The Crazy 8 as it appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Crazy8MK8

The original Crazy 8

The Crazy 8, sometimes written as Crazy Eight, is an item introduced in Mario Kart 8. Like the Lucky 7 in Mario Kart 7, the Crazy 8 gives eight various items when used, these being the Coin, Banana Peel, Green Shell, Red Shell, Dash Mushroom, Super Star, Bob-omb, and Blooper. Aside from the Coin, this item gives out the exact same items as the Lucky 7.

The Crazy 8 in Mario Kart 8 is depicted as a cyan blue number eight, shaped in lieu to a Möbius strip, very much like the 8 in Mario Kart 8's logo.

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Crazy 8 has been given a crimson hue to match the 8 in the logo of this deluxe version.

Game Appearances[]

Mario Kart series[]

Mario Kart 8 Rebuilt[]

In Mario Kart 8 Rebuilt, the Crazy 8 retains its function, though starting from this game, the Coin is replaced with the Blue Spiny Shell as the eighth item.

Koopa Kart series[]

Koopa Kart 8[]

The Crazy Eight is an item that first appears in the Koopa Kart series in Koopa Kart 8, where it can be obtained from 7th to 13th place. It functions like it does in Mario Kart 8, with the biggest difference being that the eighth item is a Fake Item Box instead of a Coin, as Coins are not an obtainable item from Item Boxes in this game.
