A Tail of Spellbound Mishaps!

Tuesday 27th October[]

Deep within the bowels of the earth lies a dark and evil society. Those who enter are forbidden from leaving, left to rot away in an infernal chamber of torture. That is, until one unfortunate soul's quest to depart from the realm leads her through a perilous adventure frought with terror and deceit.
A trailer begins showing a ruined city under a red stormy sky. Streaks of red lightning fire across the dark clouds, illuminating a figure running through the city through the rain. She is a dark grey, imp-like creature with small red wings and a long tail, and goes by the name of Clove. She is holding an orange glowing key in her hand. Suddenly, she trips and falls onto the ground. The camera pans out, showing a ravenous-looking hound, with rough black fur and blood dripping from its mouth bounding towards her. It snarls as Clove struggles to get away.
Inferno Hellhound
Hellhound
It's time for you to learn your lesson. No one leaves this place!
The hellhound bounds towards Clove, fangs bared, and Clove braces herself for the worst, but a blinding flash of light erupts out of the key clutched in her hand. Intimidated by this light, the hellhound backs away, but continues to snarl at Clove.
Inferno Remul
Remul
Ah, finally. I was waiting for someone to wake me from my slumber.
A blue djinn emerges from the key, yawning and stretching his spectral limbs. He glances at the growling hellhound.
Inferno Remul
Remul
Good morning, you must be the kind soul who awoke me? Thank you very much -
Inferno Hellhound
Hellhound
Get out of my way!
The hellhound lunges at the djinn, whose name is Remul, and attempts to bite him, but is simply thrown back as Remul strikes the ground, causing pillars of light to thrust the hellhound into the air.
Inferno Remul
Remul
Such rude behaviour. Ah, you must be who summoned me?
Remul notices Clove, shaking in fear on the ground. She is lost for words and nods meekly.
Inferno Remul
Remul
Thank you for your kindness, from the bottom of my heart. Hold on, I don't have a heart...
Echoes Clove
Clove
What - I mean, who are you?
Inferno Remul
Remul
My name is Remulus Mardanshaw, Earl of Euxoslen. But please, just call me Remul. You know, we have a lot in common, you and I. Neither of us belong here.
Echoes Clove
Clove
You too? I thought I was the only one who wasn't destined to rot away here.
Inferno Remul
Remul
Absolutely true! Now that you have awoken me, we shall be able to work together and escape this place! What do you say? I will help you locate the One Hundred Keys, letting you depart through the Heavenly Gateway, and in return, you shall take me with me to paradise.
Remul outstretches a phantasmal hand, and Clove tentatively leans in to grasp it. Instead of passing through it, however, she grips it firmly, and a yellow light illuminates from their connected hands.
Echoes Clove
Clove
It's a deal. We'll get out of this place.
The camera pans up into the stormy sky, as a logo appears in its place.

Coming 2021

Inferno is a 3D platforming and beat-em-up adventure that takes place in the Scorch Valley, an infernal underworld where evil spirits arrive after they die. The story features Clove, who finds herself trapped within a hellish realm in the form of an Imstrel - a half-bat, half-demon creature - after she dies during a tragic accident. Being an obedient and hardworking schoolgirl before her death, Clove cannot understand why she has ended up in Scorch Valley, a dystopia where the cruellest and most evil souls are sent to live out their afterlives.

After coming to terms with her sentence, Clove discovers Remul, a spirit who, like her, was bound to dwell in hell forever, despite being good-hearted. Using her own adventuring spirit and Remul's extensive knowledge of the underworld, she teams up with the spirit to liberate themselves to a blissful afterlife through the Heavenly Gateway. To do this, she will need to collect One Hundred Keys and bypass hell's security forces.

More details about Inferno will be released in due course. I plan to release the game in 2021, so stay on the lookout for more announcements!

Fruit Punch 2 Logo New

Now time for something I've teased off in the past. Fruit Punch: Sugar Rush, the long awaited sequel to Fruit Punch, will be coming to Nymbus systems just in time for the holiday season. Previously the release date for this project was set for July 2020, but due to a lack of motivation I've pushed the project back to autumn to allow for it to be as high-quality as possible. Now I've been working on the project for a few months, I think it's time to share a few more details about it.

As I've already mentioned, Fruit Punch: Sugar Rush is the sequel to 2018's Fruit Punch and focuses more on open-world 2D platforming, with 12 different worlds for Punch and his friends to explore and collect Chocolate Chips within. Think of it like Super Mario 64 as a Metroidvania, with expansive 2D platforming environments and specific missions contained in each area.

The story follows Punch, Cordia and their friends travelling to the Candy Kingdom, after being invited to spend their vacation there by the region's monarch, King Toothache. While here, they meet new friends, Cocoa and Rocko, and learn that the kingdom isn't as sweet as it's made out to be - according to them, King Toothache is planning to gather the Chocolate Chips to build a weapon and conquer the world!

The game includes many new features not present in Fruit Punch, many of which we don't have time to discuss today, but I'd first like to announce that Punch and his friends will be able to use Power-Ups for the first time ever! By locating special sugary treats called Shining Candy, Punch and his friends can transform into different forms and gain new abilities:

  • The Shining Gobstopper allows Punch to transform into Gobstopper Punch. In this form, Punch is able to roll around and crush enemies in his way. Additionally, his greatly increased weight in this form allows him to trigger things like weighted platforms and switches that wouldn't normally work.
  • The Shining Gummy transforms Punch into Gummy Punch and lets him slide around, letting him reach astonishing speeds. Furthermore, his squishy body allows him to squeeze into tight areas that would normally be too small for him to get through!
  • The Shining Pops allow Punch to transform into Popping Punch! In this state, Punch can fire off pieces of popping candy at his foes, which explode into fragments of fire. This ability can be used to burn down flammable structures or melt snow and ice, letting Punch reach normally inaccessible places.

Of course, there are many more to come. The game also lets you play as Cordia, who has access to the same power-ups, becoming Gummy Cordia or Popping Cordia, etc. Additionally, Punch and Cordia can play together at the same time via local wireless multiplayer! Of course, this would normally make the game easier, so enemies have buffed up health while playing with both Punch and Cordia.

With a brand new theme, Fruit Punch: Sugar Rush features a wide variety of enemies not featured in the first game, including:

  • The Mintmouth, a distant cousin of the voracious Melonmouth that packs a punch with its strong bite!
  • The Sourbomb, a relative of the Bombato that is prone to exploding, leaving a patch of sour acid in its wake!
  • The Strangeshroom, a variant of Blushroomthat fires psychedelic spores!
  • The Grizzlygum, a strong and ferocious gummy bear found in caves and mountains. They're very difficult to defeat!
  • The Fizzworm, burrowing foes that are easy to defeat, but swarm in huge numbers!

And of course, Punch's latest adventure wouldn't be complete without his many friends and companions that will assist him on his quest! Familiar faces will be returning from Fruit Punch, namely Cordia, Kiwi, Citria, Flanna and Peanut. However, those aren't the only friends Punch will be making on this quest.

FP2 Cocoa

Cocoa is a resident of Candy Kingdom who will be helping Punch navigate her homeland. Cocoa is an outgoing girl with a passion for adventure, and quite possibly, a passion for Punch as well! She will be a playable character, helping Punch and his friends on their quest.

FP2 Rocko

We also have Rocko, who is the younger brother of Cocoa. Rocko is quite timid but helpful towards his friends, and while he isn't a playable character, he will do his best to help the heroes by providing an optional guide through certain levels, while also giving them checkpoints as they advance.

FP2 Toothache

The last new character I have to show today is King Toothache, the proud and majesterial ruler of the Candy Kingdom. Toothache has invited Punch and his friends to the Candy Kingdom to show off its bountiful landscape, however according to Cocoa and Rocko, King Toothache isn't as generous as he first seems, and has a dark and sinister plan involving the kingdom's thousands of Chocolate Chips.

As previously mentioned, Fruit Punch: Sugar Rush will release on December 15th 2020. Until then, we hope you look forward to further updates about the game! More will be revealed soon!

Thursday 29th October[]

The screen fades in from black, introducing a luxurious manor, dimly lit under the moonlight. Pit, Bayonetta, Scorpion, Excitebiker, Bisharp and several others are guarding the building from all angles.

Pit: Look out!

As Pit calls out, several of the guarding force notice a motorcycle in the distance, accelerating towards the front gates of the manor. Bayonetta pulls out her guns, with Scorpion prepares a fistful of fire and Bisharp arms their blades. The motorcycle bursts through the gates, knocking Excitebiker into the pool beside it. Under the night sky, a dark figure is barely seen dismounting the motorbike and walking up to the trio guarding the doors: Bayonetta, Scorpion and Bisharp. As Scorpion and Bisharp rush forwards, they're instantly blasted off into the sky by a lightning-fast attack from the figure.

Bayonetta: Playing dirty, are we?
???: Help me out here. I've got an invitation.
Bayonetta: We'll see about that.

Bayonetta prepares to fire at the figure, but her guns are instantly flung aside as the figure draws a shining light sword and poises to strike Bayonetta with it. Suddenly, Pit appears behind the figure for a surprise attack, but the figure already notices, and performs a swing attack with their blade, knocking down both Pit and Bayonetta in the process. They then open the door that Bayonetta was guarding, and their identity is revealed as a bright light from inside illuminates their figure.

Travis: It's game time!
PSSB Travis Reveal Art

The trailer cuts to gameplay footage, showing Travis Touchdown entering the battle. Many of his moves involve the use of his Beam Katana, which he is seen using for a recovery, similar to Link's, for heavy damage. He is also seen using his Side Special, Beat Attack, against Ganondorf and Cloud on a brand new stage, the Motel. Furthermore, he shows his Final Smash, the Glastonbury, where he equips a Mecha and fires a barrage of tri-laser attacks before performing Anarchy in the Galaxy, an extremely powerful laser blast, which fades into the Puddle's Super Smash Bros. logo.

Friday 30th October[]

Hey y'all. Apologies in advance if this part of the showcase feels rushed! I originally had different plans, but due to being busy and UCP being a bitch I decided to change them. Also, before I start, I want to give a huge thanks to Scarlet for helping me out with the starter Pokémon concepts! Anyway, enjoy!
File:Pokémon Flame Logo.pngFile:Pokémon Frost Logo.png

That's right, I'm pleased to announce that I will soon be beginning work on a brand new pair of Pokémon games, Pokémon Flame and Pokémon Frost! These titles have been in development for a very long time, as early as July 2019 to be precise, and after several months of inactivity, attempts to work on them through early 2020 proved unsuccessful. But now I'm pleased to announce that I will once again be kickstarting work on this project in the new year!

Flame and Frost are the new paired games of Generation IX, taking place in the diverse and open Palma region, a subtropical archipelago not unlike the Alola region. However, unlike Alola, the Palma region is very interconnected, with bridges, caves and expanses of sea connecting the region's hundreds of islands. Located south of Hoenn, Palma is quite well-connected with the rest of the Pokémon world, and has a Gym League and Elite Four in line with most other regions. The region has a number of inspirations, but the largest one is the Canary Islands. However, the various islands also draw significant influence from other real-world locations, such as Mexico, Cyprus, Florida and Tanzania.

The region is exceptionally famous for its wide variety of environments, and attracts many tourists, that enjoy taking part in activities such as:

  • Forest Hiking - Accompanied by their Pokémon, trainers can work together in groups take on one of the region's five forests. Each one varies in difficulty, but also varies in rewards. The tougher forests contain rare treasures and Pokémon, but may also feature battles against powerful trainers on the way!
  • Water Gliding - The high seas of Palma are calm and brimming with wildlife. While water gliding, trainers can work in groups to access remote islets where treasure awaits. Some islets may feature strong Pokémon, while others might have treasures and relics from other regions! Pokémon that practise Water Gliding may also develop their stats!
  • Beach Contests - A popular seaside entertainment on Palma's coasts, Beach Contests helps trainers build stronger bonds with their Pokémon. There are five theatres across the region, each one helping a trainer's Pokémon to develop a certain contest style, be it Coolness, Toughness, Cleverness, Cuteness or Beauty!
  • Hot Spas - Palma has 2 spas, the Soothing Springs Spa and the Sizzling Sand Spa. Each one is certain to make a Pokémon closer to its trainer. At the Soothing Springs Spa, a Pokémon's friendship level will increase, while at the Sizzling Sand Spa, you can play with your Pokémon to increase its affection!

Trainers can participate in these activities with friends from across the globe, and work together to reap the same rewards, be it rare treasures, enchancements to their Pokémon, or even shiny and legendary Pokémon!

Now of course, one of the most important features of any Pokémon region is the new Pokémon found within. I have several of these to share with you today, being the starter Pokémon that Professor Joshua will present at the start of your adventure:

FLFR Arfern
ARFERN
Arfern, the Pup Pokémon, is the Grass-type starter available to new trainers in the Palma region. Their happy personalities make them a popular choice not only for first partners for new trainers, but also as pets for young children. Often they are hyperactive, generating solar energy in its tail based on how much it runs during the day.

While levelling up, Arfern can learn its signature move, Fern Rush, which boosts its speed by 2 stages. However, during harsh sunlight, the effect of this move is tripled, maximising Arfern's speed in one turn!

FLFR Pelamb
PELAMB
Pelamb, the Combustion Pokémon, is the Palma region's Fire-type starter. Despite often acting lazy and aimless, Pelamb are very determined Pokémon when it comes to training. As they move around, they drop clumps of wool, which are known to ignite very easily. These wool balls are collected as fuel by explorers in Palma's wilderness.

Pelamb is able to learn a signature move by levelling up. This move is Wool Guard, where Pelamb shares its wool with a target to raise their defense. However, doing so gives the target a weakness to Fire-type attacks!

FLFR Glipple
GLIPPLE
And finally, Glipple, the Bubble Pokémon, and the Palma region's Water-type starter. Despite their cute appearance, Glipple are very protective of their trainers and use water bubbles to fight. They're very fond of blowing water bubbles and playing with them, and certain chemicals in their water bubbles have healing properties.

Glipple can learn an exclusive move, Bubble Blast, by levelling up. When used on an ally, Bubble Blast will heal them by 50% of their maximum HP. However, when used on an enemy, it will deal damage.

Those are the only new Pokémon I have to show off today, but hopefully you'll look forward to seeing some more information about these games! Once game development is in full swing, I'll be releasing several Pokémon species each week on the Fantendo Discord Server, so stop on by if you haven't already for early exclusive access to upcoming designs! Stay tuned for more about Pokémon Flame and Frost, as it will be releasing soon in 2021!

Draco Duel 2 Logo

Happy Halloween everyone, and welcome to the next part of my showcase. I'd say it's about time to talk about the next set of downloadable content for Draco Duel 2. I've had a pleasure working on these two characters, so I hope you enjoy them!

First of all, we have Quialadra, the Beauty of the Skies! Originating in a far off region, many miles from Arcania, Quialadra came to Arcania to participate in the Duel League, after hearing that her famous rival, Qezalt, was doing successfully in the league. Quialadra takes great pride in her beautiful appearance and attempts to battle both gracefully and powerfully. This can be seen in her strongly aesthetically-focused attacks, which combine colorful effects with a powerful punch. Her speed and mobility are top-notch, and her regeneration is quite good, although she's let down by her sub-par defences. Quialadra's attacks incorporate a unique mechanic, Glamour, which rewards Quialadra with a morale boost (essentially upping her attack strength and speed) by using a variation of different moves for a beautiful effect. She tries not to use the same moves repeatedly, as it may cause a boring show! Quialadra's home stage is The Fire Festival, a cultural festival that takes place in the streets of Arcania City.

Quialadra DD2Quialadra Dragon DD2

Next up is Uktrag, the Triassic Terror. I felt that a dinosaur-Draconid was an inevitability, so I have tried my hardest to make Uktrag feel as prehistoric as possible. Uktrag is the result of an attempted fossil ressurection by Arcanian scientists, who upon combining Draconid and dinosaur fossils, created a hybrid who was much stronger than anticipated and destroyed their laboratory. Originating from 500 million years ago, Uktrag is unable to communicate with other fighters, but is insanely strong. His physical prowess is unmatched, using a combination of close-range and rock-based projectiles, and his defences are pretty strong as well, however his speed and mobility are appalling. Uktrag's home stage is the Granite Cliffs, a coastal region in southwest Arcania known for holding many fossils.

Uktrag DD2Uktrag Dragon DD2

And of course, DLC Pack 3 wouldn't be complete without other content. The pass also includes several other goodies including:

DD2 DLC Pack 3
  • Not two, but FOUR brand new Arenas! In addition to The Fire Festival and Granite Cliffs (the home stages of Quialadra and Uktrag respectively), DLC Pack 3 will feature the release of 2 Arenas only previously accessible in A Rift in Time, those being Hexagon Hive and Destroyed Arcania City. Of course, these are improved versions of the simplified stages seen in Story Mode, and will feature more details and features in the final release.
  • A new alternate costume for every character in the game. For this update, each character will receive an Autumnal alternate color scheme!
  • And a brand-new game mode in the form of Training Mode! Originally scrapped from the base game, Training Mode allows players to test battle combinations and strategies against a CPU, which can be set to focus on avoiding the player's attacks, retaliating or doing nothing whatsoever. The player can also call for CPU allies and additional opponents to practise Tag Battle strategies.

DLC Pack 3 for Draco Duel 2 will release on December 6th 2020, just in time for the Holiday season. If you haven't picked up these free updates already, now is the time!

Sunday 1st November[]

A trailer begins showing what appears to be a dark dungeon. Two figures are stood in the dungeon, though nothing can be seen of either as a blinding bright light is shining from a basin located in the center of the room. Under the light, one of the figures appears red, and the other appears white.
Puddle mysterious person 2
???
Is it true?
Puddle mysterious person
???
I don't know what you're talking about.
Puddle mysterious person 2
???
The war. It's begun again, hasn't it?
The white figure begins crying. Amidst their sobs, they place a red jewel on the stone basin in the center of the misty room.
Puddle mysterious person
???
I'm sorry... This is all I could find.
Puddle mysterious person 2
???
You did well. Don't berate yourself.
Puddle mysterious person
???
What now? What do we do? We can't leave this place to collapse into ruin.
Puddle mysterious person 2
???
We will bide our time carefully. When the hour is right, and well the full moon shines crimson, we shall make our mark. All of this petty fighting will be over.
Puddle mysterious person
???
Thank you, sister. I have faith that we can turn this around. Faith that we can return the peace and leave our impression upon the denizens of this land.
The fog grows thicker, obscuring the view of the dungeon. Only the red crystal's light penetrates the mist, and it glows dimly before fading. A logo appears on the screen.
