Dr. Kawashima is the host of the Brain Age series. His in-game persona (a floating polygonal head) is based on real-world neuroscientist Ryuta Kawashima, whose book Train Your Brain: 60 Days to a Better Brain inspired Brain Age.
In Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Dr. Kawashima appears as an Assist Trophy.
