Blaze the Cat is an anthropomorphic Cat from a separated dimension from Sonic. She is the secondary titular mascot of the Sonic Sol Trilogy behind Sonic, and has appeared in all three games as a major playable character.

Appearance[]

Blaze is a purple-furred anthropomorphic feline. Her attire is referred to as "casually regal"; a purple overcoat with white pants, white gloves and rustic red high heel shoes. She also has a golden necklace, and a small gemstone located on the center of her forehead.

History[]

Games[]

Sonic Sol: Rise of the Tiger King[]

Prior to the main game, Blaze the Cat had her kingdom under threat by both the mind of Eggman Nega, and the might of Fang the Tiger King. Most of the Sol Emeralds had been stolen from her, save for only two, which she then travels out of her own dimension in search for the "Wind Warrior", whom it is prophesized will stop them both from taking over her kingdom. On her arrival to Sonic's dimension, she quickly asks for Sonic's help in her mission. In the end, she allows him, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Comet the Hedgehog to come back with her, though she personally believes only Sonic is needed.

Upon doing this, the next following day, she further explains Fang's growing kingdom and sends them off to handle the threat. Later on, when informed of Sonic's arrest, she is shocked but only decides to go and help after being convinced to "make her faith work" by both Tails and Comet. With her help, they all manage to defeat both Eggman Nega and Fang the Tiger King. After this, she arrests Eggman Nega, and opens a portal to let Sonic and his friends return home.

Sonic Sol II: Starlight's Mask[]

Blaze has her own set story arc in the following game, with her partner being Sticks the Badger.

During one night in her kingdom, the Sol Emeralds got stolen from her by Shade the Echidna, and during the first fight with her she falls through the same portal Shade created, ending up back in Sonic's dimension. With the Sol Emeralds now within the same dimension, she makes it her goal to locate them all and return them back home. While on this mission, she runs into Sticks, who while she gets in a fight with at first, she allows her to accompany her on her mission since their goals seem to align with eachother. In this mission, she not only runs into Shade a number of times, but also runs into both Doctor Eggman and Knuckles the Echidna. These adventures lead her back to Sonic's hometown, where she helps defeat Shade and regain the Sol Emeralds.

During the last story, she is ambushed by Shadow the Hedgehog inside a warehouse, and while he initially wins their fight, she is knocked unconscious by the sore loser Hedgehog. She wakes up in Amy Rose's home, sharing what had happened with her and everyone else. Blaze, despite being weakened, still arrives at the Echidna Ruins once Chaos is released. She joins Knuckles, Tails, and Sonic in her super form to take down Chaos and defeat Shade once and for all.

Sonic Sol III: Traveler's Tales[]

Blaze returns to Sonic's Dimension for a third time on accounts of the Sol Emeralds acting strange, and thanks to Marine the Raccoon's insistence. During this stay though, she joins Sonic and friends in fighting off against Doctor Eggman, who's attempting to take over Lunar Bay. With the unexpected aid of Silver the Hedgehog, they manage to defeat the mech but at the "cost" of their friends disappearing. It is explained that her memory and detachment from time might have something to do with her connection to the Sol Emeralds. Seeing the new, bigger goal, she takes the time to check her prison, just to find Eggman Nega has already gone, From there, she joins Sonic and Silver in stopping Eggman Nega and the Mechanical Angel from destroying time.

She travels with them throughout time, aiding in wherever she can, and at the end of the game she completely disappears alongside everyone else once the timeline is permanently altered.

Personality[]

For her age, Blaze is a surprisingly mature and caring individual, fitting for her status as the current ruler of the Sol Empire.

Throughout Sonic Sol: Rise of the Tiger King, she was shown to be less active in the field, and more willing to rely on fate and friends to carry her and complete her missions, Fang the Tiger King referring to her as a spineless princess because of this. This became the main point of her character arc in the first game, as she learns to take matters into her own hands rather than fully relying on fate to help her. By the end of the first game she has grown more self-reliant, which is shown more in full in the next installment, Sonic Sol II: Starlight's Mask, when she willingly ventures out herself to relocate the Sol Emeralds after they got stolen by Shade.
