Aerith (エアリス, Aerith) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Life or Death.
Aerith Gainsborough is one of the main protagonists of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII Remake, serving as a party member of Cloud Strife. Compared to the others who make use of weapons, Aerith is a magic user, being able to heal as well as buff herself via her own Limit Breaks, a fitting move for her polite nature.
Aerith is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto in all versions of Life or Death, reprising the role from Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy VII Remake

- Get her to join your party in the Kiss of Death.
With the exception of the final task, completing one of the above will lead to Aerith challenging the player on Midgar. Defeating her unlocks her for regular gameplay.

Aerith's Fighter Spirit can be obtained by completing Classic Mode. It is also available periodically for purchase in the shop for 500 coins. Unlocking Aerith in The Kiss of Death allows the player to preview the first spirit below in the Spirit List under the name "???". As a Fighter Spirit, it cannot be used in Spirit Battles and is purely aesthetic. Each Fighter Spirit has an alternate version that replaces them with their artwork in Life & Death.
