is a standalone expansion released for Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II. In addition to containing all previously-released downloadable content for the original release, the DX expansion adds several new tanks, characters, costumes, maps, Extra Missions, and a new story mode that reimagines several battles depicted previously in the series.
Despite officially being described as a "standalone expansion", this is only true for the PlayStation 5 release in Japan. Players who own the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch are instead able to purchase a "Deluxe Bundle" downloadable content package that includes only the new content included in the expansion; owners of the PlayStation 5 version of the original game may also purchase this DLC in order to upgrade the digital copy of their game. There are two versions of this Deluxe Bundle - one that includes just the new content, and one ("Complete Deluxe Bundle") which includes the new content in addition to all the previously-released DLC. Thus, all content is separated into two categories: "Deluxe" (content included in both packs) and "Complete" (content only included in the Complete Deluxe Bundle and thus also sold for the base game). Players can purchase physical versions of the international version of the DX expansion for all three systems. As the international version of the original game did not allow players to purchase DLC, the standalone version of the DX expansion serves as the only way for players outside of Japan to use this additional content.
In addition to adding a plethora of new content, the DX expansion also makes some changes to other gameplay modes. This includes modifying some pre-existing Extra Missions from the base version of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II and, more prominently, balancing Domination Mode.
Extra Missions[]
Extra Mission Updates[]
Some Extra Missions included in the original release of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II are updated with the DX expansion. The changes made to Extra Missions are often in the form of replacing unnamed generic NPCs with characters included in post-launch content, with few having changes in tank lineups. The following Extra Missions have been altered:

The DX expansion includes 60 new Extra Missions, which are labelled as "DX Extra" in the menu. On top of the 50 Extra Missions included in the base game and the additional 40 released through downloadable content packs, this brings the total number of Extra Mussions to 150. Similar to those in the base game, some Extra Missions have variables that change depending on the difficulty selected. Every tenth Extra Mission introduced in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II DX is a [STORY] mission, meaning it begins and ends with a short conversation sequence; this was previously only used in downloadable DLC scenarios.

A total of 40 Extra Missions were released as part of the three main downloadable content packs for the original release of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II: the Blue Division Content Pack, Cauldron Content Pack, and Koala Forest Content Pack. Just as they were originally, the Extra Missions are prefixed with the name of the content pack they were initially included in (i.e. "Koala Forest Extra"), and no changes have been made to any of them. These Extra Missions are located on a third page, separate to those from the base game and those added in the DX expansion. For information on the original 50 Extra Missions included in the base release of Dream Tank Match II, see here.

Anchovy: Ah! You're here! El: Anchovy! Thank you so much for the invitation! Anchovy: We can't have a Panzerfahren-Food Festival without Blue Division! Carpaccio: It's a shame Waffle Academy couldn't make it today. Viridiana: I was really hoping to having some of their rijsttaartje again, too. Anchovy: It can't be helped if they're busy. We'll just have to show them how much we've grown next time! Tristana: So should we do the usual now, then? Pepperoni: Let's fight to see who gets to use the kitchen first! All: Yeah!

Carpaccio: We did our best but we couldn't match them. El: That was a great match, Anzio. Anchovy: Yeah, you have all gotten a lot stronger! Pepperoni: Nee-san, I'm exhausted. And hungry. Carpaccio: Pepperoni... Viridiana: (laughs) Don't worry about it. We're up first! El: Right. Come on girls, let's whip up some migas to start! Tristana: Leave it to us!

El: Hello Kuromorimine. Thanks for training with us. Koume Akaboshi: It's nice to see you girls again. Viridiana: I don't see Nishizumi anywhere. Is she okay? Erika Itsumi: ! Erika Itsumi: She's... busy today. Tristana: Busy? Leila Rou: Come on, Erika, you don't have to be so jumpy. She's just visiting her sister. Erika Itsumi: I know that! I just... didn't get much sleep last night. Viridiana: I don't think you should be worried about disappointing your commander. Tristana: Right. Kuromorimine's strong, even without a Nishizumi commanding it. El: And that's why we won't lose this match. Even if it's training, you've got to give it your all! Emi Kojima: You all have so much energy.
Outro Transcript
Erika Itsumi: We... lost? El: That was a great match. We learned a lot, right girls? Viridiana: Right. Erika Itsumi: Commander, I'm sorry for disappointing you like this. Maho Nishizumi: You didn't disappoint me at all, Erika. Erika Itsumi: Maho!? Maho Nishizumi: I'm sorry I missed the training session El. Tristana: Nishizumi, you've trained your team well. We wouldn't have been able to beat them if we didn't get lucky today. Maho Nishizumi: Nonsense, you girls are very strong too. If you wouldn't mind, perhaps we could have another match once repairs are done here? El: Of course!

Kay: Hello, everyone at Blue Division! El: Hello again Kay. Tristana: We've been looking forward to this rematch! Alisa: I don't know why. We beat you pretty badly last time. Naomi: I wouldn't say that. We only had the advantage with the battleground. El: We've grown a lot since the Continuous Cup. Recreating the conditions of that battle would be a good way to test our skills, right? Kay: Can't argue with that! Naomi, Alisa! Get ready for battle! Naomi and Alisa: Yes ma'am! El: Viridiana, Tristana, let's do this! Viridiana and Tristana: Right!
Outro Transcript
Viridiana: We won? Tristana: We beat Saunders! Kay: Congratulations! That was a lot of fun, girls! Naomi: I can't believe you got so much stronger in such a short period of time. El: We trained with Anzio and Kuromorimine just for today. Alisa: You fought Maho just so you could beat us? Viridiana: Actually Nishizumi destroyed us in that second battle. Kay: Well, we aren't Anzio, but how about we get some food now? El: We could cook something up for you guys, as thanks for this practice match. Tristana: It's a good thing we brought our cooking supplies. Kay: Oh yeah! Thank you!

Wallaby: Thank you for inviting us to your practice session, everyone! Kay: Ah Koala Forest! We're willing to train with you whenever you want! Darjeeling: Indeed. Do you know this saying? "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." Orange Pekoe: That's Henry Ford. Platypus: I don't quite understand. Rosehip: Me neither. Wallaby: What she means is that there is no greater weapon than teamwork, right? Platypus: Isn't that a given? Alisa: Maybe we should just get this started, then?

Darjeeling: Excellent work Saunders, Koala Forest. You did quite well today. Kay: Thank you Darjeeling! This was a lot of fun. Wallaby: I can't help but feel as though we fell behind today. Koala: ... Wallaby: Our commander says so too. Kay: Oh wow, a koala! So cute! Assam: You girls did a fine job today. You exceeded all of the expectations I had for you based on my data. Darjeeling: Do you know this saying? "A friend should always underestimate your virtues and an enemy overestimate your faults." Orange Pekoe: That was Mario Puzo. Platypus: Thank you for the advice, Miss Darjeeling! Alisa: Are we just going to ignore the fact that their commander is a koala? Naomi: Just forget about it.

Wallaby: Alright! Another day of training with St. Gloriana and Saunders. Darjeeling: I expect great things from you all today. Kay: I'm excited for this, too! Anchovy: Hey! Darjeeling! Sorry we're late! Platypus: Anzio? Orange Pekoe: Anchovy was actually the one who invited us here today. Wallaby: Is that so? Anchovy: Ah, it's Koala Forest! We wanted to thank you for selling us some of your unused tanks. Wallaby: So that's what this is all about then. Pepperoni: Just let us know if you have any more Carro Veloce for sale! Platypus: Sorry. We sold you all of the Italian tanks we had. Pepperoni: Aw man. Sorry nee-san, guess we won't be getting anymore tanks today. Anchovy: That's fine. After all, today we came for practice, not purchasing! Carpaccio: It's not like we could afford them, anyway.

Assam: I must say, both schools keep exceeding my expectations with each battle. Darjeeling: Indeed. Lately it seems all of the schools are getting a lot stronger. I imagine we have her to thank for that. Pepperoni: What are you chatting about over there. Wallaby: That was a great match! We learned a lot, today! Platypus: Yeah, that was a lot of fun! Thanks Darjeeling. Darjeeling: Any time either of you wish to train, we'll gladly join you. Anchovy: I wish we could train more often, but repairs are expensive. Anchovy: Enough about that. Girls, it's time for the Anzio special! Platypus: The Anzio special? Anchovy: After all of our matches we throw a party to thank everyone involved. It's Anzio's Panzerfahren! Darjeeling: (chuckles) Perhaps I should cook some fish and chips for you next time, then. Orange Pekoe and Assam: ! Pepperoni: That sounds great! Kay: I didn't know you could cook, Darjeeling! Why don't you come to our ship afterwards, then? Orange Pekoe: Sorry Kay. We're.. uhh... Assam: We're, uhh, busy after this. Kay: Oh man.

Kinuyo Nishi: Koala Forest! Thank you for inviting us for a training match! Wallaby: Chi-Ha-Tan, I wanted to apologize. We underestimated you during the Continuous Track Cup. Today, we will rectify that mistake. Kinuyo Nishi: And we will show you all that we have learned since, right Fukuda? Fukuda: That's right! We are ready for this rematch! Hosomi: We will show you all the different charges we have come up with! Haru Tamada: Charging is the only way to victory! Platypus: I guess the commander was right about them. Wallaby: Very well, Chi-Ha-Tan. We look forward to this battle!

Platypus: We won! Fukuda: Fukuda is sorry for this failure! Kinuyo Nishi: Fukuda, Tamada, Hosomi. You all did great in this battle. You did too, Koala Forest. Wallaby: Thank you Nishi. You all really have grown since the last time we fought. Platypus: Even though we were cautious this time, the battle was still very difficult. Wallaby: Ah, excuse me for a moment. I must get the commander. It's time for his lunch. Kinuyo Nishi: The commander? Platypus: Our commander is very wise. And very lazy. Kinuyo Nishi, Haru Tamada, Hosomi: A koala!? Fukuda: Ah! Lady Duck was right! Wallaby: Sorry we did not introduce you earlier. Meet our commander. Haru Tamada: Can I pet him? Kinuyo Nishi: That's their commander! Show some respect, Tamada! Apologies, Koala Forest. Platypus: Why do so many people want to pet our commander?
The DLC characters included in the Anzio Additional Character Pack can now be controlled in Domination Mode, though the dialogue remains unchanged and thus they do not appear in conversations. Additionally, due to the introduction of the M13/40, a tank which Anzio is known to have but lacks the funds to restore, some of the new playable characters now default to using that tank instead of the Carro Veloce CV.33. The other new characters of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and Bonple High School have also been included as members of those teams as well, though one of these additional characters appear in conversation segments and instead only appear in battle.
A major change to Domination Mode comes in the form of additional tanks for both Jatkosota High School and West Kureoji Grona Academy. Both of these schools now feature five tank rosters as opposed to only a single tank, though the conversation segments remain unchanged like those of all schools. Instead of them being labelled as more challenging than other schools, the player can now choose to play any school in "Challenge Mode", where they are limited to only one tank per battle while all of their opponents have five.
Additionally the DX expansion also changes Jajka's tank from a 7TPjw to the newly-added Archer for Domination Mode.
The updated rosters for Domination Mode are as follows:

Another major change comes for teams with unnamed characters who command tanks not otherwise playable in this mode. Players can now choose to command any of the tanks in their school's roster that an unnamed NPC would otherwise control, with the school's overall commander being the character in command of this tank. This allows the player to control the following tanks in this mode (in addition to those in the table above), which were previously unusable by certain schools:
With the introduction of the 7TPdw, the player can also control that tank when playing through Domination Mode as Bonple High School, as one of the unnamed commanders that fill out that team's roster now commands that tank instead of a 7TPjw. Similarly, the StuG III used by Count High School has been changed from an Ausf. F to an Ausf. G, matching the model the school is known to use canonically. Maple High School has also had their Churchill and Firefly replaced with the Canadian Grizzly I and Ram Mk.II; while the school canonically uses all four of these tanks, the latter two were chosen as the school is designed after Canadian motifs.
Commander Abilities[]
Commander Abilities are a form of temporary power-up that can be activated at any time during a match. All characters have two Commander Abilities: one that changes depending on the character chosen, and one that all characters share. The following table lists the Commander Abilities for only the characters included as part of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II; those whose names are written in italics are characters who had previously been released as DLC and thus only included as part of the "complete" version of the DX expansion.
For more in-depth information on Commander Abilities and how they work, see here.
Commander Abilities
Character(s)
Recharge Rate
Commander Ability
All characters
Moderate
Increases the tank's defence slightly for a short period of time, with the tank not taking any damage from the first hit after the ability is activated.
Alvina Terauchi
Moderate
Shells fired by the user travel at a much higher speed, and deal more distance the further they travel. Players also gain the ability to zoom in through the scope a second time, allowing them to be more accurate in where they are aiming.
Amber Ricotta
Moderate
The tank's maneuverability and speed increases significantly for a short amount of time, at the cost of weaker treads.
Ange le Carré Natsumi Sofue
Moderate
Increases the grip that the user's tank treads have on the ground, making it less likely for the tank to rise off the ground when going over uneven terrain. Also increases maneuverability a small amount, and makes the tank treads more difficult to destroy.
Bauer Panettone
Slow
The user's attack raises for a short amount of time. During this time, enemy weak points are highlighted.
Beatrice Kunihiro Viktoria
Moderate
The user sends the enemy fake location indicators. These remain in place for a short period of time, or once enemies have approached them and seen through them being fake.
Bologna Kubota
Moderate
Moderately increases the user's defence while stood still and steadies the cannon of the user's tank while moving. The user's attack will also be lowered a fair bit, however.
Charlotte Haruka Endou Madeleine
Moderate
Increases the defence of the user's tank but only if there are any allies nearby. The more allies within the small radius, the greater the effect of the ability. Any allies within range will also have a boost in their defence.
Chise Tōdō Hamada
Moderate
The user's attack raises greatly while moving, but lowers while still.
Dorothy Rei Kodai
Slow
Increases the user's power, speed, maneuverability, and defence for a short period of time. The user's location is indicated to all enemies and they are unable to perform perfect reloads while this ability is active, however. If three tank commanders use this skill simultaneously, they will all receive a greater boost in damage output.
Earl Grey
Slow
Temporarily increases the attack power of all allied tanks (including the user's) a moderate amount, but also lowers the team's defence.
Ekaterina
Moderate
Displays the tread marks of enemy tanks on the ground, allowing the user to see where enemies have been and thus locate them easier.
El Enami Pierogi
Moderate
Marks the location of one enemy tank, no matter their position on the field, and indicates their weak spots to the user for a moderate amount of time.
Gelato Nagura
Moderate
Prevents the tank's treads from being destroyed for a short period of time and slightly increases maneuverability.
Hibiki Inatomi Remi Takashima
Moderate
Randomly selects another commander ability to use. The ability differs with each use.
Hirono Mauko
Slow
Notifies the location of the tank to all enemies, but greatly increases the user's damage output, movement speed, and maneuverability for a short period of time.
Ikeda Tristana Wakasugi
Slow
Greatly increases the rate at which shells are loaded for a short period of time and increases the amount of damage dealt by shells that are perfectly reloaded during this time.
Isabe Robiola
Moderate
Highlights the weak points of enemy tanks to all allies for a moderate amount of time.
Jinko Yoshinaga
Slow
Marks the location of all enemy tanks to the user for a moderate amount of time. After a period of time following the activation of this ability however, the user's tank will be indicated to the enemy as well.
Kanbara Kaoru Saeki
Fast
Causes the tank to charge forwards a short distance at a high speed, dealing damage to the first enemy the tank may crash into. The tank can only charge forwards; until the charge ends, the user is unable to change direction. "Go, supersonic prince!"
Kanon Sasagawa Taiga Ou
Moderate
Sets up a recon balloon that displays the location of all enemy tanks. This recon balloon lasts for a moderate amount of time, though enemies can destroy it to end its effects prematurely and it floats above the user's tank to make it more noticeable from a distance.
Koharu Sakai Maiko
Moderate
The user's defence greatly raises for a short amount of time. During this time, enemy weak points are highlighted.
Lili Nogata
Moderate
Gives the tank a speed boost for a short period of time. The user can also perform drifts without damaging their tank's treads while this ability is active.
Lisa
Moderate
Makes the timing for perfect reloads more lenient for a moderate amount of time in addition to increasing the rate at which shells are loaded.
Natalia
Slow
Prevents the user's tank from being marked by enemies and greatly increases the tank's maneuverability. Against other players, this ability also temporarily disables the ability to lock-on to the user's tank while the effect is active.
Nishihara Viridiana
Fast
Lessens the amount of noise made by the tanks of the user and any allies within a close enough distance, making it easier to hear enemies. The user's tank also gains a slight speed boost as well.
Oleo
Moderate
Increases the user's attack a moderate amount but only while undetected by enemies. The effects last for a short amount of time, which depletes even should the effects be inactive due to the user's location being known to enemies.
Olga
Moderate
Loads a high-explosive shell as the next projectile. This shell deals far more amount of damage, and negates the ability to deal scratch damage. The HE shell's trajectory differs from normal shells however, making it difficult to target distant enemies.
Platypus
Moderate
Increases the rate at which shells are loaded for a short period of time.
Polina
Slow
Increases the rotation speed of the user's turret a significant amount and increases the Action Gauge of all allies by a small amount.
Ren Maaru Wallaby
Moderate
The user's attack power is reduced a moderate amount, but the user reloads each shell at a much greater rate for a short period of time.
Sei Takizawa
Slow
Causes the tank to be repaired, restoring a small amount of health. The cannon can not be fired while repairs are occurring however.
Sofiya Trout
Slow
Temporarily increases the attack of the user and all nearby allies a moderate amount. The user's speed is temporarily lowered when this ability is used however.
Teramoto
Slow
The user places a speaker on the ground that plays music. The speaker causes enemies to lock-on to it automatically when they are close enough, but it can also be destroyed by foes in only a single shot. The music will continue playing for a short period of time, at which point the speaker will disappear; this time limit is less than the recharge timer, making it impossible for one player to place down multiple speakers.
Touko
Fast
Commences "Operation Macaroni Zwei": a fake wall patterned with either a brick wall or vending machine design appears in front of the user's tank. The wall can be destroyed in a single shot from both friend and foe, though it does absorb the shell and thus can also be used as a shield. The Action Gauge drains fully immediately upon use, and the user can summon a second decoy while the first one is still on the field; should they try to place a third however, the first one placed will crumble.
Yano
Fast
The user's reload speed increases slightly for a short amount of time. During this time, enemy weak points are highlighted.
Zoya
Fast
The user loads a blank for their next shell. This shell deals no damage but can be used to push both allies and enemies around. The shell following this one will also reload at a greater speed.
One day, several team commanders get together in order to reminisce about past events. When Anzu Kadotani exclaims that Ōarai was only saved because they were lucky enough to have Miho Nishizumi transfer in when she did, they begin to wonder what would have happened if Miho had transferred to another school instead. Though Anzu brushes this off right away believing that they wouldn't have stood a chance, Darjeeling suggests otherwise and the group begin to imagine how these battles could have played out.
The plot is implied to take place after the events of Dream Tank Match II as some characters who hadn't met previously are aware of each other, but the original story is never directly mentioned.
In addition to adding in new tanks, the DX expansion now also conflates Tankettes and Light Tanks into a single category. Thus the Carro Veloce CV.33, Customized Type 97 Te-Ke, and other tankettes released as DLC are now found alongside the Light Tanks instead of following the Tank Destroyers. Due to the introduction of the 7TPdw, the 7TP present in the base game has also been renamed to "7TPjw".
The following tanks are included in addition to the 63 weapons the player could use in the base game. A list of the tanks included in the original release can be found here.
Deluxe Tanks[]
The following tanks are new to the DX expansion of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II.
These new versions are, in terms of stats, identical to those included in the base game. The difference between the original tanks and these second versions are that they all, by default, feature different paint jobs and aesthetics that can be changed. While the paint jobs used by the M3 Lee and PzKpfw 38(t) were available in the base game, the StuG III uses a new paint job that was previously unavailable while the Type 89B features details that are layered atop any chosen paint job. This new version of the StuG III also includes standing flags that can neither be removed nor included on any other tank. All of these designs are based on the initial designs of the tanks used by Ōarai for their battle against St. Gloriana in Episodes 3 and 4 of the original Girls und Panzer anime series. To differentiate these new versions from the ones included in the base game, these four tanks' names are appended with "(Debut)".

Complete Tanks[]
The following sixteen vehicles were previously included in the three major downloadable content packs released for Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II: the Blue Division Content Pack, Cauldron Content Pack, and Koala Forest Content Packs.
Note:The TK used by Team ONI is a tank that could not be used in official Panzerfahren matches, as the rules prohibit certain modifications that the TK has had made to it. This is overlooked for the purpose of Dream Tank Match II DX however. It should be noted that, as this tank was originally included in a DLC package based around the Tankathalon sport from Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior, this tank would in fact be legal according to that sport's single rule: that tanks must weigh less than 10 tonnes.

This section may contain spoilers for a variety of different media. Please be aware of this when reading character descriptions, especially.
Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II includes the entire roster from the base game on top of new several new characters. In addition to adding in some of the more minor characters from Girls und Panzer Das Finale and several spin-off manga series (namely Ribbon Warrior and Phase Erika, with one new character from Little Army 2), the DX expansion prominently introduces characters that debuted in the Girls und Panzer: Saga of Pravda manga which went previously unrepresented. Several of the former students of Pravda Girls' High School are introduced into the game, as are the four members of the Russian Armed Forces that debut in Chapter 7 and the former commander of St. Gloriana Girls College.
Two new groups of characters are introduced in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II DX: Gilbert Girls' High School and the Russian Armed Forces.
On top of including a number of new characters into the game, the DX expansion also properly writes out Oryou's name as "Oryō", strengthening the reference of her nickname to Ryō Narasaki.
The following characters are available exclusively through the DX expansion of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II. Five characters who originally appeared in the base game in non-playable roles are now playable. They all do not feature default tanks due to the fact that they do not practice Panzerfahren, though take on the role of tank commander by default.
Ōarai Girls' Academy
Ōarai Girls' Academy
Taiga Ou is a member of Ōarai Girls' Academy's Broadcasting Club. A highly energetic girl, Taiga goes about every day looking for potential scoops she can cover for the school's news program. Because of the prominence of Ōarai's Panzerfahren, Taiga can be found on the scene of many matches, narrating from the sidelines for those not in attendance. In addition to being extremely passionate about her job, Taiga is also a wily businesswoman who, for the right price, sells fake school ID cards and uniforms for people wanting to spy on Ōarai's Panzerfahren team.
"Gale" Earl Grey was the former commander of St. Gloriana's Panzerfahren team, who was succeeded by Darjeeling after her graduation. Though she publically upholds the refined traditions of St. Gloriana Girls College, Earl Grey has a notorious reputation among the members of her team for being a strange and eccentric individual. Earl Grey is known to be trouble, as she is often late for appointments (including matches) and tends to imitate the characters of films she has recently watched; thus her personality is known to fluctuate frequently. One consistent facet of Earl Grey is her tendency to inappropriately interact with her subordinates; this is most notable in the treatment of her successor Darjeeling, as she often tries to raise the first-year girl's skirt in order to embarrass her. Despite her wild nature however, Earl Grey is a talented commander whose fast fighting style is the basis of her nickname.
Reni Uraji, better known by the nickname Ekaterina, is a former student of Pravda Girls' High School. Ekaterina is highly respected by the other third-year members of Pravda during the year of the 61st National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, primarily due to her excellent tactical knowledge and her great communication abilities. However, despite this respect, Ekaterina lacks spirit and doesn't truly desire claiming victory in tournaments, always content with coming in second place to Kuromorine Girls' Academy. Due to this Ekaterina relies heavily on defensive strategies in battle, and she has difficulty being flexible should these strategies need to be rethought.
Default tank: IS-2 || Default role: Tank commander
Ruiko Aragusa, also known as Olga, is a former member of Pravda Girls' High School's Panzerfahren team. Ever since childhood, Olga had been the best friend of Ekaterina, and thus she was chosen to act as vice-commander when the latter was promoted to the team's leader. Despite being a talented gunner, Olga considers herself a mediocre practitioner of Panzerfahren and thus makes it her duty to act more as the glue holding the team together. Olga is kind and supportive of both her childhood friend and her other allies - this extends even to the first-year Katyusha who managed to humiliate the third-years by beating them in battle at the beginning of the year, despite the fact that the other third-years held a grudge against the first-years for this.
Shieru Herikusu, more commonly referred to as Polina, was a student of Pravda Girls' High School. Similar to Katyusha, a first-year student who enrolled in Pravda during Polina's third year, Polina is often mistaken for being quite childish due to her short stature. Polina is incredibly feisty and easy to anger, often snapping at those who make the slightest mistake even should they attempt to apologize for it. At the beginning of her third year, Polina was beaten up by three first-year students (who attempted to do the same to Katyusha earlier); this led to the third-years challenging the first-years to battle in an act of revenge, only for the first-years to win and humiliate them.
Default tank: T-34/85 || Default role: Tank commander
Natalia was the nickname of Fumie Kame, a former student of Pravda Girls' High School. During her third year at Pravda, Natalia officially held the title of commander, though she only held the position in all regards for a brief period of time. Natalia is known for being a friendly and cheerful girl whose generally-innocent appearance causes others to be defensive of her; thus Natalia also wants to protect others to a great degree. During her short time as commander, Natalia had no desire to actively force the members of her team to train diligently, believing instead that simply having fun fighting tanks was more important. After being defeated and scolded by the second-years that trained under Katyusha and members of the Russian Armed Forces, Natalia passed her title down to Katyusha with the belief that her spirit could bring change to the contentment of Pravda's Panzerfahren team. She is famed for her ability to flee from any situation without sustaining damage, a talent which earned her the nickname "Natalia the Escapist."
Default tank: T-34/85 || Default role: Tank commander
Shinobu Gouri, or Lisa, was a student of Pravda Girls' High School. During her third year at Pravda, Lisa briefly acted as the vice-commander of Pravda's Panzerfahren team under Natalia, her closest friend. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable in military history and tactics, and is generally considered to be a highly intelligent individual in every regard. Despite knowing a great deal, Lisa however likes to mess with Natalia, and often tells her extremely strange lies just to see how her friend will react.
Mauko is the nickname used by the commander of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy's Maus. A polite and friendly girl by nature, Mauko is not one to react well to stressful situations and will snap at her allies and panic when under pressure. Still, she gets along fairly well with some of the other tank commanders of Kuromorimine - most notably Emi Kojima, Sangou, and Geshiko - and the four of them often hang out together. Mauko has a love for chocolate and isn't particularly picky about sweets, claiming that she will enjoy them "as long as they are edible". Following the 63rd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament Mauko developed a strong hatred for the Type 98B after it was used by Ōarai to defeat her tank; she holds a particular grudge against Noriko Isobe and Akebi Sasaki as well, whom she yelled at during their battle.
Default tank: Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus || Default role: Tank commander
Ren Maaru is a student of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy. During her first year after enrolling in the prestigious school, Ren held the position of Maho Nishizumi's vice-commander. Though she was immediately replaced when Miho Nishizumi enrolled the following year, Ren held no grudge against either sister, and actually preferred not having any responsibilities. Ren is widely considered to be Kuromorimine's best gunner, though her skills still lack in comparison to Nonna of Pravda and Naomi of Saunders, and she holds great pride in her skills. During the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament Maho chose Ren to act as the gunner of her Panzer II, making her one of the three members of Team Nibelungen.
Default tank: Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. F || Default role: Tank commander, gunner
Natsumi is a senior member of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team, being in the same class as Ren Maaru and Maho Nishizumi. Despite not holding the position of commander or vice-commander, Natsumi is often the one who trains the newer members of the team, drilling into their heads the basics of the Nishizumi Style. Though she would become a backup member of the team later on in her second year, Natsumi is incredibly knowledgeable about the potential of tanks and was easily able to judge the pros and cons of both Kuromorimine and Jatkosota's forces during a match. Natsumi participated as one of the three members of Team Nibelungen during the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, fighting alongside Maho and Ren as the driver of their Panzer II.
Default tank: Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. F || Default role: Tank commander, driver
Bauer is a member of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy's Panzerfahren team. Recognizable by the medical eyepatch she always wears, Bauer is a fairly quiet girl whose tactical knowledge is among the best at Kuromorimine. She serves as the commander of a Panther on Kuromorimine's main force, and also fights on the school's Tankathalon team Schwarzwald Kampfgruppe in one of the school's Panzer II tanks.
Hamada is a student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. Like the other members of Chi-Ha-Tan's Panzerfahren Team, Hamada is a hotblooded girl who swears by the school's tradition of charging headlong into battle without a second thought. However, while she strives to uphold this way of thinking, Hamada is significantly more tame compared to her teammates. Fairly docile and quiet, Hamada has a complex about her hair, believing it impossible for her to style her hair in a way that satisfies her. Because of this, Hamada has a one-sided rivalry of sorts with Hosomi, whose hair is perfect at all times. Hamada is frequently seen wearing a helmet in order to cover her hair, a trait she shares with Fukuda.
Default tank: Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha || Default role: Tank commander
Ikeda is a member of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy's Panzerfahren team. Chi-Ha-Tan prides itself on their offensive fighting style which is based around charging into battle without a second thought. Like most of the other members of Chi-Ha-Tan's team, Ikeda strives to uphold this way of thinking, believing that any situation should be approached in a straightforward (and honourable) manner. Ikeda also has a great love for sweets, and once wondered if Hosomi kept doughnuts inside her swirling hairstyle.
Default tank: Type 97 Chi-Ha || Default role: Tank commander
Kubota is a student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and a member of the school's Panzerfahren team. While Chi-Ha-Tan is known for the school's traditionally brash and impulsive combat style based around charging straight towards foes, Kubota errs more on the side of caution compared to her teammates. Indeed, while most members of Chi-Ha-Tan's team uphold the honourable traditions, Kubota instead goes against these ideas by properly keeping an eye on her surroundings and the positions of her teammates. During the battle between Ōarai and Chi-Ha-Tan during the Winter Continuous Track Up, Kubota was one of the few Chi-Ha-Tan students to see through Ōarai's plans to lure them into a muddy trench and bombard them from above; though her warnings went unheard by her allies.
Default tank: Type 97 Chi-Ha || Default role: Tank commander
Nagura is a member of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy's Panzerfahren Team. Chi-Ha-Tan is infamous for its Panzerfahren tradition of impulsively charging towards enemies (which often results in the school's defeat), and Nagura is among many of the Chi-Ha-Tan students who believes that this is honourable and the best way for Chi-Ha-Tan to fight. Nagura is however somewhat more clever and perceptive compared to some of the other students who share this way of thinking, as she often notices (usually too late) that their charging strategies are failing and tries to warn her teammates to not make the same mistakes.
Default tank: Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha || Default role: Tank commander
Nishihara is a student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. Like most other members of Chi-Ha-Tan's Panzerfahren team, Nishihara believes the honourable thing to do is to charge into battle without reservation, a tactic that is often suicidal as it rarely ends in success. During the Winter Continuous Track Cup, where Chi-Ha-Tan introduced new types of "charges" (which were, in reality, just normal military tactics), Nishihara slowly began to accept that impulsively charging into battle was not the best way to go about battles. Because of the amphibious nature of her tank, this made her one of Chi-Ha-Tan's greatest assets as they attempted a more hit-and-run approach.
Default tank: Special Type 2 Launch Ka-Mi || Default role: Tank commander
Teramoto is a student of Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and a member of the school's Panzerfahren team. Teramoto is a bubbly girl who is rarely seen without a large vintage camera, something she uses to both document Chi-Ha-Tan's Panzerfahren battles and show off her love of photography. Because Chi-Ha-Tan traditionally rushes into battle (often with poor results), Teramoto strives to uphold this so-called "honourable" fighting style; she is also in charge of playing music for Chi-Ha-Tan in order to boost their morale and warn enemies of their approach.
Touko is the former commander of Jatkosota High School's Panzerfahren team. Touko is known as the "Trickster" of Jatkosota High School due to her eccentric nature and lax character, something that causes strife both for her own team (in particular, her vice-commander) and those she fights against. Despite her wild personality with no self-control, Touko is an excellent tactician whose strategies have backed even Kuromorimine Girls' Academy into a corner on at least one occasion. This is particularly surprising considering Touko never attends practice sessions, only doing so whenever Jatkosota gets an offer for a match.
Default tank: T-34/76 || Default role: Tank commander
Lili was a student of Jatkosota High School, though has since graduated from the school. During her third year Lili served as the vice-commander of Jatkosota's Panzerfahren team, though due to the lazy nature of her superior, Touko, she instead acts more akin to the commander. Contrasting the eccentric Touko, Lili is a down-to-earth and cheerful girl who gets easily exasperated when it comes to Touko's tendency to avoid her responsibilities. Yet despite the fact that she is often annoyed by her, Lili holds great respect for Touko's abilities.
Haruka Endou is a student of Tatenashi High School. Though she has no interest in participating directly in Panzerfahren (or Tankathalon), she serves as the manager for the two members of Centipede Team. Haruka's main role is to earn funds for her team through the sale of merchandise, and it is also her duty to pay for the damages that the Centipede Team cause during battle. A business-savvy girl, Haruka shows that she genuinely cares for the two girls of Centipede Team, partly due to being a longtime friend of Rin Matsukaze, and tends to follow the two on whatever strange adventures Shizuka takes them on. Deep down however, Haruka believes that her friend has been "stolen" to some extent by Shizuka Tsuruki, but is quite happy that her friend has finally found enjoyment in life instead of merely going through each day like a phantom as she did previously.
Pierogi is a student of Bonple High School. A member of the school's Panzerfahren and Tankathalon teams, Pierogi is one of the students closest to Jajka and thus one of the regular members of the Tankathalon battles the school participates in. Like Uszka and Jajka, Pierogi is a stern individual who puts her full attention on the battle at hand, her focus never wavering from the task at hand. Compared to even Jajka (and especially Uszka), Pierogi is a very quiet individual who rarely speaks outside of when she needs to.
Jinko Yoshinaga is the current commander of Gilbert Girls' High School's Panzerfahren team. A year prior to the Commemorative Cup hosted at Ōarai, Jinko acted as the commander of Bellwall Academy's Panzerfahren team, though she transferred out to Gilbert after becoming tired of having to deal with the delinquents that made up Bellwall's team. Shocking her new teammates at Gilbert, Jinko acts fairly rude to her former Bellwall teammates and presents herself with an arrogant manner. She thinks lowly of the students of her old school, which is especially apparent in the fact that she used all of the same tactics against them during the Commemorative Cup, something which led to her team's swift defeat.
Kanon Sasagawa is the head judge for the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, being present at every official Panzerfahren match. Like her fellow judges, Kanon takes being a Panzerfahren judge extremely seriously, acting extremely professional while watching over a battle. The amount she takes care to act professionally is almost comical, generally acting too stoic and emotionless while on the job in an attempt to act as justly and unbiased as possible. Off duty, Kanon remains a strict individual who abides by the rules, but loosens up greatly whenever she begins ingesting alcohol. Kanon appears to hold some contemptment for her superior, Ami Chōno, as she is known to frequently impersonate her behind her back. Her ability to imitate Instructor Chōno is extraordinary, and she greatly resembles the JSDF Captain when she removes her glasses and pulls her bangs forwards.
Remi Takashima is one of the primary judges employed by the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation, and is present at virtually every official Panzerfahren match. Like her two partners Kanon Sasagawa and Hibiki Inatomi, Remi acts incredibly serious and professional while on-duty, striving to maintain a lack of bias in order to judge Panzerfahren matches completely fairly. However, while she is generally very professional (almost to a comical degree), she can also be somewhat whimsical during matches, and regularly uses her signal flags to converse with her fellow judges about what to do about meals. Whenever she is not judging a match however, Remi's professional demeanour mostly falls away and she shows herself to be incredibly kind and playful. She is known to humour the desires of some of the Panzerfahren participants, particularly playing along with Pravda Girls' High School's Nonna in believing the girl to be the mother of her commander, Katyusha. Of her own admission, Remi is not talented in Panzerfahren and took up being a judge in order to remain a part of the sport.
Hibiki Inatomi is one of the main judges who oversees every official Panzerfahren match under the jurisdiction of the Japanese Panzerfahren Federation. Like her close friends Kanon Sasagawa and Remi Takashima, Hibiki strives to uphold herself in a professional and unbiased manner, and takes her job of overseeing matches incredibly serious. She is more similar to Remi than she is Kanon, being known to converse with the former about dinner plans during matches, and humouring the participants of different Panzerfahren teams, hoping to entertain them just as they entertain her with their matches. Once she removes her gorget however, Hibiki becomes much more playful, and enjoys gossiping with her two fellow judges over alcohol.
Major General Viktoria is a member of the Russian Armed Forces, and the leader of the 9th Separate Tank Brigade. Viktoria has served in the military for a long time and has seen action on a number of different battlefields, though she dislikes speaking about the events she has seen. Despite her gruff exterior, Viktoria is a friendly woman with a great mind who trained Katyusha in a number of militant strategies. When Nonna first travelled to Russia with no knowledge about the country, it was Viktoria who picked her up first and taught her how to speak the language.
Viktoria's costumes:
Default: Military Uniform
Default tank: T-34/85 || Default role: Tank commander
Master Sergeant Alvina is a non-commissioned member of the 9th Separate Tank Brigade. Alvina was orphaned at a young age when her parents were killed in a war, and due to this she suffered the inability to properly communicate with others on an emotional level. Despite her past however, her friends in the military have allowed her to open up and teach her how to properly emote, and thus she has since become an overly-cheerful girl who hides a more-serious and strict personality beneath this optimism. Alvina is a noted Japanophile, and has travelled to Japan multiple times in order to see the sights and purchase anime collections and soundtracks.
Alvina's costumes:
Default: Military Uniform
Default tank: T-34/85 || Default role: Driver
First Lieutenant Zoya is a member of the Russian Armed Forces' 9th Separate Tank Brigade. Zoya's most prominent trait is her silence - she is said to speak so rarely that even her comrades have a hard time remembering what her voice sounds like. While this trait may cause her to come across as cold, Zoya's personality is quite the opposite as she is a fairly kind individual who genuinely cares deeply for those she is close to. She became close to Nonna when she was studying in Russia, and was one of the four soldiers that came to train the first-year students of Pravda Girls' High School's Panzerfahren team at the request of Katyusha and Nonna. Zoya is currently working as an engineer in weapon development, where she is assisting in the creation of an experimental new weapon.
Zoya's costumes:
Default: Military Uniform
Default tank: T-34/85 || Default role: Loader, radio operator
Captain Sofiya is a soldier of the Russian Armed Forces, and a member of the 9th Separate Tank Brigade. Sofiya is a rough and violent individual who is quick to anger, though she isn't a bad person at heart. At the request of Viktoria, Sofiya was forced to take Nonna in when the latter was studying in Russia, though she tried to force the Japanese girl away from her with unreasonable demands and daily training sessions. These attempts at distancing herself from Nonna backfired however, as she was one of the soldiers that came to aid Nonna in training the first-year students of Pravda's Panzerfahren team. Sofiya is a noted chainsmoker, though she tries to abstain from smoking too much in the presence of minors.
These characters were released for the original Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II in downloadable content packs. In addition to the 113 playable characters included in the base game, these characters are included within the roster should the player purchases the standalone version of the DX expansion or the Complete Deluxe Bundle DLC pack. For further information about these characters, see here.
In addition to several new characters being included on the game's roster, the DX expansion includes several new costumes for characters that had been included in the base game.
All of the students from Ōarai Girls' Academy (barring Shark Team) and Ami Chōno have a new Chibi Costume that gives them a super-deformed appearance.
Though not included in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II DX proper, a free update released for the Nintendo Switch version of the game alongside the DLC includes five new amiibo costumes. By scanning either of the Cat Mario or Cat Peach amiibo figures, the player can unlock similar cat costumes for each of the five members of Anglerfish Team based on those worn by the playable characters of Super Mario 3D World:
The DX expansion adds in several new maps on top of those from the base game. Many of these new maps are used in the expansion's story mode, and the rest are included in some of the new Extra Missions as well.
Stages:
River
The setting for the final match of the 62nd National High School Panzerfahren Tournament, the battlefield is a precarious rocky valley with a river running through it. The main valley area features several thin pathways along the edges of the cliffs, with players being able to fight one another from across the river. On both ends of this river are swampy badlands that allow for more traditional fighting styles.
Maginot Girls' High School and Kuromorimine Girls' Academy were pitted against each other for the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. The battleground for this fight was an area that heavily resembled the Ouvrage Schoenenbourg of France's Maginot Line. A partially-forested area, the battleground consists of several stone-built fortifications with flat roofs for tanks to climb up onto, offering a sense of verticality to the map. A long road lines the edge of the forest, where smaller fortifications stand as well.
Stages:
Fortification
Stages:
Snowy Forest
For the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, Pravda Girls' High School and Viking Fisheries High School fought one another in a frozen forested area. Tall fir trees dot a landscape covered in snow and ice, which makes the ground uneven in areas and slippery in others. The fir trees block sight lines making it difficult to fight at long distances, with only a few clearings available for multiple tanks to gather in.
For the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, Bonple High School faced off against Anzio Girls' High School in an abandoned urban area. In a stone-paved city centre, the battle takes place in-between rows of conjoined buildings that have long been left to rot. Some buildings have holes in them that give tanks a place to hide, and there are small alleyways blocked off by gates that can be destroyed by shots.
Stages:
Old Town
Stages:
Desert
During the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, Yogurt Academy and Jatkosota High School faced off in a desert area. This desert is mostly flat, making the battlefield one of the simplest to traverse. The few hills that dot the desert are fairly wide and small, making them easy to climb despite the sand.
Stretching between an urban centre and a small forested area rests a small road bridge. This bridge, which served as a pivotal point in the battle between St. Gloriana Girls College and Waffle Academy during the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, sits at the centre of the battleground. The urban area to the north consists of a variety of buildings (including a church) and organized streets, while the south features a more-rural environment that consists of uneven terrain and dotted with trees.

Complete Maps[]
Three maps were released as downloadable content for the original release of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II. These maps were included as part of the three major DLC content releases, which focused upon Blue Division High School, Koala Forest High School, and the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament. The Complete Deluxe Bundle also includes the 23 maps that were featured in the base game, which are detailed here.
The "Desert" map originally included in the Blue Division Content Pack for Dream Tank Match II has been renamed to "Stone Valley", and is the only stage with the distinction of being altered in any way from the original release of the game.
Stages:
Stone Valley
The battlefield is a rocky desert terrain, the same one where Blue Division was pitted against Saunders University High School for the first round of the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. The map contains many sharp hills and natural pathways that limit the amount of terrain that tanks can traverse easily, though these hills also provide cover that allow tanks to disappear easily should they wish to evade enemies.
Komoro is a city located in the Nagano Prefecture of Japan. The battle takes place within the streets of Komoro, though a large plains area with uneven terrain can also be accessed outside of the streets. The battlefield features both wide open areas and thin corridors that make it unique among the collection of other maps. A gas station is present in the city area that the player can destroy, detonating it to destroy any tanks within the vicinity. The location of Komoro served as the setting of the second round of the Cauldron Tankathalon Tournament, the 24-hour "Death Match of Komoro", due to the surrounding mountains essentially creating a bowl around the city.

Komoro
Stages:
Outback
During the 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup, Koala Forest High School was pitted against Chi-Ha-Tan Academy in the Australian outback. The battlefield is mostly flat, with slight dips and hills dotting the landscape in places. A large rocky plateau breaks up the horizon that is impossible to climb onto.
Despite officially being referred to as Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II DX, the Japanese logo and several Japanese marketing for the expansion instead title it ガールズ&パンツァー:ドリームタンクマッチ II デラックス (Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II Deluxe). This somewhat mimics the Nintendo Switch release of the original Dream Tank Match, which similarly wrote out デラックス across the "DX" included in the logo.
With the introduction of Hamada, Ikeda, Kubota, Nagura, Nishihara, and Teramoto as playable characters, Blue Division's Andalusia remains the only named student to both participate in official Panzerfahren matches and make a voiced appearance in a Girls und Panzer animated project not to be playable. This is due to the fact that Andalusia has no official character design, as her voice is heard announcing to her commander (El) that they have been eliminated during their battle against Saunders University High School. According to her short profile on the official website for Girls und Panzer das Finale (right): Andalusia is the commander of a PzKpfw II Ausf. F and shares her voice actress - Mami Ozaki - with Hana Isuzu.
Aside from Andalusia, the only other named female characters who do not make a playable appearance in Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match II DX are Hisako Reizei, Yuri Isuzu, and Yoshiko Akiyama; the grandmother of Mako Reizei and the mothers of Hana Isuzu and Yukari Akiyama, respectively.
Mauko joins Helmet-chan as one of the only two playable characters not to have an official name. Like the aforementioned Saunders student, "Mauko" is simply a nickname given to the Maus commander by fans; this nickname is both a play on "Maus Kommandant" ("kommandant" being German for "commander") and the suffix "-ko" often appended to Japanese names in order to make them feminine (hence "Maus Girl"). Like Helmet-chan, Mauko's appearance as a playable character is due to her popularity among other nameless "mob" characters.
Oddly, none of the Kuromorimine students introduced in Girls und Panzer: Saga of Pravda appear as playable characters, despite the fact that characters from other affiliations (namely St. Gloriana Girls College, Pravda Girls' High School, and the Russian Armed Forces) do.
