The Amazing Flyin' Hammer Bro is no longer an enemy but a boss in Cloudy Canyon. It attacks by throwing giant hammers, and stomping on his flying blocks to generate electric shockwaves. Finally, the hammer bro grabs a giant hammer and slams it into the ground, leaving Mario paralysed from the shockwaves for 2 seconds. If Mario jumps at the correct time, he can dodge the shockwave and climb up the giant hammer to punch the hammer bro in the face. When the hammer bro is on the ground shell first, Mario must ground pound the hammer bro's chest. If Mario does this 3 times, the hammer bro will be defeated, And a color star will emerge from the flying blocks.
