The 3-Up Moon Block is a red Tap-Block that was first introduced in New Super Mario Bros. U and reappears in New Super Luigi U. This block is very rare and is hidden in places that are hard to reach. It can only be found by using the Wii U GamePad in Boost Mode. The player on the Wii U Gamepad must tap on the block to make it appear for other players, and players using a Wii Remote need to hit the block to obtain a 3-Up Moon. They should do so quickly, as the block will disappear soon after being tapped. One 3-Up Moon Block can be found in every level.
The 3-Up Moon Block is a red block with the 3-Up Moon placed onto it as decoration. It turns brown and inert when hit, like most Blocks.
The 3-Up Moon Block serves as a secret hidden objective to every level for those in Boost Mode, as Wii U gamepad players can tap the hidden block to reveal it's place for other players. It serves as a big boost to the lives count as well.
The 3-Up Moon Block is a Tap-Block that reappears in New Super Mario Bros. 5-Star Adventure 2's Assist Mode. When tapped, the block appears and when hit, hence the name, it gives out a 3-Up Moon for each of the players.
