— The Absorbing Man to ThorThe Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 8 (1x08) - Gamma World, Part Two (November 26, 2010)

Carl "Crusher" Creel was a boxer who went by the name Rocky Davis (named after his cousin), who led a double life as a criminal. He was eventually caught and imprisoned, where he caught the attention of the Norse trickster god Loki. Spicing his drinking water with a potion derived from Asgardian herbs, Loki granted Creel the ability to absorb and replicate the properties of any material he touched. Using his powers to break free from prison, Creel became the supervillain Absorbing Man, becoming a foe for Thor and the Incredible Hulk. He would later marry another supervillain, Mary MacPherran a.k.a. Titania.

Smash Bros x Avengers: Recharged[]

The Absorbing Man appears as a boss in Chapter 3: NYC. Here, he has taken Dr. Hank Pym hostage and must be defeated with the combined might of (many of) the Avengers and the Mario Bros. He is defeated and Pym is freed, only for the crew to be immediately met by a Dr. Octopus/Octorok hybrid.

Ultimate Showdown[]

Although no artwork or coding was ever done on him, the Absorbing Man was planned to appear in the 2010 battle royale game, Ultimate Showdown. The intention was to allow him to use his powers to convert into any material but the complexity of this and how it would work with the thousand + other characters left him virtually on the sidelines.
