Gameplay[]
Animal Crossing games are life-simulation games where you are a human living in a rural town populated with anthropomorphic animals. The game is open-ended and the player is free to do whatever they want in their town. The passage of time in the game correlates to the real world time, as well as seasons and days following the same real world.
The player can travel around their town going to shops, interacting with other villagers etc. The player also has a menu which they can see the items they are currently holding as well as seeing extra things such as what collectables they have caught.
Collectables are also a main feature of the game. The player can go around their town catching fish, bugs and fossils. They can also be submitted to the Museum were they are put on display.
