Animal Crossing: Relax in the City (どうぶつの森：リラックスできる場所, Dōbutsu no Mori: Iyashino basho, Animal Crossing: Relaxing Places) is the fifth game in the popular life-simulation series, Animal Crossing. It was released for the 7Si in 2017. Published and developed by SeventhHeaven, Animal Crossing: Relax in the City expands on the city aspect of City Folk and the mayor aspect of New Leaf, as well as adding many new features, such as fruit, flowers and characters. It was released in Japan in August 2017, America and Europe in October 2017 and finally Australia and Singapore in November 2017.
The game involves the player taking control of a character and controlling a village full of anthropomorphic animals, doing tasks for them, while getting money and furniture for yourself and even collecting fish, bugs, fossils and art to send to the museum. The game is real-time simulation and so all of the events happen on specific days, corresponding with the day you are currently on. Different animals wake up at different times, and will go to sleep at these times as well. Fish and bugs will appear on different days, which makes it more of a task to get these species.
Though this game has no specific storyline, nor objective, Animal Crossing: Relax in the City focuses on removing region-locked events, items and species. Several new online features have been added as well, instead of just visiting friends online and going to the island.
