|
Diddy Kong is one cool chimp and is known as Donkey Kong’s “Little Buddy”. They have gone on many adventures together like fighting Kremlings and getting their banana horde back. He also has a girlfriend named Dixie Kong who joined Diddy to rescue Donkey Kong from King K Rool. Dixie, in turn, would go to save both Diddy and Donkey in a later adventure.
Gameplay
Diddy Kong is a nimble character who focuses on speed, aerial mobility, as well as some elongated attacks. He uses a variety of items such as the Peanut Popgun, Rocketbarrel, and Banana for his specials.
Classic Mode: Hey, Little Buddy!
Diddy Kong serves as Donkey Kong’s “little buddy” and so his Classic Mode battles includes him as a “little buddy” to other Nintendo characters.

Role in World of Light
Diddy Kong is obliterated after seeing Donkey Kong fall to the light beam. He tried to escape to fight another day but was erased alongside Rosalina and Luma.
Diddy Kong is rescued alongside Donkey Kong and King K. Rool in the Jungle area who then decides to go off on his own to search for Dixie along with Donkey Kong. Diddy Kong’s Arc takes Diddy Kong to Magican area where he also rescues Ness. Together, they fight against Porky Minch to free Dixie Kong. He, Dixie Kong, and Ness are later reunited with Donkey Kong. He later appears along with the rest of the cast in the final battles.

|
Diddy Kong shoots to peanut from his Popgun. The longer Diddy Kong charges the attack, the farther and quicker the peanut will fly. If Diddy Kong overcharges the attack, however, it will cause a very powerful explosion that leaves him vulnerable.

Monkey Flip
|
Diddy Kong performs a sideways hop that has the potential to launch him onto an opponent's face if timed correctly. Smashing the control stick will launch Diddy slightly farther. Once you have clung onto his foe's face, he can double chop them and leap away by pressing the attack button, or can perform a pseudo footstool jump with the jump button.

|
Diddy Kong charges his rocketbarrel pack which can potentially fly very far and very fast when charged, Hitting a surface, or being hit, will make Diddy Kong lose his rocketbarrels before falling to a huge distance while being unable to perform any action. Diddy Kong will also gain 5% damage to hitting a surface.

|

|

Rocketbarrel Barrage

Diddy Kong activates his Rocketbarrel Pack and flies up. I have then dashes across the screen in multiple directions, dealing damage to whoever he touches. After a while, I will lock on to the opponent's opponent, and unleash one final dash attack that launches the targeted opponent, as well as any other nearby opponents. After this last attack, Diddy Kong descends back to his original position. His Rocketbarrel Pack explodes before he lands, which damages nearby opponents.
