for every five levels they gain; upon learning a new ability, the player does not lose any of their previous ones. These abilities however are levelled up as they are used, increasing their power. Every ability reaches maximum strength at level 5, and many attacks gain the ability to inflict a status element to foes once their level is maxed out. Enemies also have their own selection of abilities, though they are not limited to only being able to use four in battles. Abilities have a short cooldown time, preventing them from being used repeatedly over a short time.
Both allies and enemies can inflict their opponents with certain status ailments. While some of these status ailments are stat reductions (such as temporarily lowering speed, attack, defence, etc.), most others inflict one of several different statuses that hinder fighters. These different ailments may last for varying duration times depending on the strength of the attack or resistances the afflicted may have.
If a party member or enemy has been inflicted with a status ailment, they will have an aura of the corresponding colour surround them; if afflicted with multiple status ailments, then the strongest afflicted ailment will take precedent. Additionally, the afflicted will have small icons of different colours placed next to their HP bar.
The status ailments that can be afflicted - excluding general stat reductions - are the following:

Poisoned - The afflicted takes minor damage every few seconds, even should they be standing still. Unlike other status ailments, a character can be inflicted with multiple poison effects at once, which increases the amount of damage they take.
Burned - All actions, excluding moving around, deal minor damage to the afflicted, and has a chance of stunning them once one is used.
Sleep - The afflicted falls asleep, and is left defenceless as they are unable to move or attack.
Null - All actions, excluding moving or normal attacks - are temporarily unusable.
Fatigued - All actions are slowed down, and the damage dealt by attacks is reduced.
Confused - The player's controls (or AI's abilities) are all mixed up for a limited time. Theose affected also have lowered defence.
Overloaded - All of the afflicted's melee-based attacks deal twice as much damage, but they also take recoil damage from all attacks. They are also unable to use Special-based skills.
Enchanted - All of the afflicted's projectile-based attacks deal twice as much damage, but they also take recoil damage from all attacks. They are also unable to use Standard-based skills.
In addition to every character having their own palette of abilities, there also exists a special gauge known as the Validity Gauge (or VG). This gauge fills up when damage is dealt, with the higher amount of damage dealt filling the gauge more than normal attacks. The VG depletes when the character is not attacking (such as when they are not partaking in battle, using support actions, defensive maneuvers, or items), and drains completely when the player switches between characters. Once the gauge is filled completely, the character goes into Overlight Mode, which increases the speed of their movements and also heavily decreases the time it takes for abilities to recharge. The Validity Gauge can also be used to summon Assist Characters (or AC's), who are characters whose souls remain complete but lack a physical form to inhabit. Summoning Assist Characters deplete a set amount of the VG, and, while they are active, all party members, aside from the one that summoned the AC (meaning the player), are unable to attack. These Assist Characters have their own signature abilities, which they will use before disappearing once more. AC's take the forms of crystals, which their souls inhabit, until they are summoned - they can be equipped as if pieces of armour outside of battles.

Subspace, a vast emptiness that exists between worlds, where those who have been torn from their worlds end up. Ruby Rose awakens here after her world has been destroyed and merged with the Nothing that binds the shattered dimensions together. She is unable to investigate her surroundings, as it isn't long after she wakes up that she comes across an winged boy being attacked by a giant purple dragon.
As previously stated, Viva la Rose Warriors is a part of the same multiverse in which the ⌭Saga is set: the Bola Parasola. Though the games do not directly impact each other, they do effect each other in several significant ways. Certain characters have the ability to cross between the barriers of the multiverse, while others may do so unintentionally. These characters and the events that unfold do enact a type of butterfly effect between the different series of the Bola Parasola.
Tome 57 and Viva la Rose Warriors are the first released games of their respective series, and impact each other more than they do other titles. For instance, it is heavily implied in Tome 57 that the Shadow Man nearly-destroyed entire universes, fragmenting them into segments, and Viva la Rose Warriors is implied to be the one such universe he attacked.

Ruby Rose
RWBY
Ruby Rose is a Huntress-in-training who studied at Beacon Academy prior to its destruction during The Battle of Beacon. Ruby's Semblance allows her to move at high speeds, leaving behind a trail of rose petals as she travels. She also wields a High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe of her own creation named the Crescent Rose; which is likely based on a similar scythe-like weapon wielded by her uncle Qrow Branwen. Ruby Rose can be considered the main protagonist of the game, as she is the founder and namesake of the Rose Warriors, and acts as their leader.
Pit is the captain of Palutena's Centurion army and one of her most-trusted servants. Though he has wings on his back and is an angel, Pit lacks the ability to fly on his own, instead relying on Palutena (or Viridi) to grant him the ability to fly for short periods of time. In battle, Pit wields the Palutena Bow, named after the Goddess of Light he serves; this bow is made up of two blades that can be detached and attached at will, allowing Pit to easily partake in both long-ranged and close-ranged combat. Pit is one of the six founding members of the Rose Warriors, and the first of them to join Ruby.
Toro Inoue is a humanoid cat who, along with his friend Kuro, participates in various activities in order to emulate being a human. Though his wish is to become a human, he does a very good job acting as one despite being a cat, even hosting his own news program. Toro is also a very capable fighter who is capable of emulating the fighting styles of some of the universes' best warriors - he is an exceptional close-ranged combatant who has even been able to mimic the legendary Ryu's take on the Ansatsuken style of martial art. He is one of the six founding members of the Rose Warriors.
Mario is an Italian plumber living in the magical Mushroom Kingdom. Though just an ordinary human in this strange world, Mario (and his younger brother Luigi) is often tasked with rescuing the kingdom's ruler, Princess Peach, from the tyrannical King of the Koopas, Bowser. Mario's a courageous man who will always do what's right - even if it means working with his enemies to do so - and tries to always maintain a positive attitude. He can utilize the various power-ups that exist within the Mushroom Kingdom in order to grant him new powers, though seems to have gained some sort of pyrokinesis from his constant use of the Fire Flower. He is one of the six founding members of the Rose Warriors.
Toriko is one of the Four Heavenly Kings, who travels the world during the Gourmet Age. Toriko wishes to create the best possible Full Course Menu, and searches for the most interesting ingredients with incredible flavours to complete this goal. One such ingredient is GOD, the rarest food, considered the greatest in history, that managed to end the 100-year Gourmet War after the Gourmet God Acacia introduced it to the world. Toriko works with Komatsu, a young and timid chef who has a love of cooking and learning about how to bring out a food's best qualities in a dish. This chef's shy personality perfectly contrasts Toriko's loud and enthusiastic nature. Toriko is a talented melee warrior, utilizing his immense superhuman strength (powered by the many dishes he consumes) to easily take down the various dangerous creatures he wishes to taste, or utilize the art of Knocking to stun those he wishes not to.
Yuki Kusakabe is a Demi-Human, a human with a genetic mutation that gives them the traits of some mythical creatures; in particular, she is a Snow Woman. Though the Snow Women in myths have full control over ice and can use it to harm others, Yuki did not have this trait until she came in contact with the Nothing, which granted her these abilities. She is a rather bubbly person, though she fears her powers and as such tries to avoid people as to not bring harm to them accidentally.
Yuki can be recruited once the third quest she gives - "A Winter Wonderland" - is completed, which involves the player having to protect Jack Frost as he travels through the Nothing to train Yuki in using her powers.
Arthur, or "The Giant", is a character that was discovered by Abigail "Misty" Briarton, Marlton Johnson, Samuel J. Stulingher, and Russman - a group known as "Victis" - in the remains of a buried old western town located in the Republic of Angola in the year 2035. Prior to being locked in the prison of this long-abandoned town, Arthur was a loyal servant to the Wolf King, a king that built Griffin Castle in Austria; who was trapped in a time displacement and thrown from the year 1318 to 2035. Arthur attacks foes with slow, clumsy swipe attacks, barrelling into his foes while spinning his arms in various directions. After swiping at his foes several times, he will finish by harnessing the power of the Wolf Bow and fire a wolf-shaped energy bolt.

Somlum is a young girl who lives in solitary confinement, with only an old man as an [unwanted] acquaintance. Those she doesn't appear directly to the Rose Warriors, she appears in cutscenes, writing the events that had previously transpired in the game.

Rose Warriors
"The Old Man" is a character who is not seen throughout Rose Warriors, and is only referred to as such by Solum. Only Solum and Igor know of this man's appearance, though only the latter knows his true identity. Though he does not appear, he does have a major role in the story, with Solum's goal being to discover his true identity and the answer to the riddles he gives her.

Persona
Igor is the servant of Philemon, and a powerful being in his own right. Igor initially appears to a single character in a secluded space in reality known as the Velvet Room, alongside his two assistants Caroline and Justine, before he is forced to move his operations to Mezameru. For a fee, Igor will assist characters in learning new skills by pulling them out of the deepest recesses of their hearts.

Persona
Caroline and Justine are the form Lavenza takes when she is severed and spliced apart by the Nothing's influence on her. These two twins assist Igor as the attendants of the Velvet Room, and are also capable of aiding the Rose Warriors after being forced to take up residence in Mezameru.

Persona
Jack Frost is a demon of ice who, much as his appearance suggests, is of a playful nature. Though he has powerful ice-related skills and wishes to assist the Rose Warriors in various ways, he is incapable of leaving Mezameru due to being a Tethered. He serves mainly as the clumsy assistant to those who remain in Mezameru, and his playful nature is sometimes played for comedic effect to break up the story.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Milo Thatch is an expert cartographer and linguist who wishes to rediscover the lost continent of Atlantis. Milo is the first person to be met at Mezameru, and leads the charge in creating a camp for all those who find themselves lost here.

Pom Gets Wi-Fi
Pom is a small Pomeranian with an insatiable love of the internet, and will do anything, even kill Dog, in order to have a secure connection to it. She is a Tethered who remains in Mezameru, and assists the Rose Warriors by telling them "what she sees on social networks" (i.e. information relating to new rifts within the Nothing and what they may contain).

Star Wars
Jar Jar Binks is a Gungan warrior hailing from the planet Naboo, and one of the planet's representatives in the Galactic Senate. Though he is a Severed, Jar Jar helps clean up the area of Mezameru to make it a habitable civilization, essentially acting as Milo's right-hand man.

Kanon
Ayu Tsukimiya, though she appears to be much younger, is a seventeen year-old girl with a childish personality and a love for taiyaki. Known for her catchphrase of "ugū", which she often says when distressed, Ayu is a clumsy individual whose spirit has left her mortal body. Though Ayu is technically a spirit, she is still able to make contact with other people or items, so many people mistake her for being a normal person. Because she technically lacks a physical form, Ayu is a Severed, and travels to Mezameru after she is saved by the Rose Warriors.
Maho Hiyajo

Before finding herself in Mezameru, Maho Hiyajo was the one of the researchers that studied in the Institute of Neuroscience at Victor Chondria University; she did so alongside her younger associate Kurisu Makise. While she is courageous, she lacks physical strength. Despite this, she still assists the Rose Warriors by studying the Nothing and how it can effect others. She works alongside Heloise and Lin Lee Koo some of the time, as they all study the Nothing, though she prefers to stick with what she knows - the human brain - and as such primarily works alone, investigating what prolonged exposure to the Nothing could do to the human psyche.

Heloise is a young girl with a highly destructive nature, and as such works for Lucius Heinous VII as the head of research and development at Misery, Inc., creating a variety of destructive gadgets with the intent of keeping the inhabitants of Miseryville miserable. Heloise aids the Rose Warriors by studying the Nothing alongside Lin Lee Koo; the two work to try and figure out if there is a way to harness the substance to use in combat without becoming fully corrupted.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Lin Lee Koo is a prodigal genius, and one of the most-knowledgeable engineers when it comes to the giant combat mechs used to travel through space known as Skells. Fiercely proud in her engineering talents, Lin works with Heloise in trying to harness the Nothing to create weaponry or other gadgets without being corrupted by its energy.

Lala Satalin Deviluke is the heir to the throne of Planet Deviluke, and one of its three princesses. Though air-headed and of a childlike nature, Lala is actually one of the most intelligent people in the galaxy, and is known to create a variety of gadgets (many of which for extremely unusual purposes) that often malfunction in certain ways. She initially wishes to help Heloise and Lin Lee Koo research the Nothing, though they instead get her to act as an unsuspecting guinea pig after she messes up their experiments.

Nana Astar Deviluke is one of the three princesses of the Planet Deviluke; she is the younger sister of Lala Satalin Deviluke, and the (elder) twin sister of Momo Belia Deviluke. She is a tomboyish, impatient, and brash individual who is actually quite caring and friendly; this extends to animals as well, as she is the only Deviluke capable of speaking and understanding animals. She lives in Mezameru, saying that she'll keep an eye on her older sister to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid. She is one of the few confirmed Severed NPCs; she chooses to stay in Mezameru until she is able to find out how to return to Deviluke.

Shizu Murasame, more commonly referred to as Oshizu, is a ghost that once lived in an abandoned schoolhouse that was destroyed. Left without a home, she was welcomed to live in Ryouko Mikado's high school clinic, where she was given an artificial body to posses. Having lived in a clinic, Oshizu has some knowledge of medicines, which she uses to treat the Rose Warriors when they return to Mezameru. Oshizu is a Severed NPC, and is initially met in the Afterlife School.

Pepsi
Pepsiman is a rather comedic character that plays little role in the overall story. The self-proclaimed god of soft drinks, Pepsiman has been enhanced by the Nothing located in-between worlds to make him near indestructible, and as such is a Severed. Using the Nothing, Pepsiman can spawn cans of Pepsi from nowhere, which he forces others to drink in an obsessive matter. His cans of Pepsi do heal characters when they drink it.

Weiss Schnee the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, and a student from Beacon Academy. A member of Team RWBY, and the partner of its namesake, she can be described as a princess due to her attitude and status, though she genuinely cares for her friends. She is recovered from Subspace by Lyndsay, and has entered a coma due to prolonged exposure to the Nothing, which she remains in for a majority of the game.

Little Busters!
Kyousuke Natsume is the founder of the Little Busters, a group of childhood friends that would eventually become a close team of baseball playing students. Though a seemingly normal high schooler, Kyousuke harbours some sort of supernatural power, and seems to have a limited amount of omnipotence; knowing almost everything that goes on, even should he not experience it himself. He doesn't aid the Rose Warriors per se, though he claims to act in their best interests; he primarily wants to make sure that his sister Rin and his friend Riki Naoe are safe. Kyousuke is one of the few characters not living in Mezameru confirmed to be a Severed, and is first met in the Afterlife School.

Professor Juniper is a researcher dedicated to learning about the origins of Pokémon and how they undergo evolution. She does possess remarkable intellect, her brain essentially being a library of all known facts and theories related to her work. A confirmed Severed NPC, Professor Juniper travels through the different worlds to continue her research, and to try and uncover a reason for the sudden occurrence of the circumstances surrounding them.

Argo is a business-oriented woman and one of the 10,000 people who were once trapped within the virtual reality game of Sword Art Online. Easily identified by the whiskers she has drawn on her face, Argo will do anything to earn money, including apparently selling her own grandmother, and primarily does so by selling bits of information to others. She works as Professor Juniper's bodyguard of sorts, agreeing to travel between worlds with her in order to add more stock to her inventory of knowledge; she'll sell out hints and other rare treasures she finds to those who approach her.

Clippit "Clippy" was an AI assistant based in the Microsoft Office program from the early 2000's until it was removed from Office 2007. Despite Clippy's small size, he attacks the Rose Warriors with text boxes of various sizes; the larger dealing more damage. Though larger text boxes take longer to be summoned, Clippy can spawn smaller ones at a rapid pace.

Giant Enemy Crab

The Giant Enemy Crab is a large crustacean foe that comes from Sony's E3 press conference from 2006. Its shell is large and durable, meaning you must attack its weak point for massive damage. According to Bill Ritch, the Giant Enemy Crab was fought by Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Musashibo Benkei, Shizuka Gozen, and Lord Buson in ancient Japan.

Guardian
The Legend of Zelda
Guardians are large octopus-like robots created by the Sheikah clan more than 10,000 prior to the Great Calamity that destroyed Hyrule. These Guardians, as they were designed to protect Hyrule, have high mobility and are capable of firing extremely powerful lasers from their eye- which is their weak point; attacking their eye with projectile attacks will deal more damage than anywhere else on their body. They resist most forms of attack, though they are unable to completely nullify any specific element.

Moblin

Moblins are tall and lanky goblin-like beings that were created by Ganon's dark magic. In regards to other creatures their size, they are fairly slow, but their long legs allow them to stride at a faster speed than those smaller than them can walk. They mainly attack with clubs, but can also sometimes wield bows and arrows. In addition to being red, stronger variations of Moblins can also come in blue, black, silver, and gold colorations.

Stone Talus
The Legend of Zelda
Stone Taluses are giant creatures made up of a number of large stones. They appear to be a number of large separated rocks that come together when a warrior comes near them. Though they are very slow creatures who can be dealt with easily with projectile skills, they will not hesitate to throw one of the stones that make up its arms in order to try and take out a faraway foe, before slamming their fist into the ground to add a new stone to its arm. The crystal on its back acts as its weak spot, with most attacks dealing very little damage elsewhere.

A Hinox is a large creature that appears related to the Moblin family. Likely created by Ganon's magic, these giant cyclopes will be in asleep until awoken by the sound of travellers nearby. They are incredibly slow, but will not hesitate to throw its weight around by body slamming the ground in an attempt to crush their foes; they may also pluck nearby trees to use as clubs. Its eye is its weak point, though when low on health it will cover it and begin attacking blindly. Much like Moblins, stronger variants can come in blue and black colorations.

Shadow Beasts are beings from the Twilight Realm that have been corrupted by Ganon's dark magic. They are only able to survive within Twilight-covered areas, though defeating all Shadow Beasts within such an area will rid it of the Twilight that corrupts and strengthens foes. Stronger variants exist that have two long horizontal horns protruding from the tops of their skulls and a plate with a helix-like design on it.

The Sumo Bro. is a large, heavier, subspecies of the Hammer Bro., one of the more uncommon members of the Koopa Troop. Like their skinnier counterparts, the Sumo Bro. has a habit of throwing hammers, usually in large arcs. What makes them extra deadly, however, is the fact that they can use their weight to create small tremors when they jump, which has a chance to stagger those in the vicinity.

A Jelly is a gelatinous creature that can be found around Dokapon Kingdom. It is a relatively weak enemy, that primarily has a variety of slow physical attacks with little range. It can release a gas that poisons those that inhale it, and several of its other abilities inflict various other status ailments. They can often be found alongside other enemies, and act as their support.

The Shy Bandit
Super Mario
The Shy Bandit is a recurring midboss character who makes various appearances throughout the game. Some of his boss fights are optional, though there are others that are mandatory. The Shy Bandit aims to steal treasure from the Rose Warriors, and can summon other Paper enemies to assist him in battle. Though the Shy Bandit is actually one of the smarter Mario characters, he's clumsy, and his appearances are often used for a comedic effect. He has a deep, but unexplained, rivalry with Pepsiman.

Ridley is a purple dragon-like creature and the leader of the Space Pirates. Contrary to his appearance, Ridley is actually a fairly intelligent foe with great influence across the galaxy. Ridley only has a minor role in the game, acting as the enemy in the game's tutorial; he is fought and killed relatively easily by Ruby Rose and Pit when they first meet in Subspace. Though he is capable of flight, in battle he primarily hovers slightly above the ground in order to better target his foes.

Char Gar Gothakon, "The Beast with No Name", is a creature included in a series of literary works written by H.P. Hatecraft within the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated canon. Char Gar Gothakon is reportedly a demon from another dimension, who has an octopus-like face and wears a sort of black robe with long pointed shoulder pads. Char Gar Gothakon is fought upon first reaching Mezameru.

All worlds are populated by characters known as Tethereds, who are unable to cross through the Nothing and as such are stranded in whatever world they find themselves. Some worlds may also be populated by Severeds, characters who, like most major characters in the game, are capable of travelling through the Nothing but decide not to. It is not revealed which characters are Severeds, though some characters drop hints regarding this matter.

Subspace
Super Smash Bros.
Subspace is a realm of distortion that lurks on the other side of reality. Presumably ruled over by a large deity named Tabuu, it is the origin of the Shadow Bugs that can take any form, and is where any location destroyed by a Subspace Bomb will be thrown to. Subspace lurks in-between the Nothing surrounding worlds, and those with no place to be tethered may eventually end up here. This is where the game begins and where Ruby, Pit, Toro, Mario, Toriko, and Rin all meet for the first time.
Unlike other locations, no characters really 'inhabit' Subspace, and it can not be re-visited once Mezameru is discovered. Lyndsay does act as a guide though, and explores Subspace in an attempt to find those that may have been thrown there and navigates them to Mezameru.

Mezameru is an abandoned and ruined city located in the heart of the Nothing. It serves as a hub world for the game, and is slowly built up over the story. The Rose Warriors use this city as their headquarters, and the allies that join to aid them primarily work from here too. At the beginning of the game, only the main plaza can be explored, but various shops - such as a weapons store operated by Maho and a clinic operated by Oshizu - pop up as the Rose Warriors explore other worlds.

The Afterlife School is, as its name suggests, a school located in the Afterlife. It was created by someone known only as The Programmer, who created this world as a means to give those who died young and had unhappy lives a chance to relive their adolescence and be reborn when they've accomplished all they had wanted to in life.
The Afterlife School, while being directly from Angel Beats!, acts as the main world for all Key-related series (including the aforementioned Angel Beats!, Charlotte, Little Busters!, Clannad, etc.). Influence is also taken from these other titles; most specifically, the underground path to The Guild normally located beneath the school has been transformed into a complex of corridors inhabited seen beneath the main setting of Little Busters!.

Achievement City is a world created by Achievement Hunter in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and expanded upon in Minecraft: Xbox One Edition after its release. The world contains a mishmash of different minigames thought up by Geoff Ramsey and the other Achievement Hunter members, though the main civilization is the titular Achievement City, where all members of Achievement Hunter have their houses.

The Fairly OddParents
Thunder World is a large pink planet discovered by Turbo Thunder (Pippy Dinglefitz), who would build the planet's sole man-made structure: Thunder World, a large amusement park with two large T-shaped skyscrapers at its centre. Turbo Thunder discovered this planet after his home of Wonder World was destroyed by The Darkness after that planet's super-powered inhabitants prematurely attacked it. It was because of his building of Thunder World that Turbo Thunder slept through The Darkness' initial appearance and missed his chance at becoming "The Chosen One".
While it originates from The Fairly OddParents' TV film "Wishology", Thunder World serves as a hub world of sorts for several series created by Butch Hartman. The location features characters from all of The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, and T.U.F.F. Puppy.
