It's been a while since I last posted an Ink Talks About CSS blog. Mostly, that's just been due to me being easily distracted by other projects. But I've been thinking about the blog series lately, and want to air one thought I had in particular to get some feedback on it.
The ultimate goal of the Ink Talks About CSS blogs is, of course, to lower the entry barrier for creating truly stylish pages (a la some of the more standout SSBUx pages, or... well, basically anything I've published in the past four years). Is CSS complicated? In some areas, yes. But it's not beyond understanding, and if an easily-distracted clown like me can become basically self-taught in the language, then so can anybody else on this site with just a little bit of effort.
But a little while ago, I started thinking about that "a little bit of effort" part, and realized that I'd been sort of neglecting people who haven't put in that little bit of effort yet - the folks who aren't interested in experimenting with the Source Editor, and stick with the Visual Editor out of simplicity.
My last several Ink Talks About CSS blogs have largely focused on things that would be useful to people who have already made that jump to the Source Editor, and want to aim even higher. And that's great and all, but if I really want to break down the barrier for entry, then I myself should probably start aiming lower and making resources that'll be more helpful to editors that are only just starting out... right? Or, at the very least, I could try to put together some existing resources for the Source Editor.
What're y'all's thoughts on the conundrum? Should I stick with more advanced subjects, or start doing blogs that make it easier to start with the Source Editor?
And, most especially, a question for those of you who've considered the Source Editor briefly, but ended up sticking with the Visual Editor instead: what turned you off of the Source Editor, and would you give it a second chance if you had access to tutorials for it?

There's a user who's created a number of pages involving real-world topics that are extremely uncomfortable if not completely offensive. This one features characters deliberately (he mentions it in 'Trivia' named after Nazis and one of them is supposed to teach the player an ability which (when you look up the German) is literally 'Final Solution'. He clearly knows this is wrong because he went and changed the name from English to German in an edit to disguise it. There is also this one which is explicitly based on the current Ukraine/Russia conflict and which openly blames the former for being invaded by the latter and this one whose premise is 'What if the real-world creator of these games was killed?' and this one whose premise (in 'Trivia') brings up conspiracy theories about vaccines as its entire inspiration. Is there anything that can be done about this guy because this is really uncomfortable and seems to violate site rules in doing so.

Why there isn't even a message wall feature on this wiki? If that's the case, then how should I communicate directly with other Fantendo users without having to visit their talk page (seriously, who uses talk pages anymore) and/or mention their names anywhere on discussion threads?
There's one week left before the deadline to post your drawings for the Art Swap, so I'm gonna make this Discussions post real quick to check up on the participants and their progress!
IIRC I haven't seen that much rules in this wiki for stuff like text and images made through generative AI programs like ChatGPT. If anything about it is written in pages, please let me know.
Here’s a lil technical difficulties screen thing for Let’s Go Katamari when you didn’t clear a level of it
CrakaboLazy4090 told me the solution, so this is outdated now.
So this is a bug that has been annoying me for a long time.
The text cursor and highlighting functions want to go off the text. This makes things difficult for me to write ideas on.
I want this fixed, NOW.
Why are the infoboxes so dark? and the Category section and everything else?
I can barely see the stuff I'm trying to see. I'm also having a problem in the Source Editor. the Line that shows where I'm editing is wrong, and I'm deleting and adding stuff in the wrong place.
I hate having to edit pages on mobile, due to the fact that the offset of typing something is out of WHACK.
What is this wiki about exactly?
What will NIWA’s Smash Wiki look like in April Fools 2023?
Hello everyone!
I'm sure most of you have noticed the little site notice appearing on the wiki about the MediaWiki 1.39 update. I just wanted to give a little bit more information about it.
What's being updated? Mostly coding underneath the hood. There will be no major design changes. Consider it like replacing the battery of a car - the car will still be the same outwardly, but it just needs some updates underneath.
All Fandom wikis will be updating to MediaWiki 1.39 in the coming month. I don't have an exact timeline at this moment, but expect it to happen in mid-March or April. During the migration to 1.39, the wikis will be set in read-only mode. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (major wikis could need more hours). One week before migration, a banner will appear on communities to let you know the migration is scheduled. For one week after the migration, a similar banner to let users know the community is now on the new version.
Most importantly, if you experience any bugs after the move, please either report them to the admins (who will then forward them to me) or directly to me either on my message wall or Discord. We've done our best to squash and take note of any bugs in our testing phase, but any additional pokes would be greatly appreciated!
Please check out the help page on Community Central for a changelog and further information. ^^
I made up a concept for a Hammer Bro enemy that throws bones instead of hammers to justify their existence when there's a Dry Bones Bro. enemy in existence. Do you think the Bone Bro. works well as a concept, or do you think it isn't possible to make an enemy distinct enough from Dry Bones Bro. to have a second enemy named simiarly?
Ik it’s overused but
I need someone who is very tolerant with idiots to get in contact with me to help me create a wiki article on mobile web, my discord is anonymogus#7505

Hi! Sorry if my question ends up being silly, but I need to resolve some doubts.
I'm about to start my career in this wiki, and I have some projects ready to be ported to this wiki (Since the original ones are written in my native language, but I wanted to make those available in English too.)
But my recent projects have shown themselves as something easily rated as Mature Content. And my question was about this kind of content, because I don't want to break any rule, not even by accident.
My question was about the images part. (I'm fully aware about real Gore and any kind of sexually explicit imagery or sexually explicit descriptions being completely Forbidden, but I have projects that I don't know if I'd need to tone them down before porting them, or if It will be safe with the mature template)
Just to Give context. I have in my deck a few cards about fanon content about well-known franchises of Newgrounds (As well as other projects, based on VTubers and Original ones, some of them being fairly mature too)
A Sequel of Pico's School, that I had made in my native language in 7 days as a challenge. I know that Gory descriptions are allowed, but, due to the Pico Franchise's bloody nature, some of the drawings I made, for a further sense of ambience, are also pretty violent and Gory. Also, (lots of swearing aside), there are many sexual references and jokes, but it actually doesn't show anything but the violence. I'm not sure if anything of this should be toned down even with the mature template, or the template would let the content stay that way for this case.
A written series about Tankmen. Because of the original Tankmen series being full of sexual jokes and cursing, I made my show share these traits, but with more swear words and violence than the original series. (As well as really obvious sexual references, but not actual sex scenes) But I'd like to know if the mature template would be enough, of if I should tone anything down about this project before)
I also have some projects that are not even close to the M/R-Rated tone of these ones, but one of them is actually made to be PG-13/T styled. Would a mature template be needed in a case like this?
And, regarding audio files, which procedure would be followed if those files contained swearing or horror-like elements? (Jumpscare sounds, glitch effects, among others.)
I'll be happy to know what's the best way to proceed with cases like these ones. Thanks! :3
