Sonic Retro Adventure (ソニック·ザ·ヘッジホッグファイブ (Sonic the Hedgehog 5) in Japan) is a 2-D platformer that is going to be released for the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. It is a game that is like the original Sonic games.
Characters[]
Sonic the Hedgehog[]
Sonic is the most well-rounded character. His speed is usual, his jumps are usual and he gets the insta-shield from Sonic 3 & Knuckles again.
Miles "Tails" Prower[]
Tails plays like he did in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, except his is a tiny bit slower. He can fly and swim as well.
Knuckles the Echidna[]
Like Tails, Knuckles plays like he did in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. He can glide, climb walls and his strength outmatches all the other characters. He is also the slowest character.
Amy Rose[]
An unlockable character. Amy is as fast as Tails and uses her hammer in quite a few techniques. When running at full speed, Amy can do a somersault which is 2 times as high as a regular jump. Amy can also hit enemies with her hammer and in mid-air, she can do a hammer spin which can make her jumps longer.
Espio the Chameleon[]
An unlockable character. Espio's speed is in between Knuckles' speed and Tails' speed. He can damage mid-air enemies, by pressing the jump button in mid-air, by throwing shurikens. He can also turn invisible for 3 seconds when you press up on the joy-stick/D-Pad and the jump buttton. This has to recharge for 30 seconds. When at full speed, he can also climb up walls.
Mighty the Armadillo[]
The final unlockable character. Mighty is the best character in the game. His speed matches Sonic's, in mid-air, when you press the jump button, he can do a double jump and , for the cost of 25 rings, can destroy every ground enemy on the screen. This move needs a minute recharging though.

Super Emeralds[]
Super Emeralds found like Chaos Emeralds except their special rings are white instead of gold. There is only 1 super ring in each act, and none of them appear until you get at least 1 chaos emerald.
Chaos Portal[]
Chaos Portals can only be found once in every zone. Inside the Chaos Portal, you play a mini-game. In the mini-game, you have to play a roulette. There are 5 options: +10 rings, -10 rings, Jackpot, Robotnik and Chaos. Jackpot gives you 100 rings, Robotnik gets rid of 50 rings and Chaos shows you the way to a Chaos/Super Emerald ring.
