Chimecho, known in Japan as チリーン (Chirean), is a Psychic-type Pokémon, that debuted in Generation 3. It evolves from Chingling when leveled up with high happiness during the night.


Chimecho is a light-blue Pokémon with a round body and short arms. Chimecho has a horizontal red wave patter on ts bottom and a yellow growth on it's top. Chimecho has beady yellow eyes with no pupils.

These Pokémon can create soundwaves in the ultrasonic range and other noises. They use their echoing cries to attack or to communicate with others, there are seven distinctive cries that they can use. Chimecho usually live in grasslands and woods at night. They can also be found more rarely in mountainous regions. Their diet consists of berries, Chimecho can find food well due to their levitation skills.

Chimecho is based on a Japanese fūrin wind chime.

Chimecho is a combination of chime and echo.

Chirean is a combination of ちりんちりん chirinchirin (onomatopoeia for bell chiming) and 風鈴 fūrin (wind chime).
