Donkey Kong Country Crystalized is a 2.5D Donkey Kong platformer developed with the assistance of Nightcap Devs.
Plot[]
Opening[]
King K. Rool can be seen inside his ship making his way to the Banana Fairy island. They start firing at the island, causing all the Banana Fairies to start panicking. K. Rool's ship starts closing in on the island. Once they arrive at the island, they make their way inside the island and kidnap the queen. With the queen out of the way, King K. Rool locks his eyes on a Coconut known as the Princess' Crystal Coconut. King K. Rool and the Kremlings make their way back to the ship and set sail towards Donkey Kong Island.
Meanwhile, Donkey Kong and his friends can be seen relaxing on the island and enjoying some bananas. However, Diddy Kong notices King K. Rool's ship. King K. Rool then uses the power of the Princess' Crystal Coconut to strike the island with lightning. With each lightning strike crystalizing the area that was struck. Donkey Kong and his friends try to figure out a way to make it stop, but King K. Rool ends up striking them and crystalizing them, with only Chunky Kong getting away.
After some time passes, Chunky Kong breaks the crystals his friends are trapped in and fills them in on what happened while they were frozen. He mentions that Kremlings have crystalized most of the island and that they took the Banana Hoard while DK and his friends were crystalized. The Kong Family waste no time making their way to the first level.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is similiar to previous Donkey Kong Country games. However, this game has elements of Donkey Kong 64. Such as the return of weapons, Crystal Coconuts, and musical instruments. Most of the playable roster returns from Donkey Kong 64 as well. The goals of most levels is to avoid the obstacles and reach the Golden Banana at the end of each level.

Playable Kongs[]
The kongs that you can take control of when playing a level. You can select them at the start of the level and you can also jump in certain Tag Barrels in order to switch Kongs mid-level.

Donkey Kong: The ruler of Donkey Kong Island and the leader of the bunch. He has the most balanced stats out of the group.

Diddy Kong: DK's partner and P2. He is a very fast character and can use the jetpack on his back to slow his descent.

Lanky Kong: The Kong that has no style and no grace. But he does have a funny face. He is the fastest of the Kongs but also falls faster than them.

Dixie Kong: Diddy Kong's girlfriend. She's almost as fast as Diddy and she can spin her ponytail to gain some extra height.

Tiny Kong: The cool Kong... that doesn't really live up to her name. She is slower than her sister and can slow her decent like Diddy, but unlike Diddy she falls slower.

Chunky Kong: The Kong with a very small amount of bravery, but a big amount of strength. he can destroy things that most Kongs aren't capable of breaking normally.

Cranky Kong: The Kong that originally fought against a Plumber... well... so he claims. He can use his cane to bounce around and avoid getting harmed by spikes.

Swanky Kong: He can be found in front of a spinning barrel with icons on them. You can stop the barrel from spinning by jumping on it. Depending on wich icon the barrels stops spinning,You'll earn Bananas,Supply Boxes,Orange Grenades and even extra lives. | |
Donkey Kong II: If you lose a certain amount of lives in a level,A Pink barrel will appear near you. If you throw the Barrel,this Kong will appear and complete the level for you.
However,He will skip secret areas and all the stuff he collects on his way won't count towards your total. |

Green Kritter: The most common members of the Kremling Krew. These guys will simply walk forward and slash the Kongs if they get close. | |
Red Kritter: These Kritters will go forward like the green versions, but they will jump while doing so. | |
Blue Kritter: These Kritters will jump up and down like Red Kritter, but they will stay in place. | |
Brown Kritter: These Kritters will jump back and forth. | |
Blue Klaptrap: They will give chase to the Kongs. If they're defeated, their dentures will chase you for a bit. | |
Red Klaptrap: They behave like Blue Klaptraps, but they're bigger and harder to defeat. | |
Klobber: They will hide in barrels and pop-out if a Kong gets near them. They will then start chasing that Kong. They can only be defeated by an Orange Grenade. | |
Bazuka: They will stand still and shoot TNT Barrels at the Kongs. | |
General Klump: These guys will throw Orange Grenades at the Kongs. | |
Gnawty: These beavers will walk forward and chase the Kongs if they get near them. | |
Zinger: These guys will fly back and forth, up and down and even in circles. They can't be jumped on. | |
Manky Kong: They will stand still and throw barrels at the other Kongs. | |
Kosha: These guys will fly back and forth, up and down and even in circles. They can't be jumped on. | |
Army: They will walk forward and roll towards the Kongs if they get near. | |
Crystal Grenade: These guys will Bounce around and explode once the Kongs get near. | |
Jade Muncher: They will float in place and wait for the Kongs to grab their vines. Once the Kongs grab on,They will retract their vines and try to bite the Kongs. Meaning you have to let go of the vine if you don't want to get hurt. |

Crystal Coconut: Having a certain amount of these in your possession allows the Kongs to perform their Crystal Coconut Ability. | |
Barrel: These can be picked up and thrown at enemies. | |
TNT Barrel: These can be picked up and thrown at enemies. Unlike regular barrels,these will explode when they collide with something. | |
DKII Barrel: These barrels will appear when you lose a certain amount of lives in a level. Breaking them will let Donkey Kong II take over and complete the level for you. | |
Cannon Barrel: Entering these will launch you in the direction they're pointing. | |
Tag Barrel: These can be found in certain levels. Jumping in them allows you to switch Kongs. |

Jade Jungle: As the name implies, most of this world is crystalized in jade. There are a lot of spiked pits in this world, So you'll need to use vines to get across. | |
Diamond Dock: In this world, you'll be spending most of your time under and above the sea. There are a lot of diamonds that act as platforms in the world. | |
Topaz Town: A town crystalized in topaz. You'll find yourself jumping on a bunch of buildings in order to advance through the town. | |
Ruby Road: A big road crystalized in ruby. There are a bunch of enemies and obstacles that will test everything you've learned. There's also fire and lava all over the place. | |
Amethyst Arena: An arena crystalized in amethyst. The enemies in this world are tougher and all the amethyst around the arena can make it difficult to reach the end. | |
TBA | Obsidian Oak: A giant tree crystalized in obsidian. This world is very dark and a lot of enemies will use this darkness to their advantage |

Crystal Armydillo: The boss of the Crystal Coast. He will attack by rolling around and firing crystals from his 2 cannons. The Kongs will need to throw barrels at him in order to flip him over. The Kongs will then need to jump on him while he's flipped over. This needs to be repeated 6 times in order to win. | |
Jade Zinger: The boss of the Jade Jungle . He will attack by stinging the ground and causing earthquakes. He will also fly around the area and try to ram the Kongs. He will often land and try to slash the Kongs with it's six hands. Donkey Kong needs to throw jade pieces at it in order to stun it. Donkey Kong can only jump on him while he's stunned. This needs to be done 6 times in order to win the fight. | |
Diamond Saucer: The boss of the Diamond Dock . The Klump inside the saucer will attack by dropping sharp diamonds and shooting lazers that will crystalize the Kongs. He will also try to stomp the ground and cause an earthquake. Some Diamonds will remain stuck on the ground. The kongs need to throw these diamonds back at the saucer in order to destroy the diamonds that are orbiting around the saucer. Then,the kongs need to jump on the saucer. This needs to be repeated 4 times in order to win. | |
Topaz Kong: The boss of the Topaz Town. He'll jump on some pillars and drop barrels bellow. He will also summon spiky topazes to drop on the kongs. He will also jump on the pillars and try to roll into the kongs. You'll need to throw barrels at him in order to stum him and then jump on him. This needs to be done 6 times in order to win. | |
Ruby Fairy Misadoma: The boss of the Ruby Road. She's under K.Rools control and is forced to use her powers to stop the Kongs. In battle,She flies around and drops seeds that will spawn flowers. These flowers will shoot flames forward. She will try to dive bomb towards the Kongs and she will also summon meteors. Some of these meteors will cool off once they land. You need to throw these metoers at Misadoma in order to stun her. Then you'll need to jump on her. This needs to be done 6 times in order to win. |
