In Splatoon 2, "Agent 3" is the name of a specific Inkling who appears solely in the Octo Expansion as a boss. In this continuity, Agent 3 is a "lost" Inkling who got separated from Captain Cuttlefish while e

xploring the Deepsea Metro. As "Agent 8", it's your job to find them. We say "them" because, at some point, Cuttlefish makes a missing poster of Agent 3, where you can determine the character's gender, skintone, and eye color; however, their "hair" color is locked as neon green for a female and purple for a male. You and Cuttlefish eventually get tricked into climbing into a blender, at which point Agent 3 appears to save you. At some later point, Agent 3 is "sanitized", and it's your job to defeat them to release them from the mind control. You can further fight against an "Inner Agent 3" by completing all tests in the Octo Expansion.

In Splatoon 3, they have become the new captain of the Squidbeak Splatoon, replacing Craig Cuttlefish. They, along with the Squid Sisters, assist the new Agent 3 with traversing through Alterna to find Cuttlefish, who has been captured.
