Ivysaur is one of the few returning characters in Super Smash Bros. Calamity, returning from Super Smash Bros. Brawl (albeit no longer with Pokémon Trainer, just like Squirtle in this game and Charizard in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U).

Changes[]

Notice As stated above, Ivysaur is no longer with Pokémon Trainer.

Notice Ivysaur's moveset has been changed, mostly its Pokémon Change move has been removed as, stated above twice, Pokémon Trainer is no longer with Ivysaur.

Buff Ivysaur can now tether recover with its grab.

Special attacks
Attack Name Description Damage
Neutral special Synthesis/Hyper Beam Synthesis involves Ivysaur storing solar energy to heal and charge up Solar Beam. Can be roll cancelled to keep the charge, though even when hit and when dying it keeps the charge. When fully charged, pressing the special button will make it fire a beam of solar energy diagonally upwards from its bulb, dealing high knockback. Fully charges when at least 22% or more of damage is healed from the charge or its bulb/pummel attacks. 0% (charge), 25% (Solar Beam)
Side special Bullet Seed / Take Down On the ground, Ivysaur will do Bullet Seed, which involves in it fires seeds forward with its bulb. The seeds hit rapidly and can last up to 1-5 seconds, but can rack up high damage, but with little to no knockback.
In the air, Ivysaur will do Take Down, which involves in it dashing a short distance forward. If ir makes contact with an opponent, they will be launched far, but it doesn't deal much damage, and also take some recoil.
5% ~ 25% (Bullet Seed), 7% (Take Down), 9% (Take Down recoil)
Up special Vine Whip Ivysaur uses one of its vines to grab onto a ledge as a tether recovery. When it doesn't latch onto a ledge, Ivysaur will fling its vine diagonally upwards and hit any opponent near it, dealing low base knockback. 5%
Down special Stun Spores Ivysaur releases multiple spores around it, stunning opponents as well as damaging them, setting them up for a potential combo. Has a fifteen second cooldown. 4%
Final Smash Sunny Day Ivysaur summons strong sunlight, restoring most of its damage and giving it three SolarBeam charges. 0%
66% (recover)
