Basic Gameplay
The game is played very similarly to the Super Smash Bros. series games. You are on a perfectly flat terrain and duke it out with other players. Depending on what mode you are playing on, it is different to defeat other players. You may need to attack them a set number of times or push them off the edge of the map.
Modes
Brawl
In Brawl, you just fight up to four other people for no reason whatsoever. The 1st place winner gets a coin reward of 1,000, 2nd place gets 500, 3rd 250, 4th 100, and 5th gets 25 coins. Coins can be spent to earn new stuff. However, only the player who earned the coins can spend their amount.
Story
In Story, you play an adventure similar to SSBB's Subspace Emissary. You unlock characters as you progress. The story is called, Threat of Antasma. The main villain, Antasma, is trying to rule the universe and stop the Epic Warriors, heroes who have united to stop him.
Missions
In Missions, you must complete a mission with special rules. For example, in the first mission, you must play as Luigi defeating Bowser in a 30 second time limit on the Bowser's Castle stage.
Vault
In the Vault, you can view photos you have taken, buy or view trophies, or listen to the music you have collected. Fun.
Classic
In Classic, you fight against every character on their home stage. This mode is unlocked when you earn at least one character per franchise, and one stage per franchise. For every franchise, you fight one character that you have unlocked on their home stage. Some have special conditions, like there being clones of 20 or having wings or having a partner. When you complete Classic, you must fight Antasma.
Characters
There is planned to be about 40 default characters.

---|---|---|---|---|
Luigi | The underdog of the Mario series, Luigi finally has the spotlight! He can use fireballs, the Poltergust 2000, and a hammer. | Boo Army | Mario Bros. | |
Rosalina | Rosalina is the majestic queen of space and the adoptive mother of all the star shaped Lumas. In battle, she can abuse--er, fight with...her Luma kid-things, by throwing them, making them fire Star Bits, and other cruel, motherly things. | The Faceship | Super Mario Galaxy | |
Paper Mario | This paper-thin version of the land's greatest hero (sorry, Luigi) is joining the battle. While the real Mario is unable to attend from the beginning, this Paper Mario can take his place! He can attack with his partners from previous journeys, as well as placing down stickers that hinder foes. | Crystal Stars | Paper Mario | |
Kirby | He's the one who sucks the most...in a good way. When Kirby does suck up an enemy, he gains that enemy's standard attack and look. | Ultra Sword | Kirby's Dream Land | |
Flygon | This epic Dragon-type is joining the fight! As a Dragon-type, he can use moves like Dragon Claw and Dragon Breath. He can also use Fly and Earthquake to attack opponents. | Draco Meteor | Pokémon Ruby & Pokémon Sapphire Versions | |
Sceptile | Sceptile is an amazing Grass-type beast who can use many moves to take down opponents. He can use moves such as Hyper Beam, Cut, Mega Drain, and Dual Chop to attack. However, being a Grass-type, he is pretty vulnerable to fire-types. | Frenzy Plant | Pokémon Ruby & Pokémon Sapphire Versions | |
Dipper & Mabel | These two twins are very experienced at fighting. When they fight, they're side by side. However, one of them takes control to perform moves while the other simply helps out. For example, if Mabel is in control when she performs her Epic Finish, she will summon Aoshima, while if Dipper is in control, he will summon the Multi-Bear. | Summon Aoshima/Multi-Bear | Gravity Falls | |
Unlockable Characters
There is planned to be about 60 unlockable characters. You can follow the criteria listed on the table to unlock characters, but they can be unlocked through Story mode by gaining them on your team.
