Origin

Cataclysm is ovbiously inspired by Chat Noir from Miraculous Ladybug. Its yellow colored head resembles Adrien's hair and the mask-like face resembles Chat Noir's mask. Its Pokédex entry is based on a superstition where if anybody walks across a black cat is commonly used as bad luck and misfortune.

Name Origin

Cataclysm is derived from the Greek word kata (down, against) and klyzo (wash over, surge), which is commonly associated with natural disasters, which is the inspiration for Chat Noir's special superpower of the same name.
