Aritz Zorion is a human-Angsalvin hybrid orphan, the younger brother of the scoundrel Argider Zorion.

Appearance[]

Aritz is closer to a human than an Angsalvin, with his dark skin tone, regular eyes and mismatched colour scheme, though he retains the characteristic pointed ears and body markings of the Angsalvine. He has black hair, dark blue eyes and pale blue body markings.

His clothing can be described as a mix between Angsalvine and human attire. He wears a dark blue Angsalvin-like jacket with loose, more dull blue sleeves, human-like bluish trousers that are slightly short and shoes of a similar colour.

At times Aritz has been known to wear more typical human clothing to fit in, though he has yet to disguise as an Angsalvin, knowing that he couldn't make the disguise work.

Personality[]

Aritz is somewhat of a social recluse who prefers to stay at home studying, and is often ignored as a result of keeping to himself. When taken to action, however, he can often be fiercely emotional - Argider once described him as “a little bucket of emotion that you don't want to spill”.

Story[]

Aritz was born to a human father, Hodei Zorion, an Angsalvin mother, Lilita Tiribalt - a relationship that is considered a taboo in Angsalvine society. He was unable to live a normal life as he could be instantly found out as a hybrid, so Lilita hid herself and her children from sight for many years. When Aritz was two years old, however, Lilita was found out, and fearing judgement she gave her sons to Hodei and told him to run to his old home.

Although Hodei did return to his home country, he decided to live hiding in a forest with Argider and Aritz as he didn't want to be found out for loving an Angsalvin. After another three years, Hodei committed suicide for an unclear reason - the most likely answer, and the one Argider believes, was that he couldn't bear to keep such a great secret and deckded to end his life to escape it.

Argider was concerned for himself and Aritz, deciding to make a home for them in the branches of a tree concealed in the forest. However, with no means of providing for themselves, Argider decided that his only option was to take up thieving, sneaking into his father's hometown nightly to take what he and his brother needed to survive.

After some years Argider was captured and jailed when a heist went wrong. Aritz fled his home in dread, and ended up coming across a small community of other half-Angsalvine in the forest. Aritz spent some two years here, learning Angsalvine magic over time, until Argider broke out of prison and came to look for him. He invited Aritz to come back home with him, which he initially turned down due to being happy with his new life. His brother convinced Aritz that this half-Angsalvine community wasn't stable enough for him, however, which convinced him to stay with Argider again.

Since then, the brothers have managed to keep a stable living for eight years. Aritz has continued to study Angsalvine magic since then, mostly through books that were stolen by his brother.

Abilities[]

Object Manipulation[]

The magic of Ledus Angsalvine can be used to make inanimate objects fly in the air and conform to the spellcaster's will. Aritz is highly adept with this magic, generally manipulating the pages of his magic book as a means of self-defence.

Relations[]

Argider Zorion[]

Although Aritz disapproves of his brother's underhanded means of survival, the two generally have a healthy relationship with each other. However, Aritz knows rather little about his brother, as his reserved personality leads to him striking up conversation very infrequently, and thus giving him less chance to learn more.
