Darkstalkers 4, also known as Vampire Ace in Japan, is the fourth installment in the Darkstalkers series.
Plot[]
The game takes place 6 years after Darkstalkers 3. in which Morrigan and Demitri are still fighting over full control of the Makai. however, an entity called Abyss has awoken from his slumber and has decided to gain control of both the Makai and the Human World.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is similar to Darkstalkers 3. However, several new mechanics have been introduced.
Modes[]
Story Mode[]
The player goes through a 16 chapter story mode:
- Ruby Heart - in the Makai, Abyss has finally unsealed himself after millennia and now he seeks revenge. Ruby, whose ancestors have sealed Abyss a millennia ago. Searches for possible Darkstalkers Abyss might go after.
- Abyss - after his encounter with Ruby Heart, Abyss hosts a tournament to test out anyone who could be a match for him. Going all out in hopes of taking out any and every possible threat to his plans.

- Fight different bosses in Stage 10
- Fight Shadow - Defeat Marionette with either an ES Attack or an EX Attack.
- Fight Dee - Defeat either Dark Talbain or Shin Bishamon with either an ES Attack or an EX Attack.
- Fight Pyron - Finish all 9 prior stages with an ES Attack without taking damage.
- Fight Jedah - Finish all 9 prior stages with an EX Attack without taking damage.
- Fight Abyss - fail to meet any of the requirements above.
- Unlock different characters(Vampire Soldier)
- Unlock Marionette - Defeat her in Arcade Mode with all 23 starter characters.
- Unlock Shadow - Defeat him in Arcade Mode with Marionette.
- Unlock Dark Talbain - Defeat him in Arcade Mode with Talbain.
- Unlock Shin Bishamon - Defeat him in Arcade Mode with Bishamon.
- Unlock Pyron - Beat Arcade Mode with Huitzil.
- Unlock Jedah - Beat Arcade Mode with Q-Bee.
- Unlock Donovan - then Beat Arcade Mode with Pyron after Jedah, Shadow, Dark Talbain and Shin Bishamon are unlocked.
- Unlock Lilith - Beat Arcade Mode with Jedah after Pyron, Shadow, Dark Talbain and Shin Bishamon are unlocked.
