Day 1 - Heroes Always Get Remembered[]

Welcome to our Spooky Scary Showcase! Today is the Day of Heroes and we'll mostly be going over already revealed games.

Super Smash Bros. Salvo[]

Super Smash Bros. Salvo Logo

Trailer - Draw Your Sword![]

Link and Marth are seen battling in a field in broad daylight. As their blades clash, a new challenger can be seen in the distance. Link jumps back from Marth and uses his Hookshot to disarm the hero prince. An unknown force slices through the Hookshot, allowing Marth to keep his sword. Marth charges at Link and their swords clash once again. The two deliver several skilful and blocked slashes. Suddenly, a sword-user spins their sword around with their blade, forcing the two back.

Fantasy Life Paladin
Fantasy Hero livens up!

The trailer switches to gameplay of Fantasy Hero in action, fighting Link and Marth on an unknown stage. Fantasy Hero makes good use of her minute stature and speed as she battles the two. Oddly, she only uses her sword in battle. The screen goes black and switches back to a cutscene. After defeating the duo, they shake hands. The camera pans up to see that they are surrounded by a dark substance. The trio back closer together, ready to fight. A sword hits the substance, which begins to retreat. A blonde-haired boy jumps down and picks up the sword.

HeroDTL
Drawn Hero creates victory!

Drawn Hero turns to face the group, triggering a gameplay sequence. Drawn Hero seems to fight mostly with a sword which disappears when not in use and seems to be drawn and coloured in as he uses it. His Snowshooter shares this attribute. It ends with Drawn Hero hitting Fantasy Hero with a fully drawn and coloured sword, causing tremendous knockback.

The trailer ends with a shadowy figure watching the four battle, laughing to himself, before the Super Smash Bros. Salvo logo appears onscreen.

Character Analysis[]

Fantasy Life Paladin

Fantasy Hero uses moves from all possible Lives in their debut game, Fantasy Life. More info to be revealed at another time.

HeroDTL

Drawn Hero is a unique character with a new mechanic. While his stats are nothing to write home about - they are very similar to that of Toon Link’s - Drawn Hero’s true potential lies in his Creator mechanic. He wields several weapons in battle, ranging from a sword to a gun that shoots acorns, but none of them would exist without the help of the Creator. When not in use, Drawn Hero will remain weaponless. However, when Drawn Hero decides to go on the offensive and attack, the Creator will provide him with the weapon he desires. So, as Drawn Hero swings his sword, the Creator will draw it and colour it. This means his weapons are most powerful when fully coloured and drawn.

Drawn Hero’s Final Smash is called Book of Creation. Drawn Hero opens the Book of Creation, causing colour to fly out of it. Hazards are drawn all over the stage, including fire, Bakis, Shadows, Shadow Bats and spikes. Drawn Hero will not be hurt by these and can move around and attack until the move is finished.

424Ambipom

Ambipom is certainly a unique fighter, what with his two hand-like tails. These tails are his main method of fighting, meaning he can deliver powerful and long-ranged blows. Of course, he can be slow due to his feet not being as powerful as his tails, but who needs speed when you’ve got two giant fists? He has actual hands for a reason, too. Ambipom can attack with these, but they’re pretty weak. After all, they’re probably not used that much. All of Ambipom’s special attacks and the vast majority of his regular and Smash attacks revolve around his fist tails.

Ambipom’s Final Smash is Double Team. Ambipom splits into several copies, all of which are AI controlled except one. The Ambipoms will attack opponents and can be harmed. Each one has a set amount of health and will vanish once defeated. After a while, Ambipom will cause the copies to shatter into pieces.

Squid Sisters

The Squid Sisters are a team character, but less like the Ice Climbers. Think an advanced Duck Hunt. They fight together and you can switch the lead singer at any time via taunts, changing how some attacks function. Marie uses a Charger - a range focused ink-shooting weapon - while Callie wields a Roller - a melee weapon made for bulldozing foes. As well as their weapons, the Squid Sisters use the power of song to fight. They can attack by striking poses or dancing, like Wii Fit Trainer in a sense. These attacks are the same regardless of who is the lead dancer.

Their Final Smash is Splat Fest. The lights will dim and spotlights land on Callie and Marie. Accompanied by the cheers of their fans, the duo will sing one of their famous songs. This emits soundwaves, which can be made bigger and more powerful by attacking in time with the music.

Chromatic War[]

Chromatic War Promo 1

Now, we’d like to talk a bit about a project of ours which hasn’t been worked on much as of yet, Chromatic War! We’d like to announce that this is one of our main priorities! If you look at the page, you’ll see that the green and orange sections of the table are missing. Like it says, we’ll be revealing them today!

Meet Juniper Cullen - Green Soul - and Rust Davern - Orange Soul! Juniper is packed to the brim with sass and loves to run her mouth, though that trait seems to be common among the group. She and Allium used to know each other as kids, but neither of them really remember the other so it’s kind of an awkward situation between them. For reasons we’re not ready to reveal yet, she has immense trust issues, hence why she doesn’t have the team’s signature four-pointed star anywhere on her outfit. Rust, on the other hand, is very competitive. He often tries to take charge, but everyone just turns their attention back to Blain and Rose. He was raised in an anti-Tertiary environment, though they were somewhat extremists. He’s also pretty tall. We don’t have an exact chart, but here’s a rough height chart.

Rough CW Height Ref

That about wraps it up for Chromatic War. Stay tuned for the story, because that's the big meat of the game!

Allium Older

Project: CLASS[]

The trailer opens on a Roman coliseum. On one side of the arena is a female gladiator, wielding a trident. Facing her is a medieval-age knight, gripping his sword. Both appear to be very young.

Gladiator FemaleKnight Male

The two engage in battle. The knight appears to be overpowering the gladiator, who blocks his thrusts. The gladiator manages to push her opponent back and smirks at him. She jumps into the air to deliver the finishing blow with her trident, when she is frozen in place by a bottle thrown at her. The knight gazes up at the girl frozen in midair. The camera pans over to a girl in a loose-fitting shirt, throwing a bottle up and down.

Alchemist Female

The alchemist bites the cork off her bottle and throws it at the knight. The knight runs, and rightly so, for the bottle explodes soon after. The gladiator finally lands and turns to face her new opponent. She charges, but is slowed down severely by a potion from the alchemist. She continues to do this for a while, until a cascade of water falls onto the battlefield. All three look around, confused. Water balloons land on each of their heads and a boy with goggles lands in the center or the arena.

Diver Male

The four then engage in battle. The diver attacks using water balloons, water guns and the like. He ties the alchemist up in a hose , which he connects to the tank on his back. Turning the nozzle, the hose untangles, throwing the alchemist to the ground. The diver uses the hose to launch the knight away, then turns to face the gladiator. He twirls his water guns around and the gladiator charges. The diver calmly blows into a bubble wand, trapping the gladiator in a bubble.

Saol[]

Saol

This... This is embarrassing. We had a lot more to showcase concerning this... but we fell a bit behind on the art. At least we can give our biggest announcement for today: The first chapter is up! Well, a preview of it. Expect that link to actually lead somewhere in a few minutes. Anyway, we did get a few arts done.

Tobias Saol

Meet Tobias! He’s from the Eclait dimension, a dimension riddled with discrimination against those who cannot use magic. You guessed it, he can’t use magic! Ironically enough, he’s gay too. The Eclait dimension has one of the highest amounts of playable characters in the game, along with the Morath dimension. In his home dimension, Tobias was a comedian. The fact that he was unable to use magic was funny enough to some, but he was actually a fairly competent comedian. In battle, he comes armed with his sheer strength. And a gun.

Amelia Amethyst

And here’s one of Amelia’s alternate costumes! Everybody gets at least one, though the main characters tend to get more. This costume is titled Crystal Warrior.

Project: TIME[]

Jikan

Meet Jikan! Jikan is identifiable by his watch, which is actually an ancient artefact with the ability to manipulate the very construct of time!

In Project: TIME, Jikan must make use this ability in various ways. Of course, there’s the obvious ability to travel back in time to solve problems. However, these have present-day outcomes too! Whether these are good or bad is up to you. For example, if you go back and plant a seed, then there will be a tree or flower in the present day. Or prevent a murder in the past and the man may still be walking today. Other abilities include rewinding, slowing, freezing or speeding up time. However, Jikan cannot travel to the future.

Another unique ability involving time that Jikan possesses is the ability to create temporal loops. These are kind of hard to explain, best put into an example. So, let’s say Jikan reaches a locked door. He finds a trio of switches that open it when stopped on together, but cannot step on all three and reach the door at one time. The obvious solution? A temporal loop! Jikan starts the loop and stands on the first switch for a while. He resets the loop and sees a reflection of himself stepping on the first switch. Jikan steps on the second for a while. and resets the loop. He does the same with the third switch, then resets. Now, Jikan’s reflections are stepping on the switches for him, allowing him to pass through the door!

Project: TIME does not have a release date as of yet.

Project: GOOD[]

Nanananananananana... Well, you get it by now. welcome to Project: GOOD! In Project: GOOD, you take control of a superhero of your own creation in a life simulator. Think Tomodachi Life meets The Sims meets an action game. Let’s get started, shall we? Up, up and away!

Let’s talk about character creation to begin. After choosing gender, you get a variety of customizable costumes to choose from. Be it a bodysuit, leather jacket, whatever! It’s your superhero, you choose! Are you going to make them your knight in shining armour or yourself as a hero? Next, choose an alias! You can randomize it get names such as Green Fire, Cosmic Thunder or Lightning Lion, or choose it yourself. Next up is possibly the most important, your superpower! Is your superhero a fire-spitting saviour, a mud-controlling marauder or an icy-cold idol? It’s completely up to you! Finally, you must design an emblem for them. If they don’t have an emblem, how are citizens in danger supposed to call for help? After making your super persona, you’ve gotta make your regular, law-abiding citizen alter-ego. Up to 15 characters can be made.

All your characters live in one town in seemingly the middle of nowhere. But here’s the catch: nobody knows anyone else is a superhero! This makes for some interesting interactions between characters. Some may be best buds on the field of combat, but hate each other at work. If you want a romance to bloom, both aliases must get along. Be careful not to expose your powers, though! If you do, things begin to get tricky...

When somebody needs help from a superhero, an emblem will shine in the sky in the distance. It’s up to you to save the innocent civilians from harm! When you get to the battlefield, it plays out like a hack ‘n’ slash game, with you, the superhero, tearing through crowds of enemies with your laser vision or army of cosmic dogs to reach the citizen in need. Sometimes the aid of multiple heroes is required, each with different objectives. When this happens, you must continuously switch between them to ensure each of them reaches their destination safely.

Project: GOOD will be released soon.

Splatoon 2: Inkvasion[]

Splatoon 2 Inkvasion

You thought this was dead, didn’t you? Well, that’s where you’re wrong! Splatoon 2: Inkvasion is back and better than ever! Today, we’re gonna announce some new weapon classes.

Stamps take on the appearance of large hammers with stamps on the end. These weapons work by slamming them on the ground and stamping turf. These weapons are very slow - possibly the slowest in the game - but are very powerful. When splatted by a Stamp, the usual "Splatted by x" message will be replaced with "Squashed by x"

Palettes are unlike any weapon in Splatoon as of now. By shaking your palette, a small wave of ink can be launched. It works a bit like the Slosher, but much weaker and covers less turf. Palettes can also be held like shields, only while standing still. This deflects attacks from the front, but covers your Palette in enemy ink, draining your ink gauge. As well as that, Palettes can be used like surfboards, though only in ink. Surfing on your own ink starts off slow, then goes to squid speed, then slightly outspeeds it. This is a good tactic if you wish to distract the opponent, simply annoy them or get away quickly. When used on enemy ink, it acts more like a rideable Stamp mixed with a Roller. You can surf, albeit slowly, spreading ink all the while. Your Palette will fall every now and then, splatting the ground much akin to a Stamp.

Now, a new map. Quillback Palace takes place in and outside of the palace. The gardens are paved with stone, with a small greenhouse on either side. There are several pillars ripe for the climbing. Inklings commonly dine on the staircase into the palace, but that’s been cleared for Turf Wars. The inside of the palace has two stories which do not overlap. From the top floor, you can access the balconies, where you can snipe any unsuspecting Inklings.

Another new map we’d like to announce, Salmon Sewers. Located under Splatlantis, Salmon Sewers is truly a confusing place. It is a maze in itself and seems to constantly be against you, having lots of water to accidentally fall in. There are a few large areas where fierce competition takes place and a few elevated paths on grates.

We’d also like to announce that Hero Mode in this game will be much bigger than in its predecessor, with new allies to help you along the way, a longer story - though keeping with the simple style of the first - and a choice of weapons.

That about wraps it up for today, see you tomorrow!

Day 2 - But You Know Villains Never Die[]

Happy Halloween! In honour of the holiday, today is the day of villainy!

Super Smash Bros. Salvo[]

Super Smash Bros. Salvo Logo

No trailer for today, let's get straight into the action!

Character Analysis[]

Daroach

Daroach is one of Kirby’s greatest enemies. In his first game, he started out by taking Kirby’s cake. By the end, he summoned Dark Nebula, an entity composed of pure darkness. As you might imagine, he’s a formidable foe on the battlefield. He hovers slightly above the ground most of the time, making him very quick and great in the air thanks to his excellent jump and aerials. He wields an ancient artefact known as the Triple Star in battle. The Triple Star is capable of shooting three stars that come back around, but is pretty strong in itself.

Daroach’s Final Smash is known as Dark Nebula. He opens a treasure chest, spewing black and purple stars in all directions. These stars can damage foes slightly, but cause little to no knockback. Finally, Dark Nebula is summoned. Touching Dark Nebula will deal great damage, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem. After floating to the middle of the stage, Dark Nebula will shoot beams of ice, electricity or fire in either an X shape or a cross.

Spinni

Spinni is a part of Daroach’s crew, the Squeak Squad. Armed with great speed and ninja-like abilities, overpowering your opponent with relentless attacks and combos is essential to Spinni’s moveset. As one of the fastest characters in the game, Spinni is much better on the ground than in the air, much the opposite of his boss. His moveset makes use of his various ninja tools such as ninja stars and claws. Spinni also commands a small army of Squeakers in battle. Nobody really knows where they go when not in use. His cape? Probably.

Spinni’s Final Smash involves his team, the Squeak Squad. Spinni calls upon the Squeak Squad to assist him in battle. Storo will body slam once or twice, Doc will fly around, shooting lasers and abducting items and Squeakers will roam around the stage, doing their best to help.

Hilda SSBConquest

Hilda is the princess of Lorule, and an antagonist of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Stat-wise, she’s very similar to her Hyrulean counterpart, Zelda. However, their attacks vary greatly. Hilda wields a staff with the Lorulean Triforce emblem on it. Using her staff, Hilda can attack with dark magic that can be charged. As well as this, the staff works as a good melee weapon. Hilda can also summon paintings to trap enemies in or to reflect attacks.

Hilda’s Final Smash is Yuganon, a nightmarish fusion of Lorule’s greatest enemy and Hyrule’s prominent threat, Tuga and Ganon, respectively. Yuganon displays tremendous size and power, so much so that even Hilda can be hurt by him. It’s best to stay out of Yuganon’s way, even if you are the summoner.

Octoling transparent

Octoling is a semi-clone of Inkling. They have the exact same stats as their squid-kid counterparts, but have a different arsenal of weapons at their disposal, though not many at that. Their moveset focuses on obstacles used in Octo Valley, as well as the spreading of ink. While they do sometimes use Octoshots, they much prefer the obstacles from their home. These include, but are not limited to, Sponges, Inkrails, Gushers and Spreaders.

Octoling’s Final Smash is Octostrike. This functions essentially the same as Inkling’s Instrike attack, though with the added cosmetic effect of an Octostrike appearing just before each tornado of ink. The first Octostrike hits the middle, then the right, then left.

Stage Analysis[]

World 1-1 NSMBU

World 1-1 is a sidescrolling stage based on 2D Mario platformers such as New Super Mario Bros. Hop through obstacles such as Goombas, Koopa Troopas, etc. and over pipes, brick blocks and such. All the while, fighting your enemies. It’s a race to the end, because whoever reaches the flagpole first gets an extra point or stock, like the Special Flag item.

Saltspray Rig

Saltspray Rig is slightly bigger than the average stage. Think Luigi’s Mansion and a half. It takes place in the back area of the rig, where crates are stacked upon each other. The ground cannot be seen, so you must hop from crate to crate. On either side of the screen lies a small grated platform. Occasionally, a crane will lift a platform from side to side above the fighters.

Bluefin Depot

Bluefin Depot is a very big stage. It takes place over the whole arena, with a large elevated area on either side. On starting the match, one of two modes will be chosen. Splat Zones makes the central area a high-launch zone, making it a high-risk-high-pay area. Tower Control spawns a tower in the center of the stage. By standing on the tower, it will begin to travel to whichever tower zone it is farthest from. When it reaches its destination, it will explode.

Project: CLASS[]

Project: CLASS is a new fighter revolving heavily around customization. It’s so centered around it that there are no characters available; you must create them yourself! This game features a class system similar to that of Fire Emblem. Once you create your character, you can choose from one of the root classes. Knight, Gladiator, Alchemist and Diver are just some examples of these. After levelling up and meeting the requirements, you can be promoted to a new class. For example, if you level up enough as a Knight, you can become a Cavalry Knight. Sometimes classes can share promotions and a select few classes can promote more than once.

Gladiator Female

Gladiators wield tridents and as such are somewhat tricky powerhouses. They need precision, but also aggression. This class is not for the faint of heart.

Knight Male

Knights bear swords and suits of armour. The armour slows them down, but their sheer power makes up for it. This class is suited to those who want to defend loved ones.

Alchemist Female

Alchemists carry an arsenal of potions on their belt. These can be thrown, sprayed or drank, depending on the situation. This class is for those who are not afraid to experiment.

Diver Male

Divers wear goggles and come armed with an array of water-themed tools. They are better from a distance, though their bubble wands are best up-close. This class is for those who love to play tricks.

Fear Fighters (2015)[]

After what seems like forever, we’re proud to announce that Fear Fighters (2015) will finally begin development! It’s been stuck in developmental hell forever, but after a lot of work behind the scenes, we’re finally ready to get this show on the road! To begin, let’s meet our protagonist.

Dawn Shadows 2015

Meet Dawn Shadows! For years now, her dreams have been haunted by strange people. Now, they have handpicked her. For what? They haven’t told her. Dawn is stuck halfway between the Fearscape and the Fantendoverse, after going to sleep one night. She woke up in the middle of nowhere, now wielding powers over darkness.

Personality-wise, Dawn’s pretty aggressive. Not the person you’d want to spend time around if you had a choice. She’s always up for fighting anything. You looked at her funny? Knocked out. You’re talking about her? Kicked. You’re a baby? Dawn doesn’t care. She’ll fight you regardless. Behind this curtain of hostility, Dawn is scared beyond belief at her current situation, and rightly so. As the game progresses, Dawn becomes more confident and begins to care much more about her own well-being than those she cares about, if at all.

Fantasma

This girl here is Fantasma. She calls herself a Fear Fighter and is the first person Dawn meets in the Fearscape. Apparently, she represents the fear of ghosts. Dawn shrugs it off as some kind of joke initially, but comes to her senses when she has to fight Fantasma. Fantasma eventually becomes Dawn’s friend, maybe her only one. Still, it’s going to be a while before they stop grappling at each other’s throats and become buddies.

Separate versions of Fantasma are available:

Fear Fighters (2015) will begin very soon.

Project: SPACE[]

Project: SPACE is Project: TIME’s counterpart. Instead of messing with time, you now control the fabric of space. The protagonist hasn’t been confirmed yet - that’s top secret stuff - but we can confirm some gameplay elements.

To begin, let’s start with some simple stuff. The main character can select enemies, characters, items or platforms. From there, it’s essentially a copy and paste scenario. Some other abilities include switching between the foreground and background and changing gravity. As well as these, you have the ability to fold the environment. So, let’s say a wall stretches from the bottom of the screen to top, blocking you from your destination. Simple! Just fold over the wall and it’s gone!

Project: SPACE will be released alongside Project: TIME.

Project: EVIL[]

Sick of being the good guy? Tired of being praised? Hate getting the girl? We’ve got the game for you!

Project: EVIL is a mixture of The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Maker and Super Smash Bros. Yep, there we go again with weird mixtures. In Project: EVIL, you’re the villain! Let’s start with characters.

Choosing which villain to play as is an essential part of the game. The roster isn’t very large, but each villain stands apart from the next. As of now, we can only reveal one, unless we want to face the consequences. Without further ado, meet Malum!

Villain 1 - Malum
”...”

...Yeah. He’s not one for talking. Malum used to work at a circus, until he turned his eye to villainy! His powers revolve around mimicry and poisonous gas. Speaking of mimicry, his outfit may look a bit familiar.

Now that you’ve picked your villain, it’s time to choose a hostage. After deciding on a princess, prince, fairy, or whatever, you must raid their castle and kidnap them! Each castle has its own hazards and guards which you must make your way past. Once you reach the princess, it’s fair game. Most of the time. Some hostages refuse to be captured and will fight back. It’s up to you to defeat them and make it out of the castle unnoticed.

Now you’re back at your evil lair, but somebody will be here to rescue your hostage any time soon! You must craft a Legend of Zelda-style dungeon, using only some common hazards and some villain exclusives. For example, everyone has access to the likes of falling swords and spikes, but only Malum can use clowns and poison clouds. Of course, you can borrow items from other villains for a price.

If the hero does somehow make it through your dungeon of doom, you must best them in a battle. Heroes are stronger than hostages and have two possible methods of victory: defeat you or rescue your prisoner.

This game is compatible with Project: GOOD. Heroes from there may come to triumph over you, often more powerful than your regular hero and wielding new powers, never seen before.

You can publish your dungeons online for pesky heroes to attempt to traverse, or play somebody else’s dungeon to get exclusive items.

Project: EVIL is amiibo compatible too. Most amiibos work by giving a new dungeon skin, minion or item, but a select few do something unique.

Fire Kirby KRTDLIceKirbyTransparent
Leaf KirbyKTD Circus

Fire and Ice are default, while Circus and Leaf are unlockable. We are far from done with amiibo abilities, since our games tend to make heavy use of amiibo support.

Character Analysis[]

Mii Fighters SSB4

Mii Fighters (Brawler, Gunner, Swordfighter) return from the previous installment. They remain relatively unchanged.

Mii artwork04-MGWT

Mii Athlete is a Mii that loves to take part in sporting activities. These Mii Fighters use sport-themed attacks like tennis, karting and archery. They are recognized by the fact that they are always holding a sports utensil, be it a bowling ball, an oar or even a frisbee, as well as their short-sleeved shirts.

Mii Athlete’s Final Smash is Volleyball. If an enemy or multiple are close enough, Mii Athlete will pick them up and toss them into the air. Several Miis will spawn on either side of a volleyball net and they will take part in a short game of volleyball, using the opponents as a ball. The attack ends with Mii Athlete delivering a spike on them.

Party Mii

Mii Partier is a Mii Fighter who loves to, well, party! This Mii Fighter uses moves inspired by games such as Wii Party, Nintendo Land and Tomodachi Life. They are identifiable by their waistcoats and wacky items.

Mii Partier’s Final Smash is Apartment Block. The Mii pulls out a blueprint and calls upon several Miis to build the biggest possible apartment building from Tomodachi Life in the middle of the stage. Mii Partier will hold out their hands after it is finished, before it explodes. This attack launches opponents very far.

MiiMKTT

Mii Archer is a Mii with a sharp eye and great aim. They are identifiable by the fact that they hold a bow in hand and a quiver of arrows on their back. This Mii Fighter wields a vast array of arrow types, ranging from explosive to grappling arrows. Most of their attack can be charged and they are much better at long-range fighting.

Mii Archer’s Final Smash is Tri-Arrow. Mii Archer jumps to one side of the stage and notches their bow. Three powerful arrows are released in separate directions, causing tremendous damage.

PalutenaUprising

Palutena returns from the previous installment. She remains relatively unchanged.

ViridiRadioactive

Viridi is the goddess of nature who takes on a youthful appearance. Her attacks revolve around her staff and the summoning of the Forces of Nature to fight alongside her. She’s a slow character, but her heavy staff makes up for where her speed lets her down. You don’t really need speed that much either, when you’ve got so many projectiles.

Viridi’s Final Smash is known as Reset Bomb. The goddess jumps into the sky and yells something about humans, before dropping a Reset Bomb onto the battlefield. The explosion covers most of the stage, so the only way to avoid it is to get to the edges or stay in the air.

Stage Analysis[]

Route 210

Route 210 is an average sized stage. It takes place in Route 210 of Sinnoh, a route clouded in fog over a canyon. The stage takes place on one of the bike platforms, with a few suspended overhead. The stage is exceptionally foggy, so there are lots of places to hide, including the tall grass on the left side of the stage. It is home to Vespiquen.

Skylanders: Masters[]

Skylanders: Masters is a revival of the alive and kicking series, Skylanders. Since it’s a pretty active series, I suppose we can’t call it a revival. Reboot? Remake? Remodel? Eh. Whatever.

Skylanders: Masters focuses on bringing new elements (not actual elements like Life and Fire, but rather gameplay elements) to the table. Giants introduced the Giants, Swap Force introduced the Swap Force, Trap Team introduced the Trap Team and Superchargers introduced the Superchargers. You can see where I’m going with this. However, there isn’t just one Master for each element. There’s multiple per each element, but each one is a different type of Master. That’s right! Instead of introducing just one new class, we’re bringing in multiple!

Beast Masters play like regular Skylanders. Maybe a bit weaker. That is until you meet an unconfirmed condition. Then things get fun. Your Beast Master will become just that; a beast! Beast Masters in their Beast form are bigger than even Giants and are super destructive, though they can’t do things Giants can do. Instead, they wreck stuff up. Badly.

Space Masters are Skylanders sent to Skylands from a distant planet in outer space, sent to scout out habitable lands. They had a change of heart upon meeting the Skylanders and they’re ready to loan their powers to Skylands to help repair the Spacial Rifts they created. Space Masters can access Spacial Rifts. Inside is a world incomprehensible to your average Skylander, appearing to us as vast space. Enemies in here take on a cosmic form and are much tougher, but there are big rewards if you can seal off the rift.

Music Masters are Skylanders with an ear for music and a knack for fighting evil. When they are around, the music changes, oddly enough, to something with a more noticable beat. Nobody knows how they do it, but nobody complains. Their power is that attacking in sync with the music doubles their attack power. They can also open up Rhythm Gates.

Puppet Masters are Skylanders skilled in fields such as hypnotism, manipulation, persuasion and, most importantly, puppetry. After defeating an enemy, they may decide that the Skylander is a worthy opponent and join them. Most of the time weak enemies such as Chompies decide to join, but stronger enemies may be recruited. They will attack when told, retreat when ordered, etc. Scattered throughout Skylands are platforms or doors that require a certain amount of Skylanders to open it, and that’s just what Puppet Masters are for. There’s a bit more skill involved, as your allies can be defeated.

Reality Masters are of an unknown origin. It’s said that they came from the Spatial Rifts that the Space Masters opened, but none of them want to talk about where they came from. Reality Masters can manipulate parts of the area to their advantage. It’s really an astounding ability, and that’s saying something considering the odd cast that are the Skylanders. When anything in the area sparkles, Reality Masters can manipulate them to open up a new area.

Joining Hammer Slam Bowser and Turbo Charged Donkey Kong is Fury Flame Charizard! Fury Flame Charizard is a Beast Master, capable of becoming Mega Charizard Y to wreck the place. It is said that there will be more guest characters coming. The game also has amiibo compatibility.

T-Verse[]

Trip T-Verse

This young man is a soldier-in-training named Trip. “TRIP!?” I hear you cry. Yes, Trip. I’ve had a reboot in the works for quite some time now, and I think it’s time I finally reveal it.

So, Trip. Let’s start with him. To begin, he’s a reincarnation of a long line of powerful men with whom he shares his namesake with. He’s similar to Link in that way, but his role is undetermined. In some lives, he’s a brilliant hero, while in others he can be the bad guy. There have actually been a few cases of a Trip defeating another Trip. One of these few stories starred two twin Trips; one the hero and the other a villain! Trip’s role is not set in stone, so it’s up to you to decide his fate! Hero, villain or neutral.

Now, let’s talk a bit about Trip’s powers. Trip has access to a pocket dimension known as the T-Verse. This means he can open up small T-shaped portals to it. Living organisms can’t enter - with the exception of Trip - but objects can enter. This is Trip’s most common method of combat - he absorbs projectiles into the T-Verse and shoots them back out. The T-Verse can also be used for quick transportation from one area to the next. As such, a running gag in the series is his nickname; Trip the Portal Master

Trip can also reach into the T-Verse to pull out a random elemental artefact. These give him control over that element, but, again, the element is completely random. While using an element, he cannot access the T-Verse. The artefact will teleport back into the T-Verse over time, giving Trip his powers over the pocket dimension back. Among these elements are: Flame; Freeze; and Spectral.

T-Verse will be released sometime soon.

Codename: Hourglass[]

Don't worry! That's the actual name and not another placeholder title!

Codename: Hourglass is an upcoming TV series. It follows three main groups in their intertwining plotlines, though as of yet only one character has been revealed. Each subplot varies greatly and there is no common objective, so a collective synopsis is not possible at this stage of time. The story is said to be a mix of Agents of SHIELD, CBS Scorpion, The Maze Runner and The Flash.

Chloe Ahern is an agent of Hourglass. She travelled back in time from the distant future to stop a nuclear war that would one day destroy her world. In her future, nuclear warfare has turned the world to rubble. Hourglass has stayed strong throughout those decades of war and resorted to quarantining the agency underground because of all the radioactivity in the outside world. Since then, they have been focusing all their efforts on inventing a time machine to prevent the war at its source. Chloe, among others, was chosen to be sent back in time.

Now, Chloe spends her time working up the ranks of present-day Hourglass to gain intel and hopefully get sent on missions involving the imminent war. An anomaly during time-travelling gave her the ability to see the past of people, places or things - an ability she prefers not to use.

Meanwhile, a group of young people are being experimented on elsewhere. Chloe does not know of these. The experiments have given them powers, but also side-effects. One girl - Gail - cannot die, rather wakes up again the day before, a curse in itself. She also has narcolepsy, but they don’t think that was one of the side-effects. No, her power came at the price of losing her voice. Another girl - Catastrophe - has enhanced IQ and agility. Nobody has figured out what’s wrong with her or if she is a perfect mutation. Frostbyte and Arsyn can decrease and increase temperatures, respectively, but their lives are connected. None of them remember their lives before the experimentations, and frankly none of them want to.
