Battle for SMASH Island (BfSI for short) is an animated web series about a competition between multiple videogame characters to become the king of Smash Island. It is based in the animated series Battle for Dream Island.
Synopsis[]
The kingdom of Smash Island is celebrating a traditional succession game in order to choose the next king or queen of Smash Island. However, as per the traditions, each succession game must come with a unique game twist of the original game rules.
The game starts with the Smash Clash challenge, in which 100 aspiring contestants participate to become one of the 64 candidates for the game. The challenge is the only thing that has not been changed since the first succession game, and it is a race to reach the heart of Smash Island. Once the 64 characters are chosen, the game officially starts, in which there are two phases.
In this game's first phase, the multiple candidates for the king are grouped in different teams, who battle each other in different challenges across Smash Island. After each challenge, the team in first place gets to nominate three contestants of the loser team. Throughout a democratic vote, the nominee with the most votes is sacrificed in order to strengthen the "spirit of the games". Whenever some conditions have been met, the game will begin its second phase.
Although the main game gimmick has not been officially confirmed, it has been rumored to be a fetch quest.

All 65 confirmed characters from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will participate, although characters like Dr. Mario, Zero Suit Samus and Sheik are considered the same character as Mario, Samus and Zelda, respectively, and therefore they are merged as one single character. The trio of Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard; and the Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter, and Mii Gunner; will also be one single character: The Pokémon Trainer and one Mii Fighter.
The number of additional characters will be decided once the full roster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is confirmed, although some characters have already been confirmed as characters.
Hosts[]
The hosts are, as in the tradition, the current prince of Smash Island (Master Hand) and their royal counselor (Crazy Hand). Although it is a traditional custom that both personalities participate in the game, it seems like this time both characters have expressed their choice of not taking part in this edition of the succession game.
